I hope you’re doing well! I’ve seen a few of your videos and I want to send positive vibe your way. My only suggestion is to really narrow down your search in terms of job function. If you’re trying to go into tech, think what you’re really good at or softwares that you feel most confident in. You should know exactly what the role should be when you’re applying to it. If not, make sure to ask more about the job function and day to day activity during your interview. Remember, your interview should not feel one sided and should be more conversational.
Congratulations, I'm so happy for you, I'm still with Revature, approaching my one year mark and I'm also working in Atlanta/Sandy Springs. I hope this is the first step to where you want to be, Good luck.
I live in Georgia too, currently I’m learning web development, no degree, no experience, using only UDemy courses, and YT. Being a sitting at home mom with a lack of free time sometimes I feel lack of motivation .
Hi, currently in the same situation. Taking an online course and doing my own research for Front end development. After running around with the kids and finally having time to myself I just want to relax and not want to work on anything. Uhhg it sucks sometimes. But I have to remember this is something for me and what I want to do and how many doors it will open for me and my family.
Hi, glad to see your update video. I found your channel from your Revature videos. I attended their webinar recently, but decided not to push through. I'm self studying cloud computing, specifically, AWS. I see that Skillstorm has Cloud jobs posted on their website. Do you think they offer the same opportunities like training for those type of jobs? Anyway, happy for you and good luck on your new journey with Skillstorm! :)
Hi! We do provide training for AWS and other cloud positions. Email your resume and a little bit about your interest over to apply@skillstorm.com and we'll be in touch!
there are honestly sooooo many roles you could go into. many of which don't involve coding if that's not your thing. i'm planning to do a video on this soon.
Appreaciate your boot camp/Ravature story because this seems like "work place situation".. You stopping thru "the process" did not mean not capable... Thanks for sharing...
I got a training in revature . first is C# dynamic batch now java react batch . In this moment seen like if we werent selected after p3 80% is going to be release .from our batch 8 people selected and 2 released and the rest of people including me got in retraining without second interview. They released alot of people and the reason is they dont have client.better to think over again . i am almost done my java and i did really well in all of my projects but not regret in training to warm up my coding skills with java and c# .
@@childlikekait yeah , alot of people release without any reason . my interivew was great and i could answer all of the questions thought they gave me a functioanl consultant position and i dont want to work and prefer to become SE that is the only reason to apply revature stuck with two years contract and my friend toldme 36000 is illegal so i am not worrry about it . Alot of people got retraining also released too . From my java retraining they relased 10 people and they release from the staging too . Seem like if we werent selected , one way or another going to be release instead of give us another interview.
Skill storm sounds so cool but I have no idea what you were talking about when you have object development lol, and wouldn't be ready for the technical questions or any assessments :( super cool though best wishes to u!
look up object orienter programming. most of the training programs i've seen/got into involved one of these languages. lots of free tutorials/courses out there for them. thanks for watching! ✨
Im looking into more entry level tech roles like tech and customer support engineer can still work with company documentation, and work with SE and the positions make 60k+ great way to get your foot in the door with out a two year contract. Then 6month 1yr transfer within the company. Those programs are very predatory.
Good choice. $67k for someone brand new relocating to DC sounds so scary tbh. In ATL your connections and knowledge of the city are probably worth more than the pay difference. But you’re so right, let’s stop calling ATL low COL, we freakin full.
So happy for you, I was following your story while in training been With Revature working in the DMV area. It pays off!
oh, that's awesome! congrats! how's it going on the job now?

Question, do they make relocation mandatory?
it's been a pretty wild ride... and is still not over 🙃 lol. but thank you! how's your first year been?
Thank you for sharing. Looking forward to an update. I’m currently preparing for the assessment with Skillstorm
Thank you for watching! I hope it went well!

yes... there's so much to learn that it can be overwhelming at times. finding that motivation is hard some days.
yes! and don't be so focused on the end goal that you forget to enjoy the journey! ✨

thank you! i believe they do offer training for some of the cloud computing roles. just depends on which one you're applying for.
I’m trying to break into tech as well. Any advice on any entry level roles? What roles do you prefer?

Congrats!! Yes , $57k per year a start...and the Experience more important than pay! 👏
I applied because of you! You should ask the recruiter if they'll give you a paycheck in exchange of bringing them new talent!
