I base coated my stone with Liquitex Black Gesso available at most craft stores.
I will paint on three coats of DuraClear Gloss Varnish by Deco Art Americana available at most craft stores.

wow... just wow. I started playing with dot painting on rocks for the garden at church last year. I want to be you when I grow up... lolol. Loved watching this, at 4 am, sitting up in the recliner with pneumonia. Not only lovely work, but oh so calming. Thank you!!!!

Craft smart paints are very easy to replicate in all paint lines. You should do fine :)

It was beautiful to see you use colours that I don't normally choose. Crafting is so much fun with cats! Do you worry a lot about cat hair in your paint or on your finished items?? I ask since I'm considering dotting as a new paint hobby. Both Winston and Gracie are beautiful! Gracie looks just like my Lilu. Lilu loves helping me quilt and draw Zentangle Art.... and would definitely be all over paint dotting. She's very curious. 😻💞
Lol all my work has cat DNA in it 🤣 I usually see it and can remove the little hairs but sometimes one gets missed .
@@SusanNelsonCreations 🤣 Ooh... cat DNA makes it extra special! Reminds me of a time I sent a special package of various Zentangle artwork pieces to a friend as embellishments for her scrap journaling project..... she got a free Lilu whisker too! She was so pleased! LOL!
Your work is amazing maybe I ask a question ; how do you make the acrylic more liquid ?? Water ?? Thank you
Good question. You can use a drop of water, I like to use Liquitex Flow aid (dilute 1/20) or for some paints I use Liquitex pouring medium.
I do have a video in my list on thinning down acrylic paints.
How do I find equivalents for the craft smart paints? I've tried to find on line charts but haven"t been successful. This pattern is beautiful!
I don’t know about a chart. All I always say is look at what you have and just match it up with your own colours. All lines have the basic colours. And mixing is fun to make your own tones too.
Craft smart is from Michaels and they should have them listed in their inventory .

I searched for a local scrap booking business and got mine there. Otherwise you can find them on Amazon. Or maybe even Etsy.
Susan can you tell me what would be the equivalent of the S4 stylus in the regular stylus that you always use as those are the styluses that I presently have? Lovely design and lovely kitty lol!!!
The S4 is just 4 mm. So just use a large stylus. Or just do your swooshes to fit your space :)

@@flossycaines1270 there really is no wrong or right answer. Try one using a tool or try a stylus . It’s ok either way. The only time I’d say not to use a white tool is if your walking the dots. They don’t work well for that.

Are you usually the golden fluid straight out of the bottle?
I don’t ad anything to the golden fluid and can use it as is.
