This is the first time I've ever listened to, "Zero o'clock", by BTS. This is my reaction and review.
This is Episode 13 in my BTS Journey. When I started listening to BTS, I never thought it would be a journey but it has become one. This video is a lot longer than most I have made to this point. Do you like longer or shorter videos? Please comment below.
Thank you for sharing the music you love, with me! That's the whole point of this channel.
Thank you for 1,000 subscribers! I've only been doing this for 3 weeks! That's pretty cool!

Hi, child of the 80s here. I can absolutely relate to being stuck in the same music (ABBA, Elvis, The Offspring, Bon Jovi, basically mostly 70s, 80s and 90s music). Then YT recommended a live BTS video (Dynamite) and why not? 🤷‍♀️ Then I heard Epiphany live... 🤯 I bawled my eyes out and as I fell deeper down the rabbit hole I started a journey of loving myself, finding my strength and changing my life accordingly. The saying goes that you find BTS when you need them the most and omg was that ever true for me. I honestly don't think I would be here today if not for them and all the amazing ARMYs I've befriended all over the world. Y'all have truly helped restore my faith in humanity. And as a bonus I have some amazing new playlists as well. I never connected with an artist/artists nor fandom like this before and I can't imagine I ever will again.

I love Namjoon’s lyricism He is a true poet, and the vocal line did justice to the lyrics to really convey the message This song is a positive encouraging song, but underlying tone is a bit blue and grey, understanding how our lives can be difficult and draining sometimes. The message tells us that our life resets at zero o’clock when the whole universe takes a quick moment of breath and you can start anew. This song touched me tremendously, but also the tiny tan version. I cried watching tiny tan version of the MV countless times, not necessarily because I felt sad but because I felt comforted and understood. This is why I love our boys BTS, and this journey as a devoted fan will last until the end of my life.

Genius is not bad because it's crowd-curated, so if the song is older the accuracy enhances. But some of the translation nuances are hidden among the notes, which can be a hassle to read. Another good place to find translations is Doolset Bangtan. They include the notes on the text, so you can right away get references to previous songs or content, Korean and general pop culture mentions, literary and scientific references and wordplay (they use a lot of all of this on their lyrics)

Oh and I know your comments keep telling you this, but we seriously don't mind long videos. So replay as much as you want. We are so dang devoted and passionate about these guys, our attention spans are unlimited. We love hearing others opinions on their discography. You probably already figured it out, but just in case, Zero O Clock is another comfort song for ARMY. A friendly reminder, no matter how bad your day was, no matter your struggles and hard how of a day it's been, the clock will rest at 00:00. A new day with new opportunities and possibilities, so put the negativity behind you and look at what's to come. A better tomorrow. A positive song for their fans. I don't know about everyone else, but I bawled my eyes out hearing that high note the first time I heard it, then I sobbed reading the lyrics. And then teared up again watching your reaction. Oh gosh, these guys and their beautiful messages do a number on you . Run out of tears by the end of the day, especially for us emotional fans . 😂 Thanks for the reaction 💜

I like your new format. Like I said, ARMYs don't mind long videos and yours was thoughtfully done. The words to 'Zero O'clock ' are very encouraging. RM wrote the lyrics and it's one of Jimin's favorite tracks from their album, "Map of the Soul 7". Another song with encouraging words about embracing challenges and never giving up, is their song, 'ON'. There are theee videos, the official M/V and the performance video, 'ON Kinetic Manifesto Film: Come Prima'. The third video was performed live at Grand Central Station, NY, for the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Now, if the name itself doesn't pique your interest, Idk what will. It was choreographed by a talented teen named Sienna Lalau. This is probably BTS's most challenging choreo, just based on its complexity and technical difficulty. She was 19 yrs old at the time and already had numerous choreography credits under her belt. She is also on the video and is the first person you see as the music starts. Notice her fierce expression. Please react to Kinetic Manifesto Film Come Prima'.

You nailed the lyrics and the musicality yet again. I don't want to see a reactor faking it, I loved seeing you not quite understanding BTS but still giving them a second (and third) chance!
I won't recommend BTS A sides like eveyone else as I think you will appreciate their B sides more. So I will throw a curveball and say you should check out '134340'. Only BTS could use Pluto losing its planet status as a metaphor for losing love! Don't expect bells and whistles, it is just a great mellow track but the rap and the vocals flow together well.
You could try the channel Doolset for BTS lyrics as they also include the meaning of any Korean references used. Looking forward to chapter 14!💜

I obviously knew, some day or the other, this song or some other song. There'll be a point when you like a BTS' song. There's never a single person who listened to their song or understood their lyrics without prejudice that didn't like their music.
And do you believe if i say millions of us got this 00:00 tattooed on our hand/wrist.
Their songs mean just a lot to millions of us.
Today on Oct 15, 4 am CST (6PM in their time). They've held a concert in their country, which is a free concert to promote their home country and help them win the 2030 world expo bid to the host the expo in their country.
So for this concert, thousands of people travelled to korea from all over the world. The whole city lit PURPLE just for BTS. Numerous events, drone shows, parades by govt. officials, hotels and airports welcoming the BTS fans and adding additional flights due to more traffic.
And all the hotels rooms, restaurants, bars being BTS themed.
And 100K people attended this free concert in a Stadium and nearly 70-100 million people watched the live streaming.
The impact of BTS is that at the concert today, we see people of all age groups and nationalities and genders. One of my friends aged 45, a teacher by profession travelled for 24 hours to just watch their concert.
Isn't it crazy how positively they've influenced us.
It's very rare to see a group of men that are intellectual and kind putting out a positive message in the form of their songs and actions to better one's self and better the world.
    And BTS is doing it.
[ Also when i talk about impact, i have to mention that $3.6 Billion is what BTS is worth and contributes to South korean economy each year. 800,000 foreigners visit korea annually just bc of BTS. ]

Long videos are just fine - particularly since you listen attentively to the music and have interesting things to say!
Loving your reactions - you're open, honest and genuinely interested in the music and the message.
For more vocal line (the four singers on this video - Jungkook, Jimin, Jin and V) music, some of which has a similar vibe, would suggest (some of these songs have rap line - RM, Suga and J-Hope participation):
    Film Out
    House of Cards
Their cover of Coldplays Fix You
Their cover of I'll Be MIssing You
    Stay Gold
    Blue and Grey
    Lights
    and lots of others
Each of the vocal line members also have excellent solo work - Jungkook Euphoria, V Singularity, Jimin Serendipity and Lie and Promise, and Jin Epiphany and Moon.
Would also highly recommend both the NPR Tiny Desk concert, Proof Live, MTV live and BBC One live.
There are also excellent live performances of many of these songs - the Japanese ones and MTV and BBC can get blocked for copyright reasons, but your reactions are fair use and you can do things like flip the videos, put text over them or use grids to allow you to use them.

Here is a little backstory on the album that this song came off of. The Map of the Soul series is based on the theory by Swiss Psychologist Carl Jung called Map of the Soul. The Theory is based on 3 principals of ones psyche, the persona, shadow and the Ego. In Jungian philosophy, one's "persona" refers to the identity that we project outward to the world, all the social masks we wear. One's "shadow," however, consists of the parts of ourselves we hide away: our weaknesses and dark parts of ourselves and the Ego is the self actualization of accepting all the parts of us and the bringing together the conscious and unconscious to help you figure out who you are and why you do what you do. You will see many references to their shadows in the album. In addition, each of the members get their own solo song to tell their individual stories. Don't worry about long videos, Army will watch. I love to see someone new to the music hear it, dissect it and give their thoughts. Don't skip the music video either. Lyrics, MV, live performance all tell a story. I recommend Not Today next from their You Never Walk Alone Album. If you play Zero O'clock before you go to bed then put on Not Today in the morning for a pep talk to face the day.

First, I want to thank you again for continuing to explore the BTS discography. It's got something for everyone.
Also, you are confirming my belief that nobody compares to Tennessee music lovers. When I was living there I thought "there must be a music knowledge test they give before allowing anyone to stay here." Maybe it's just all the exposure to such great talent all day, every day, everywhere. In the eight years I lived in and near Nashville I never heard even a mediocre performance. I have lived in New York, Los Angeles, and other big music-focused cities too, but Tennessee outranks them when it comes to just the vast number of incredible musicians and vocalists (anyone who doesn't believe me can just go to the American Legion hall in East Nashville on a Tuesday night to see what I mean). But more than that, local audiences have a level of appreciation for and knowledge of music that's unmatched anywhere else.
I think my time in your state is what allowed this rocker chick to appreciate the talent of BTS. Because their live performances really reveal how much work they put into their music.
Anyway! This song is also one of my top favorites. I also just kept going back a bit to listen again the first time I heard it.

Map of the Soul 7 is basically an album of them taking us through their journey from predebut to where they are,(their ups and downs from the very beginning). It's them doing self reflection. Some of the lyrics in this song though, reflect their thoughts of when they were training. So if you're not an army, you may not catch it and it may not make sense. But despite that, it is still so relatable because everyone have bad days. And since they have become so much bigger, people tend to forget that they're humans with emotions too. The fact that they talk/sing openly about their emotions and feelings is why so many people are drawn to them. Thanks for your reaction and good luck on your journey.

Thanks, P Sin. I feel ignorant and innocent at the same time. But, I'm learning a little more each day. This didn't start as a journey but it's turned into that. It's interesting documenting these videos because I had no idea when I made the first video, black swan. I wasn't mentally prepared. Plus, I've only been in front of the camera for a month.

I stumbled on the Paradise BTS video reaction and I didn’t listen to it, but I went and looked at your channel and looked at your first BTS video. You’ve came along way and I heard you say this is my favourite video/song 😂 and I have to tell you in advance that’s how it goes with BTS every song and video is different. You will notice later that the MV is something and the live song are different experience and also they have choreography videos as well and they are different experience. The BTS journey is something I’ve never seen before or experience it to. BTS has help me a lot with my emotions and how to love and respect myself before doing that for others. The UN speeches are very touching, they’ve done a lot of great things in a space of few years.

I am so sorry for your loss. My husband passed Jan 1 of this year. Losing someone is horrible. Pls be sure to let yourself grieve don't bottle it up (I did that after I lost my mom and sister and her husband died within 4 months of each other, it almost destroyed myself & my fam). Do lots of self care, don't have regrets or feel guilty (just throwing out stuff I felt etc). Learn from them and push them out of your head, they can eat you up. Don't be afraid to reach out to people and talk to people if you need to. And it's also ok to be a wreck and to cry. Know it will be ok. Grief is a process, you don't "get over it", you "work through it". Counselling is great too, helping me a lot. Sorry from dropping unsolicited advice in a comment section but, I just hate that most people are uncomfortable talking about grief and most do not know how to talk to people who are deep in grief, so often they say nothing. I find it super helpful when anyone even asks how I'm doing, that it'll be ok, etc. Also personally, it comforted me when people told stories about him. They say you don't really die until the last time your name is spoken. So yeah idk what your support system is like so the mom in me, who also has a lot of experience with grief in the last 3 years felt like trying to comfort you and give advice. Good luck to you, I sincerely wish you the best, and pls take care of your mental health.

So the title of the album
    Map of the soul
Comes from a book called Jung's Map of the soul written by Murray Stein in the 90s.
It's a text book for students to navigate carl jungs concepts of the self and self development.
Bts used three concepts from the book in the album specially in 6 songs.
    Intro persona and
Boy with luv both about the persona
    Interlude shadow and
    Black swan about the shadow
    Outro ego and
ON both about the integration of the shadow to the ego.

Thank you. I enjoyed your reaction. I hope you continue your BTS journey. A particular style of song may not be a genre that you like. However, when you take time to read the lyrics. It’s like a poem you received from BTS. Doolset BTS is the best place to read the lyrics. The lyric videos are great for identifying the member singing that line in the song. The song Blue & Grey helped me a lot during pandemic lockdown. The song Film Out helped me cope with the loss of a loved one. Hope you check them out. Aloha, from Hawaii. Take care.
