Ikr... One of the reasons why I love TS2 so much is that. The sims might not look so pretty all the time, their faces do get a bit weird when they have certain facial expressions... but they went all out with the expressions. When a sim is left at the altar, you can genuinely see despair and then sadness in their eyes. I’m one of those people who’s very keen on the emotions of others. If I see a person crying, I automatically start crying the moment my brain reads and recognises their expressions. And that happens during that cutscene. They nailed the facial expression to the point where my brain just goes “oh, this person is crying, I have to cry too”. Unfortunately that has never happened to me whenever my TS4 sims were sad, no matter how long I stared at them...
Sims 2 didn’t have open worlds or story progression outside of the current household but it was still amazing. It didn’t even matter because the game was just that good!
Yeah, whatever happened to caring about the freaking game and not how well it run or the aesthetic? That's icing and no matter how good it is, it'll be nothing without the freaking cake
Very late reply, but, to be fair, sims 2 was very much focused on rotational gameplay instead of single household gameplay like the sims 3 or 4. Even the prima guide for the sims 2 suggested that you played all the households in a neighborhood. They'd even give you a specific order, so you could follow certain scripted events. I feel like a story progression dynamic would do more harm than good in this kind of gameplay. It isn't something replicated with sims 3 or 4, so story progression in those installments was definitely needed. I guess it's just a matter of preference
TS2 is my favorites in the whole entire series, such a fantastic game. If you would ever get the chance, I would definitely recommend playing it at least once. :)
I wish sims 4 had sims 2’s interactions. I played sims 4 for thousand hours and love creating new sims& my sim family. I also have almost all expansion packs. And yet the actual play is kinda meh..it lacks life!
Same! I played sims 2 recently after many years and I was so blown away by all the interactions and animations! Pretty much all interactions (with other sims and objects) have their own unique animations, unlike sims 4 where they use the same animations over and over again. It makes the interactions feel more special and the sims more alive.
I also hate how Sims 4 reuse the same animations over and over again for different interactions. Sims 2 had so many unique interaction and all of them were defferent
I love how in ts3 the mean spirited sims are always so rude, some traits in ts3 are kinda useless but some defines the personality of the sims a lot, and I really love those little things in the game
I was just playing it a little bit ago, One of my sims had took his toddler to the beach on the day they moved in. Once he put the toddler down, a mean spirited sim came up to him and started a fight. My sim won of course lol
I don't think a single trait in TS3 is useless. They all add some nuance to each Sim, some in less obvious ways than others for sure, but they're still a nice touch
About the rumor of limo in the Sims 2. Yes a limo can show up after a successful wedding party, but only if Bon Voyage expansion pack is NOT installed. The limo shows up to pick the bride and groom up for an off the screen honeymoon. This feature is disabled if Bon Voyage installed so you can have real honeymoon in vacation destinations.
I wish a limo would pick you up if you have fame or money; Sims 2 doesn’t technically have fame but if you make enough friends or have a certain career, you’ll get a notification that people will start to recognize your sim or that they’re becoming more famous or something. Doesn’t do anything to gameplay but something they could’ve worked in even in a small way here.
The irony that Sims 4 was marketed for having "smarter sims" who will multi-task and actually focus at weddings. I remember that being the selling point that got me (though I still haven't even started TS4), yikes.
Don’t get sims 4. It’s really boring unless you want to spend 500 dollars. Trust me, I gave this game 5 years every day and it wasn’t as good as sims 3/2
Sims are supposed focus on the wedding, but mine always run around, go drink tap water, grill burgers etc 🤦🏻♀️ Like, they can't sit on their asses for a few minutes.
@Aaren we're sorry you feel this way. How about you buy our newest expansion pack for the sims 4? It's called Pile of Trash, and there's only one thing in it, which is a non-interactive pile of trash
@Aaren :) People buy everything we make, for some godforsaken reason. Here's another expansion pack. Pile of Trash PLUS. This pack has an INTERACTIVE pile of trash. Interacting with it will make your sim lose the ability to feel happy, and all of their emotions will be replaced with a brand-new emotion called Ripped Off. Your sim will constantly feel like they spent way too much money on the trash.
I keep seeing comments like this and it makes me feel bad because my boyfriend bought me the Sims 4 and it's literally the only game I've ever owned, and I feel bad for loving it...
Also something to note, in Sims 2, there are technically no same-sex marriages, rather than joined unions. They still work the exact same way as marriages, though. This is because back then, most countries did not recognize same-sex marriage, but they could register for a joined union. In real life, joined union couples don't often have the same rights as married couples in most countries where that is still a thing, but in Sims 2, the difference was only in the name. I'm glad they opted to just call it marriage regardless of gender in the later games, but it's interesting to see that difference in Sims 2.
Doesn't the Want to enter a joined union yield less aspiration points than the Want to marry? I may be misremembering but I thought I read that somewhere
I want to cry about how beautiful the Sims 3 with add-ons is, but I miss the opportunity to play it because my laptop is weak and game crashes constantly when choosing clothes
@call me viktoria I'm afraid this will only spoil the game even more, as will lowering the graphics. I would like to leave it as it is, that is, the ability to repaint the clothes as I want. It's all about the system. My processor falls short of the minimum requirements. In the game settings themselves, a 64-bit system is indicated, and I have 32. I need 2 gigahertz, and I have 1.65.
Thought I should say is for ts4 you can stand someone up at the wedding arch while getting married. While sims are getting married click on the arch and click the interaction with a broken heart. It says something like stand them up or leave at the alter I forget but then the sim will yell and slide their foot at the sim and the other will start crying. Just a little feature to mess around with.
Lucy Adroit yeah it’s something you have to do not something your sims will do automatically. I wish they did to cause some drama but yeah that’s the sims 4 for ya

In the Sims 3 your wedding will be in the paper! The description changes based off if it's public or private, how many attendees, and if your sims kissed or hugged. It's a fun Lil detail :)
Yes, I happened to see my Sims wedding in the paper the next day! It's funny cause I wasn't even expecting it, I was playing in Bridgeport and wanted to know what the hot spot would be that night. 😂😂😂
It feels like along with adding the “emotions” system, they sacrificed the other things about sims that made it real. The fact that Sims 2 had a surprise engagement, and so many different ways to propose was amazing. The cutscenes were great too. I gotta stop torturing myself with the comparisons cause I get so mad lmao. They ruined my favorite game. By sims 4, we should have had walking down the Aisle and a whole goddamn wedding shabang
Come to think of it, I’ve never had my Sims marry. I keep them in status quo. Btw, my dad actually asked my grandfather for my mom’s hand in marriage. The conversation went something like this: Dad: May I have permission to marry your daughter? Grandpa: Which one? Dad: The one who’s not married. Grandpa: You have my blessing.
Sims 2 all the way. If only for the memories system. I used to love going through townies memories and creating my own for my sims. ts2 had so much more life and fun in it. 3 had open world which made it exciting and 4 well.. all i'm gonna say is bless you modders.
Glad I'm not the only one who loved seeing everyone's memories! It was mostly the same for townies but the families with storylines were pretty juicy lol
One time in Sims 2 I made two Romantic Aspiration sims just so I could maximize their romantic interest in each other as fast as possible. I actually got them to marry. But the real funny part is the moment they got married: they both fell to the ground in a confused state, where a teleporting psychologist did weird things to them for a minute or two.
alex 2727 in my game they do, that’s why one of the goals is to have your guests sit down and watch the wedding. the captions clearly point out that this is happening in their game and not everybody else’s 🙄
The dramaaaa with leaving the alter in Sims 2 and the negative memories. Bruh I wish TS4 had that. And I was living for that witch friend. My entire attention was on her lol
@@SimsAllAround yes, for real! Actually it was the easiest way cause the normal way you had to constantly feed and entertain your spouse-to-be and they would still turn you down :D
Sims 2>sims 4>sims 3. Sims 2 allowed you to visit neighbors without loading screens, you could throw building parties to meet people, the roommate system was very well done and it worked with social classes and groups. Sims 4 at least gives you neighbors, the preset lot traits was a nice touch of challenge and difficulties that come with apartments and it came with the ability to give an apartment/house key- this works with any residential lot but I only do that for apartments. Sims 3 apartments sucked. No neighbors, no added quirks or advantages. It had 0 differences from residential lots apart from size and the elevators to get to and from your apartment took forever.
ugh... i wish sims 4 had the bachelorette party... also the interactions like in 2 and take the traits more into account like in 3 (like almost dropping the ring and such... that was cute)... also honeymoon??? are you kidding??? why is that not a thing? i mean sure you can "go on vacation" but its not the same. it feels like 4 has slid backward... i also like the ability to ask the parents permission in 3... just adds another level of gameplay
i'm a Sims 2 child, so when i played Sims 4 and married my sims in a wedding party, WHAT THE ACTUAL F! the guests were doing everything except watching the ceremony, come on! those are little details that make the game more liveable, in Sims 2 all the guests gatter in front the arch to watch the ceremony, thats awesome, Sims 2 wins this!
1:26 Anne: I have something important to tell you. John: Really? Anne: Will you marry me? John: Oh god! No! I'm not supposed to marry you unless you marry ME! Anne: Oops.
Sims do that depending on their personality so if you tell a super outgoing sim to talk to somebody they will look into the camera with either approval or disapproval if they are shy.
Gotta admit, sims 4 wedding ceremony is hilarious, your getting married and everyone’s standing up, and talking about nothing. Kinda reminds me of real wedding that I’ve attended and some of them are really like that. All the aunties in the back standing around talking about the family drama.😂😂 I make the sims 4 work for me personally, it’s not the best but I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt for actually adding the feeding your partner cake feature🤷🏽♀️😭
The Sims 1 is definitely the most challenging. I don't think I ever once had a sim accept my proposal. Granted, I was like 7, but still.. I had trouble even making friends for my sims, or you know, keeping them alive. The motives would decay so quickly, and the relationships were so finicky. I'm impressed at your success. 😅
The newspaper in Sims 3 was actually somewhat useful for reading up on the local news in whatever town you were playing in. I even remember reading about NPCs and townies moving out of town.
Didn't realize in Sims 4 angry Sims will slap the ring away 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Sims 2 week always be the best. I want Sims 2 weddings with the ceremony options from Sims 4, especially the calendar. I like that with the calendar you can plan parties days in advance! I almost always do this for all party types. Great video. Thanks for posting 🤗
Actually I don’t mind it and it’s not unrealistic. My mom didn’t change her name and I’m sure there are plenty that don’t. I’m sure that it’s EA laziness going on, but I don’t care about name changing.
Not everybody changes their name. If you want to change the last name it's easy in Sims 4. In sims 2 you need mods to change character name. In sims 3 you can do it in game but you have to go to town hall.
The Sims 2 + The Sims 3 hands down the best i love the cut scenes and all the extra moments that The Sims 4 doesnt have. TS4 is so boring with their animations. I always hated how the girl would jump in the guys arms. I had my female sim purpose to her boyfriend and i like that they just hugged it was simple and cute.
funny sims story: so if anyone has sims 2 you know the pollination technician family (that has johnny smith in it) and the other household with ophelia nigmos. so i enrolled ophelia in college and she was still dating johnny and i made them married (it was my first time playing) so johnny had to move into the college dorms lmaooo
The sims 2 it's (in my opinion) the only one that actually makes you feel like you play with life, they are so alive in every little detail, it even makes you feel bad when sims are sad. I would love to see a remake of ts2 but with an open world, that would be awesome!
You should've mentioned that there's a hidden achievement in Sims 4 where a sim can actually die during a wedding ceremony! I found that out by accident while having my bride sim play and drown in the Luminary Lake object at a park. This can be done before or after the marriage vows checklist, but it's all gotta be done DURING the wedding event!
. . .and once again, I'm reminded of how much I miss the Sims 2 cutscenes. I had no idea that proposals and weddings could go so wrong! That cartoony "zoom!" when John takes off XD I want THAT back. And give me more of the romantic interactions from both Sims 2 and Sims 3! I'd love to have a Sim confess to their paramour that they watch them sleep. Sims 4 is -- just about adequate, but yeah, it is kind of sad that a wedding is a bunch of the same romantic interactions on a loop, with luck of the draw determining whether your guests even pay attention or not. You don't even get proper honeymoons anymore! Meeeeh. . .
The sims 2 was a one if a kind hit. It was exactly what was needed, and when. The lore, the memories, the cutscenes. It was perfect, that's why it always wins the votes
in my sims 4 if other sims are in your household when you’re in control you can click on sims saying their vows and object to the marriage and other sims usually cheer when they get married

The cutscenes wedding on TS2 are EVERYTHING !
Sims 1: Hey, you live with me. We MUST be related. xD
XD
Thats the best part though
You can still woohoo with whoever is in your household. Kids never age up so there's no issue involved.
😂😂😂😂😂
Wait- what the hell.. is that really what happen? xDD
Even by now, someone MODDED Story Progression for Sims 2.
I hate story progression.
There is now a story progression for sims 2. works real well
Never played TS2, but they clearly have the win in this reguard. Only for all the different ways sims react.

Ranii thats so true 😂 thankfully cc for the sims 2 is easy to download!
I wish sims 4 had sims 2’s interactions. I played sims 4 for thousand hours and love creating new sims& my sim family. I also have almost all expansion packs. And yet the actual play is kinda meh..it lacks life!
If sims 4 were made by sims 2 and sims 3 team it would be the best game ever
my perfect sims game would have 2's interactions, 3's open world and some smaller things from 4
I would have 4s graphics but the other games playability
Ranii sims 4 traits do sod all unless you get mods.
Ahhh! I tried so many times I had no idea BonVoyage was responsible for it being missing, thank you!
So you're telling me an expansion pack actually *removes* a feature?... wow, EA
And when they come back their mood and aspirations meters are full
I LOVED Bon Voyage ❤️😭

The irony that Sims 4 was marketed for having "smarter sims" who will multi-task and actually focus at weddings. I remember that being the selling point that got me (though I still haven't even started TS4), yikes.
@Achmad Putra I literally said I haven't even started TS4.... I saw that they can reject but that's irrelevant to my comment.
They focus sometimes
Don’t get sims 4. It’s really boring unless you want to spend 500 dollars. Trust me, I gave this game 5 years every day and it wasn’t as good as sims 3/2

I do remember that for same sex marriage in Sims 3 the hearts falling from arch are not pink but blue
Really?! I need to pay attention to that
Also something to note, in Sims 2, there are technically no same-sex marriages, rather than joined unions.

Wait, you mean as a player interaction, not a random chance??

Sims 2 apartments were so great
Sims 2>sims 4>sims 3.

Sims do that depending on their personality so if you tell a super outgoing sim to talk to somebody they will look into the camera with either approval or disapproval if they are shy.

In The sims 4 after marriage there is no change in last names, i don't know why
I think they fixed it after a bit, otherwise there are mods like MCCC that fix it.
SIMS 2 WON THIS AND WITH THE CUTSCENES? HOLY MOLY THATS SO COOL
I love those little details in SIms 2 so much.
funny sims story: so if anyone has sims 2 you know the pollination technician family (that has johnny smith in it) and the other household with ophelia nigmos. so i enrolled ophelia in college and she was still dating johnny and i made them married (it was my first time playing) so johnny had to move into the college dorms lmaooo
You think this is funny?? You made the poor basterd live in college dorms and you're laughing?! If yes then you deserve a medal sir good job👍👍
The sims 2 it's (in my opinion) the only one that actually makes you feel like you play with life, they are so alive in every little detail, it even makes you feel bad when sims are sad. I would love to see a remake of ts2 but with an open world, that would be awesome!
In TS2 when the man run and she cry, me be like: ;-; omfg...
I love how in The Sims 3 when someone says no in the middle of the wedding is like "oh, really? Okay, don't worry i understand"
SIMS 2 CUTSCENES ONE OF THE BEST THAT HAPPEN IN THIS FRANCHISE
. . .and once again, I'm reminded of how much I miss the Sims 2 cutscenes.
I liked how in the old sims games your sim could hate someone who loves him
