    Gday BBM and john ,this is the best video of grabbing a grub i have seen you actually see what you are trying to get ,lots of others say ye you grab the grub but you dont see it thankfully with johns expertise in cinemaetography you do i say well done . With the sugar syryp i find a 3 litre milk container works well as you have a handle to control the flow of syryp into the feeder . Hope you get a good yield of queen cells take some wont from what ive seen but some is better than none .

    I really enjoy your videos. Do you think you might have time in the future to look at how your mechanical varroa controls are affecting your honey production. I'm not worried about honey as an amateur but obviously very important to professional beekeepers. Regards, Jamie.

    Do you cover the queen cells with anything between popping grubs in the cells and putting the cells into the box? Or is the "jelly" that sticky enough to keep the grubs in place without falling out of the cell?

    A cup of hot water helps keep the tip of the grafting tool soft and pliable. just a dip once in a while.

    Hi Mark and John, Thanks for the video. I would suggest picking younger larva. They should be the smallest larva 4 days from when the queen laid them, 1 day old larva. The bees can make a queen from the older larva but they are inferior to 1 day larva.

    Nice Mark and John, that was some nice footage of the grafting and the grubs. Quick question, was there anything in the queen cups or did you just drop the lava into a dry queen cell? Cheers fro the video, stay safe!

    ok you don't need a magnify glass when your grafting grubs that BIG, you sure they are two day old? I like the wet towel idea and laughed at you saying your cell builders weren't the nicest bees because I find some of my best are the grumpiest hives.

  • @BESHYSBEES
    @BESHYSBEES 3 года назад

    I prefer the German metal grafting tool and priming the cells with jelly rather than using the Chinese tools

  • @ronbolejack1803

  • @BESHYSBEES
    @BESHYSBEES 3 года назад +1

    The Larvae you selected are too old they need to be younger than 1 day, the larvae should be smaller than the egg and translucent if they’re white they’re probably too old
