Love it! Playing my extreme classic antique right now as well. Which also has just wonderful wiring. V60 Neck V60 Middle, SSV plus bridge, also split-able with push pull, then a reverse blower switch which adds in the neck single coil no matter what you select. So you can get a Bridge humbucker with a single coil neck... which is an amazing tone! So full, and rich. Also that blower switch keeps it in phase. So in position (neck and middle) I can get both the in phase and out of phase sounds. Love the Eames chair in the corner.
Thanks for the review. I am considering a non-antique version of this guitar with the HSH pickup configuration. Have you tried these pups out through a high gain amp (boogie mk4 or equivalent?) and would you consider them suitable for hard rock/metal tones? tia.
One correction: #2 and #4 position are NOT out of phase as someone says, just simple parallel. Also, the auto-split thing is pretty standard on HSH guitars, so it doesn't deserve that much praise...
Would be cool to hear the difference between the regular classic Pro i've seen in the background vs this guitar with the push/pull splits. I just got a lovely classic pro in shoreline gold and I've contacted Suhr about getting the push/pull mod done to make the humbucker series/parallel. Would you recommend getting it done?
Also there's a difference between splitting the humbuckers and making them series/parallel. The push pull pot should be making the humbuckers go between series and parallel per Suhr which is a different sound than splits. Have you tried comparing the pot pulled in the 2/4 position vs it being pushed in?
Hey there! I would definitely recommend getting it done, it's something I want to do to my sunburst guitar you've seen in the back. I've mistakenly called it a classic pro, its actually a custom classic that they made before the pro line, very very similar specs. I mentioned this on TGP but the mod you are talking about is in a Pete thorn demo from awhile back and I have wanted to do it ever since. Do it let me know how you like it, the only reason I have never sent my guitar in is that I didn't want to be without it for a week or two but know that I have this guitar I can survive a week. :)
Pearloid? I think that's the optional mother of pearl logo... I also have an extra heavy aged Suhr as well. I like it but I think Fender Custom Shop and Murphy Lab do more "authentic" aging jobs... That being said, I love my Suhrs (3) and it would take a real personal or financial catastrophe to get rid of them.
I agree we live in an epic time for instruments and gear.
Personally the best sounding Suhr guitar I’ve heard. That‘s saying something since I‘ve seen dozens of them here on youtube
She's a beauty and I couldn't agree more with your comment on the state of the electric guitar, brother.
Man WHAT an instrument!!

Outstanding versatility
Love that tune at 2:32. Does the Sooze play in a band or does he just write killer riffs without a band to back him?
Bobby Jo he's just a straight up monster on the guitar!!!

Is the SSV really that strident and bright? Love the guitar 😍

ToneJunkie TV will do, luckily I live 20 minutes away from them. They have an 8 week backorder on guitar work so I've got it scheduled for August 👍
How's the "flatness" on the finger board? Still comfy over all?
It's extremely comfortable - I highly recommend trying a compound radius if you've never played one before (this is my guitar, BTW).
I like your videos ! keep going
Thanked for the support Fabien, more is on the way!
Which drive are you using? Great sound!

I should do a video on it, it's an interesting beast. I do play it in the J Rockett .45 caliber review on our channel.

for anyone interested in the spec of the guitar ;)
Hey that's the one I bought!!
There is no clear over the aging. Its aged then buffed is all. The Nitro is over the color.
