What a surprise! I was 17 and in the crowd with my girlfriend and haven't seen this clip since it was aired. I'm the one with the scruffy beard. I remember the night well and how much fun Disneyland was. I've often wondered if there was a tape of the program floating around somewhere and here it is. Thanks for the memories!
So talented. There's a lack decent shows today. There's amazing singers n performers out there, but not on tv it seems. The days of good family shows are long over! Sad!!
This is the televised performance that started their careers. For those who don't already know, the brothers were seen (on T.V.) by Andy Williams' father and ... the rest is history !!!
They are So Cute....I have Always been a Fan ....Thank You All for The Great Music,Talent, Entertainment....Marie Too ....Also for Showing Good Morals and Clean Entertainment....💖
My Uncle Ed was a professional musician who worked at Disneyland at that time!!! I would to think he played into for THE OSMOND BROTHER'S!!! I feel cool as heck now. LoL
This is from a featurette called "Disneyland after dark" made in 1961. Walt Disney himself showing us around his park. Another highlight was Louis Armstrong 'recreating' the Hot 5
II am a dancer. Trained 10 years. Was a huge Davis fan. Saw him dance LIVE many times. Enormously talented song n dance man. Great tapper, Incredible soft shoe. Breaker. Would be starting over learning DanceSport. Donny is 52 & struggled awful the first several dances. He really 'got it" just at the end. Stars who are singers & dance to their music also have struggled. You obviously do not appreciate how difficult this is to do. Look at the pros when they alone do a group dance.
"Disneyland After Dark" released on TV on April 8,1962. At that time, the elder three was still 12,10,8. Because they all were still before a birthday. But, only Jay(b.March 2,1955) had already become 7 years old. On the other hand, at "Disneyland's 25th Anniversary"(1980), Danny Kaye said it was 1961. Probably I think, this was filmed in The latter half of 1961 and on-aired in next spring.
Someone in the audience one day that they were preforming at Disneyland, i don't know why but i keep thinking it was Andy's dad. Told Andy you gotta have these boys on your show. I remember Andy telling that story during the first time he was introducing them before they sang. Their harmony & joking cander for their age makes them absolutly amazing & very entertaining. And they shined so bright even before Donny joined the act, remarkable:):):):)
When the Osmonds went to California. They were to appear on The Lawrence Welk Show. But, wound up appearing on The Andy Williams show instead and the rest is history. BTW they sound like a barbershop quartet
Wow! They are amazing! Too bad you don't hear much about them anymore. I know Alan (spelling?) suffers from severe MS and so does his young teenager son.
a interview I saw with Donny he mentioned the countless similarities between families. Both had 9 kids, the act started with just the older brothers ,reaching stardom fronted with similar age Donny and Michael singing lead, little sisters (Janet and Marie) becoming famous ,even trivial things like mothers having the same birthday and playing the same instruments.
Bet Lawrence Welk could have kicked himself for not seeing them audition for his show; they probably would have been his biggest act! These boys were born to sing; God blessed them; it is their gift to share with us lucky people.
Plus I always think about them as fraternal twins so it is totally funny that I read that supposedly Donny and Jay swapped dates and Donny hooked up with Debbie after Jay was done dating her and it didn't work out --and we know the rest of the story!!
Donny is 30 months younger than Jay. According to: The Osmonds From Wikipedia their chart hits came in the 70's. Which did include Donny. Jimmy the last to join the group is almost 6 years younger than Donny.

Wow! What year?
Very cool!
This proves Jay's been cute for decades!
The little one, Jay, is also one of the most talented drummers, bar none.
those harmonies are IMPECCABLY tight! i love it!
So talented. There's a lack decent shows today. There's amazing singers n performers out there, but not on tv it seems. The days of good family shows are long over! Sad!!
You know....This really is phenomenal for kids their age. wow.
Yes or for adults, for anyone really... They even unified their slides.
Wow! I am very impressed with this kids, I don’t think I have seen such a great talent ever, definitely phenomenal 👏🏼👏🏼

Love the Osmonds....great music and great memories!!! Makes me smile!!!
To sing unaccompanied with perfect tuning like this is astonishing. I wonder if they had perfect pitch. So difficult to sing this in tune.
they indeed all have perfect pitch:)
That’s pure talent!
A bunch of cuties🤗
I totally agree! You're pretty cute, too... is that tiny thumbnail picture is you. Lol
They were so cute when they were little. Alan Wayne and Merrill still look the same.
Sweet, happy 50th anniversary in show biz gentlemen.
too precious...needed for this upcoming holiday season....
"I'm 12 years old and I'm the bass." LOL =)
It's something how these 4 Mormon boys actually made the whole barbershop genre cool. Such a crazy talented family the Osmonds have always been!
Made it cool?
And years later, after Donnie was born, he'd join his brothers and snuck onto the Haunted Mansion TWICE.
Just awesome! Back in the day!!!
This is so awesome, incredible, and fantastic!! 4 little young children very talented and good at barbershop quartet singing!!
Oh sooooo adorable! I love the Osmonds too! In fact, I loved them first than the Jacksons... :)

LoL
Best harmony ever!!!!!!
Yeah, and they got better as they got older and their voices matured, and better still when Donny was old enough to join 'em.
Still watching August 2020👋
Me too!

Can’t help, thinking of Alfalfa in the little rascals, sound wise.. LOL. GOOD JOB THOUGH.
The little one that sings the lead. That's Jay!!

None of the above. he wasn't the original 4 group at all. He is younger than the youngest boy. Search later years stuff to see Donny!!
xD this is so cute!!! lol They're really good too =P
Aww so cute!
Someone in the audience one day that they were preforming at Disneyland, i don't know why but i keep thinking it was Andy's dad. Told Andy you gotta have these boys on your show. Aw, super cute.
@nwmusic06 it is good, clean fun. My late grandfather introduced me to it.

I don't know if he did drumming during the barbershop days. But in his teens yes.
omg how cute was wayne?
When the Osmonds went to California. They were to appear on The Lawrence Welk Show. But, wound up appearing on The Andy Williams show instead and the rest is history.
BTW they sound like a barbershop quartet
so cute!
Hello boys name is the best song ever see you boys just little boys you will get bigger soon
Sounds like a kiddie barbershop quartet
Wow! They are amazing! Too bad you don't hear much about them anymore. I know Alan (spelling?) suffers from severe MS and so does his young teenager son.
"Mom and Daddy are busy making Marie!"
OMG Jay was so cute ! I'M THE LEAD ! Very funny Jay ! Where was Donny when they did this ?
Carolyn Tainter; Donny was three years old, he would be four in december.
Thay are a tresure.
Fab!!!
i don't why people are comparing the jackson 5 to the osmond brothers they sing to completly different styles of music
a interview I saw with Donny he mentioned the countless similarities between families. Both had 9 kids, the act started with just the older brothers ,reaching stardom fronted with similar age Donny and Michael singing lead, little sisters (Janet and Marie) becoming famous ,even trivial things like mothers having the same birthday and playing the same instruments.
The Osmond Like BTS 👍
We want Donny!
JAy can be my lead any day
Whooo?????? Big Tiny LIttle? Never heard of him; please explain? Thanks!
So cute yet creepy at the same time.
Did he originally always do drumming "back then" (2nd generation ager and I don't remember "back then"
You are sad for ripping on kids who turned out to be fine men who live their lives scandal free.
The Disney show on tv would show clips from Disneyland some weeks...
I think that's Bobby Darren at 1:44
Haha! xD
Agreed!
what year was this.. they are so cute
@CarolynTainter1 donny was probably about two. don't quote me on that, but i think his voice would have been a TAD too high in the quartet :P
@frankd1965 that's cause they're singing barbershop music :P
So cute boys that you are really good looking beautiful boys me will love you forever kiss you Jay Wayne merrily Alan
Donny was not part of the original Osmond Brother performance. From Left to Right,
Allen, Wayne, Merrill and Jay
Correct, except it's spelled "Alan."
jay was such a sweetie! alan was pretty cute there! Is this from a movie, or did someone just tape this?
Tv show.
If Alan was 12 and Jay was 6, they performed this barber shop quartet in 1961.
i can't believe they are removing carnation plaza ! );
Bet Lawrence Welk could have kicked himself for not seeing them audition for his show; they probably would have been his biggest act! These boys were born to sing; God blessed them; it is their gift to share with us lucky people.
Thank God it was Andy Williams that picked them up or their act would have fizzled and disappeared.
Donny isn't in this. The height order is Alan, Wayne, Merrill and Jay. Donny was only 4 then, bless.
Plus I always think about them as fraternal twins so it is totally funny that I read that supposedly Donny and Jay swapped dates and Donny hooked up with Debbie after Jay was done dating her and it didn't work out --and we know the rest of the story!!
which ones donny
None, he was too young here.
Donny is 30 months younger than Jay. According to: The Osmonds From Wikipedia their chart hits came in the 70's. Which did include Donny. Jimmy the last to join the group is almost 6 years younger than Donny.
What year was this?
When was this? What year?
Jay looks about 6? So early 60's. Probably 61-62.
Lol, he actually says he's 6, and he was born in 1955, so 1961. :)
what movie is it?
