  • This busy holiday season, the U.S. Postal Service has delivered more than 10 billion packages and pieces of mail. It takes a lot of workers - and a lot of technology.

I'm a mail carrier, this video explains the process at the major plant. I can assure you that not all the mail comes in order. The process to get your mail out is a big task. There is a big difference in how city and rural route mail is delivered.

My dad was a courier. Knowing how everything is done in detail makes me appreciate the role people have to undertake even more.

This roughly explains what we call DPS mail its mail already in order. Most carriers have to sort their mail by hand. So you can imagine how long that usually takes we have no machine that does it for us just our own hands. The question that gets on my nerves is “what takes you so long” if they come and spend 1 day with the carriers they might understand but I know some people just don’t care

    Inefficiently
10-40% of the letters are upside down, depends on the day. They don’t create stops lists for you, interactive maps etc.

I recently got a letter one year after it was mailed. I think it fell on the floor under a sorting machine, and remained there until someone found it and put it back on its way.

I want to contact the United States post master and tell them I'm not getting my mail. I can see it but it's not iny mailbox. I can see my mail through mobil USPS. So why it's not in my mailbox. I worked for Integrated mail and sorted mail. So I know how to sort mail. I was one of the quickest on the line.
