Killer light build for this frame. I was looking at an El Jefe for more adventure-y bikepacking stuff, but I don’t know about that sliding dropout. Curious if this frame just ain’t great for derailleurs and such. If it’s gonna creak I gotta figure something else out 😅. Nice vid!

Thanks Jeffrey! This bike has been through a lot already and it has never developed any kind of creaking. We’ve also built one that’s not a single speed and no problems there whatsoever as well! In our experience these kind of sliding dropouts are the only ones that actually work well for single speeds as they don’t slide back and forth once they are tightened. We highly recommend the El Jefe, it’s an amazing bike with great manufacture quality 👌🏻

This bike is fantastic! Congratulations. Can you install 27" wheels on this frame?

Thanks! The 27" wheels would make the bottom bracket quite low and it could cause you to hit the ground with pedals easily so we wouldn't suggest it... you might want to look into a Esker Hayduke for 27" wheels

For our local trails we believe that the 32/20 ratio is ideal, it's also what this bike is set up with, but it would of course depend on your fitness and type of trails you ride...
