    This message is engaging (it's downright entertaining) while still being very solid, VERY USEFUL, very instructive and practical, very NEEDED. If I could give stars, this one would definitely get a TEN. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

    It was most refreshing to have you begin this study by admonishing that studying the bible is not the only thing in the Christian life. There's so much more that we must glean from reading and studying the bible, and the most important is applying what we've learned to our walks with Christ. Secondly you asked which bible versions the folks attending the Bible study used, and you stated that it was too late for you to change from using the NKJV and the commentary that you are currently using. Now this I found intriguing, because we Christians believe that there is one God, the triune God of the Holy Scriptures. We believe that God is Alrighty, All knowing, and Omnipresent.
    We believe that he keeps his promises...or do we? Unfortunately in Christiandom that's not the case. Even though all through scripture we're told that the word of God is pure (inerrant, without contradiction, infallible, tried, true, and to be trusted), inspired, preserved, and settled in heaven! Ipso facto, though man has decided that there can be many translations and interpretations of God's word, that is simply not true. Just as there is only One true triune God, there is only one holy Bible, and there's one in every language. And in the English language it's the King James Bible. It's inspired and preserved, and I know that because I can take God at his word! I have faith in God and his promises. The deceiver, Satan himself, has lead many to believe that the only true Bible is in the "original documents", but if that's true, then God is a liar! And what we see today as the result of that deception is the development of many different false doctrines and what we call denominations.

    Sorry, I failed to clarify Isaiah 45:7
    KJ states ".....I make peace and create EVIL."
    All other versions state....I make peace and create calamity.
    Evil is not the opposite of peace.
    The opposite of peace is chaos or calamity.
    Anyway, it is these errors that I prefer other bible versions to the KJ...but condemn no one that uses KJV.

    • @itstoasty7089
      @itstoasty7089 9 месяцев назад

      If you think about it, there is no chaos with peace. When the multitude worships Jesus at the end, it won’t be chaotic. There will be order and harmony. Evil and chaos might not be two different things, but evil and calamity certainly are. With this said, I can argue that the opposite of peace can be evil, because with evil there is no peace.

    • @sheilasmith7779
      @sheilasmith7779 9 месяцев назад

      @itstoasty7089 the point is that a lack of peace can be the state of a country fighting to protect its borders, but that does not mean that state is of war is "evil."

    I condemn no one who reads KJV, but if asked I will give reasons why I dont:
    Significant mistakes like writing the command, Thou shall not kill. They failed to realize the Hebrew word for "kill," and the Hebrew word for
    "murder." Later they corrected this error. Isaiah 45:7: Only KJV uses a word as an opposition to well being.
    2nd reason: I am not reading the bible as historical literature and therefore prefer a common, easy to understand language.

      There is no conspiracy to remove Bible verses - we simply know so much more about the formation of the biblical texts since 1611, when the KJV was written.
      If you're really a KJV-purist, you'll use the original, unaltered 1611 version - without any quotation marks, and lacking a lot of punctuation.
      Otherwise, if you're OK using anything OTHER than the 1611 version, what's the difference between that and what every other version does, which is improve the text based on all available evidence and manuscripts?
      Take Mark 15:28, for example - KJV: "And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, "And he was numbered with the transgressors.""
      It does not appear in ANY New Testament manuscript prior to the end of the 6th century. But it is very similar to Luke 22:37, so it's quite obvious that scribes and copyists later ADDED this verse from Luke into Mark in the late 6th century.
      So: did the Holy Spirit originally get it wrong by not including this verse in the oldest manuscripts of Mark?
      Was the Holy Spirit just waiting around for a clever copyist to "correct" the Gospel of Mark by adding this?
      OR, is it far more likely that Mark himself was guided by the Holy Spirit when he originally wrote the Gospel without this verse, and it was only the later mistakes by well-meaning Christians that made Mark 15:28 a much later addition to the text?
      There are countless other examples like this. If your opinion is that the secular editors of the KJV know what should be in the Bible even better than the oldest, most accurate manuscripts, that's your prerogative.
