The Orphan fight starts around 22 minutes if you just want to view that *Btw, I totally jacked up the lore interpretation 😑 so uh, ignore that mistake! I'll be re-reading some of yours again that are spoiler free* Phew, this episode was rough! 😓
I read the title of this episode and thought to myself, "Yep. That's how this goes" lol. Seriously though, Orphan of Kos is arguably the toughest boss in all of the Soulsborne games. So if you defeat him, then you can encourage yourself by thinking if I can beat him, then I can beat anything these games have to throw at me. At least, that's how it worked for me lol. Edit: Whoops. I didn't finish the Orphan of Kos part before I posted my comment. Congrats on defeating Orphan of Kos! I remember when I did it I shouted like a madman because I couldn't believe that I had finally done it haha.
Brief summary *_"Newborn baby with placenta literally to angry to die, woman allegedly kills baby with twin swords covered in lightning, 'I was trying kill Lawrence', says the woman"_*
I watched the first episode of this playthrough a little while back, and I must say, you've evolved tremendously! Bloodborne is one of my favorite games ever and you've done me proud! You've shown outstanding heart and dedication to a game most people would quit otherwise. Watching you struggle, is why we enjoy seeing you succeed. 😀
32:12 And THIS, ladies and gents, is why I love FromSoft games. The feeling you get when you finally defeat that boss that's been keeping you on a salty run-back loop is unparalleled, and there's no other game that's given it to me. Thank you Miyazaki san!
That happened to me in all of the games. In DS1 Ornstein and Smough, DS2 it was Elana, DS3 Nameless king and in Bloodborne the Blood Starved Beast. YES THE BLOOD STARVED BEAST WAS MY HARDEST BOSS IN MY FIRST RUN
Fyi he was a racist piece of shit. While his contribution to horror is unmistakable, let's not celebrate his legacy too hard as his hatred is the thing actually living on in 2018.
He was a man of his times, back then pc culture didn't exist. His contributions to horror genre are too big to just ignore simply because Lovecraft lived in different times. That's like saying Tolkien was sexist because the entire fellowship of the ring was male only.
It always cracks me up whenever you defeat a boss. Your parting words to them is oftentimes a resounding "F--- you!" :D YYYeyyy! It's good that you've gotten past the Orphan of Kos. His screams are starting to sound like an angry mother-in-law throwing a fit and it's getting embedded in my head like a bad case of last song syndrome lol... Congrats! Good job Marz! :)
Now that you've beaten the Orphan I'll continue with the lore: Kos was an Old Great One that washed up on shore of the Fishing Hamlet long, long ago. She was deep into her pregnancy, but because Great One's can't have children she ended up dying. The villagers began to worship Kos and harvested the parasites from her corpse. And by doing so kind of brought a "rebirth" if you will to Kos since the villagers knew she was pregnant and wanted mercy for the unborn child. Around this time Byrgenwerth were studying the Great Ones and Willem was desperately searching for an Umbilical Cord of a Great One. The scholars and Hunters came to the village and did gruesome experiments on the people. When they found Kos' corpse it is believed that the hunters tore the Orphan or at least the Umbilical Cord from the womb ending whatever chance it may have had at life. Gehrman and Maria were among the hunters who committed this horrible act. Which caused all hunters to be cursed by Kos. That was the soul of the Orphan which is now free to return to the ocean and the curse is lifted. Thank you for playing this amazing game!
It may be some speculation but most of what he says is pretty well backed up from a lot of the items and surrounding areas. The accursed brew is a skull that was priced open by someone looking for eyes on the inside, exactly what Willem looked for. Maria was in charge of the research patients and the experiments done to them. She was sickened by what they did and threw her weapon away. The fishing village beckoned the great one that washed up because remember their consciousness resides on a higher plane irregardless of the body they inhabit and they are sympathetic in nature and respond when called upon, and were called to curse the hunters who were terrorizing the village. So a lot of speculation and theory crafting, but it is backed up by most of the lore we know about for sure.
Dustin B Only contentions I have with Metalman's narrative are 1: Nowhere is it stated that the villagers extracted the parasites nor interacted with them in any way whatsoever except than noticing that Kos' carcass was infested by them. And 2: Nowhere is it stated that the hunters killed the orphan or interacted with it in any way, nor is there ever any mention of any umbilical cord belonging to the Orphan. Your own narrative is all over the place and straight up wrong in some regards, so go figure.
Daisuke Yoshioka he just straight up vomited everything redgrave and vaatyvidya says. Its not his speculation either. Dont get me wrong its a cool theory and I some things I agree with, buuut its just a theory.
Two toughest fights in the game for me were the Bloody Crow and Orphan Of Kos. Beating both of those is a giant accomplishment. Huge congrats (been enjoying the let's play from the start, shared a lot of the same reactions from the first time playing)!
When Laurence goes last phase and is crawling around on the ground, stay on his right/your left. He will pretty much just circle you and you can avoid a lot of his attacks.
I don't think I'd call it "safe distance". He definitely can hit you from that far away with his spraying attack. So it's reasonable she is nervous even when further away.
Congratulations Marz for your fight against the orphan of Kos!!! I have finished the game yesterday : all bosses, all side quests, all the DLC, and all the Chalice dungeons. That's a wonderful game! :-)
You should try "Make Contact" getsure with "Brain of Mensis" down that elevator. And you should wait for a minute in that getsure :D Anyway you can do it after killing it, it doesn't have to be physically present. And you'll get the full Moon Caryll Rune.
Yeah I killed it too xD But after that I tried the getsure and it gave me the Moon Rune. And for the Laurence, he was the hardest boss of my entire life :))))) But don't give up on him, I was the happiest person in the world after beating him :D
To be more precise, use the "Make Contact" gesture where the Brain of Mensis is (doesn't have to be alive) and wait until your hunter rotates her arms (takes a minute or two).
Congratulations, you're actually very good at at Bloodborne. You've earned a sub, now I'm going to go watch this playthrough from the start. I'm not exaggerating, it took me about 30-40 tries to beat Kos, BUT it was because I tried to do it without using any Blood Vials and mostly using Parries and Regain Health and Bullets on Viscerals.
Really man considering she plays these games for a long time it really bugs me to see her have such an atrocious stamina management. It is painful to watch sometimes.
@@xxpvssyd3str0y3rxx5 Well i guess i can give her props for at least trying and having the patience to play these games. I had some friends of mine pick the game when it was free on ps store and gave it up after a day they couldnt even kill a single of the twin wolves at start after playing for hours. Meanwhile i had already finished the game 11 times.
She still better than most gamers. Just look at the stats of achievements for the harder boss for the whole souls borne, its like 10% or so. And thats for the owner of these games so they are confident in being good enouph to beat these games since they bought it, but they are not.
She has ridiculous amount stamina and already above 120, normal level por dlc and first playthrough is like 80 and still struggling with the bosses like damn lol, but yeah I can just give her props for finishing the actual game even tho she barely improved, is probably cause she didn’t played it all days like we did haha
Its good to see real emotion when you,ve beaten a tough boss like orphan of kos and i like to see that. You have really excelled at this great game.I have really enjoyed your playthrough so far and don,t give up on laurence, well done:D

Nice you beat the orphan! Laurence was harder to me too >< btw the best way to kill the singing brain ladies it's with a heavy weapon like ludwig's sword because they can't hug you when you hit they, if you don't want to fight with they you can use the blue elixir and walk slowly
I made 100% progress on the main campaign and DLC a few days ago, and it was definitely the best experience I've had on PS4. And then, I met your channel, and the content is really great, you are so kind, charismatic and fun! I mean, you rock, have sure about that. 😄
So first of all, congratulations on defeating the orphan of kos!! Second, I can't imagine having the general pressure of defeating a hard boss, but to also have pressure from your audience..(to get the content) I think this made your achievement today even greater! We all are very excited for these episodes, but I also think most of us understand that you have good and bad days playing BB, it's ok to step away from it for a couple of days to come back with a fresh mind:)
I really love watching gameplay of Bloodborne. I'm at the edge of my seat for every single boss fight as if I was the one playing! I put over 200 hours into this game myself and still love watching others celebrate their victories in this game. Congratulations Marz! :)
Literally just killed the orphan of kos this morning. Cant count how many times he ended me. Felt so good learning his moves and beating him. Got greedy at the end when he had an inch of life left. He could have punished me for that or I could have run out of stamina but it appears everything that needed to be was in alignment thank goodness
Great video! Congrats on Orphan's defeat! This is why Bloodborne is something else, your reaction was priceless after you finally did it. I have a tip for Laurence. Play patient and I mean like reaaally patient, cause he will fuck you up in seconds if you get greedy on him. Examine his patterns and look for safe windows. You can land 2-3 hits after he puts his arm in the ground and pulls it out with aoe damage. Buy "Bone Marrow Ash" from bath vendors it will boost your gun damage significantly. Shoot his head with it, once you dealt enough damage on his head you can get visceral on him.
Kos had me on the verge of giving up. Looks like you beat him way quicker than I did. Great job. I am a very late comer to this game. I just started in 2021 and I have become obsessed lol.
Oh boy, I knew this thumbnail and episode title would come sooner or later lol Edit: omg Marz you did it! OoK is amazingly hard and you pulled it off, you are something else! I beat Orphan first as well...Laurence is still the hardest for me!
Good job beating this awesome piece of dlc! Don’t forget to go back to Oedon Chapel’s basement and kill Arianna’s infant great one to obtain its umbilical cord (your second cord, out of the 4 obtainable in the game). You need the insight from 3 umbilical cords to have a shot at the game’s real final boss. You’ve already missed one for good when you killed the fake Yosefka, but the final cord is unmissable, so you’re still good.
That was the best Bloodborne boss fight I ever watched. With all the tension and frustration leading into it, it was totally epic. And to beat him in under 10 attempts is very impressive indeed. Very close to the end!
"I can't believe this you guys have no idea" OH, we know. That bastard has killed me more than maybe any boss in any game (Though Frieda in DS3 is ugh). I've killed him maybe a dozen times now but man the first time. whew. Great job!
I'm addicted to your gameplay. I know exactly the feeling you had when you defeated Orphan Of Kos. It was my reaction too lol. Bloodborne is a masterpiece and you made me feel the nostalgia of the days I started playing this game five years ago. You're amazing, girl.
Been waiting for this episode since last week! Me and my friend was inspired to play BB after watching your BB videos, completed my NG+7 just last week. I got the old hunters DLC just recently and I wished I played the DLC during my very first playthrough and not in NG+7. Enjoyed all your BB videos. Congrats on beating the Orphan, that was intense.
Congratz Marz! The Orphan is no joke, but I have to say I was a bit disappointed by its visual design. I was expecting a giant incomprehensible tentacle monster, but instead I basically fought "The Internet": a giant white man-baby screaming in my face constantly while trying to beat me to death with his "mommy issues". As for Laurence, I found that in his final form sticking to his right side (to your left if he's facing you) seemed to work the best. His right arm is shorter, and when he does the lunging smashes if you're at his side he tends to crawl in a circle around you, giving you free hits. Being next to him also keeps you out of the way of his front and back lava sprays. Also if you're wearing fire-resistant gear, treading on the lava doesn't do heaps of damage; it can still stun you a bit, but I found it wasn't too bad so you don't need to panic too much if you tread in it accidentally. That said, I did end up killing him by unloading my gun into him for the last bit of his health bar. Much safer than trying to get close enough for one last melee hit. Bone Marrow Ash helps if your Bloodtinge is low.
You don't give up girl! I really like that, that you can fight the same boss over and over and over and over again. No matter how many times you fail. You're not quiting before they're dead
So typical that this uploaded when I was asleep and didn't see this until I came back from being out all day. Awesome episode :). I could feel your pain and frustration :( :p. Well done getting past Orphan, loved the reaction to beating it as well as the montage against Laurence. That boss took me a few days to finally beat on my 1st run so no shame in not beating him yet. I'm sure you'll get him soon :D.
Wow. In the past I’ve thought that Marz often seems to get quite lucky with bosses as they appear to use way more moves when I try… but you just beat the orphan after 9 tries? It took me… a lot more… like a lot! And he used his full arsenal! Girl has skills with bosses. Fair play to you. Whooped him.
" What? What is this?! Died 20+ times to Laurence?!! Casual much? Maybe making a sandwich wouldnt give you this much trouble? " iD, Lucid, JD, Barth...I jest 😜 Girl...Im proud of what youve accomplished. Never doubted for a moment you had it in you, glad youre finally realizing youre skilled at this. Until our next sparring session, take care 👋
There is precious little left in the main game, so really Lawrence is the next step, however if it does start taking too long there is a number of NPCs quest-lines yet to finish, one in particular needs to be completed in order to fight the true last boss in the game. So ask around your followers about how to finish them, Adeline has a strange reward, Gilbert since he's the first NPC you meet, Alfred and Queen Annalice has a very interesting resolution, but Arianna's is specially important.
After watching this play through of Bloodborne I’m beyond impressed with your dedication and determination to consistently get better at the combat of this game!! I have only beaten Dark souls 3 and Elden Ring and I know that amazing feeling of beating a from software game so well done Marz!!
Orphan of kos another lesson in parry, first stage very easy to parry, and also well timed back stabs/visceral attack quite simple, father gasgoine beast form made simple with parry also. The only real trouble bosses i found were laurence and headless bloodletting beast, they're just cheap and unforgiving.
I told you in a previous video that Laurence was the biggest pain in the ass boss for me. It seems to look like that for you now as well hehe. Btw, who else was cracking up at the end knowing that Marz swings her swords at everything; even when she's not supposed to. However, the one time she is supposed to swing her swords at the phantom/shadow to end the nightmare slain, she doesn't swing. So funny Marz.. Anyways, great job on producing entertaining content.
I really need to play the DLC for Bloodborne. I started Bloodborne around same time as you did and found your channel and completed main story and did 2 of the endings and started work on the Chalice dungeons and just took a break after getting all hunter weapons trophy. I watched a bunch of your videos and you got really good and inspiring. It was awesome watching your skill and master develop while i worked on mine too. I'm going to dive back in soon wish me luck. Great Channel!
@@stronkbad5007 TR games expand a little, but they're basically more of the same (good as it may be). With Dark Souls every game is unique and essential to the experience of the next one. Also people keep watching DS playthroughs no matter what year it is ;)
@@omnisemantic1 I disagree. You can play dark souls 3 without the others... also from an entertainment perspective , more viewers want to see 3 rather than the less good looking 1 and 2
If it’s my little summary of the lore you were talking about, you might wanna give it another read, coz you got some things switched up =) The Orphan is not Gehrman’s soul. It is the great one Kos’ unborn infant that Gehrman and his students went to retrieve under Byrgenwerth’s orders, so that Master Willem could have its umbilical cord. Bloodborne actually doesn’t deal with the concept of soul. If you meant Gehrman’s conscience, though, it is trapped in the Hunter’s Dream, not the Hunter’s Nightmare. Gehrman might even still be alive in the waking world, just like Willem is, rocking in his chair, overlooking Rom’s lake =D EDIT: fixed Gehrman’s name, which I always end up spelling wrong for some reason.
Congrat on beating the orphan! It was a good fight besides a bit of spamming the dodge button in panic but we all do that sometimes, especially in the dlc 😅
she completely screwed up that Moon rune side quest you were supposed to stand in front of its biggest eye, and do the "make contact" gesture in front of it until it gives it to you
Alejandro Cabrera I time a charge thrust attack as she is preparing to grab me, it knocks her out of it. Immediately charge another attack as she tries again. Two charge attacks from transformed Ludwig's Blade kills her if it's fully upgraded with nice gems.
Hilarious ! but you missed item(s) first should had use contact gesture for as long as switching hands in front of the brain of mensis (his EYE to be precise) but no worries here ;) , then that blood rock! Ooo so close yet far! also congrats on Silencing the endless cry of the orphan! now Laurence and the Nurse + you've got the Queen too ;) also that editing skills 👍
The Orphan fight starts around 22 minutes if you just want to view that

*Marz struggling with Bloodborne is everything* 😭
Thank you for the entertainment Marz ❤️❤️❤️
This is one of my all time favorited let's play's ever!
you have grown so so much into this game!!!
-amazing
Use Sedatives to stop Frenzy and Blue Elixir to avoid “lalala” ladies
32:19 and it is satisfaction like that where Bloodborne is an amazing game that will change your life
"I can't believe this you guys have no idea"
OH, we know. That bastard has killed me more than maybe any boss in any game (Though Frieda in DS3 is ugh). I've killed him maybe a dozen times now but man the first time. whew. Great job!
Stares in darkeater midir
I'm addicted to your gameplay. I know exactly the feeling you had when you defeated Orphan Of Kos. It was my reaction too lol.
Bloodborne is a masterpiece and you made me feel the nostalgia of the days I started playing this game five years ago. You're amazing, girl.
Now its time to play Dark Souls III. An amaaaazing game!!! Youll love it!
GabGamerZ I'm playing both Bloodborne and DS3, amazing games 😍
Well I mean she might be disappointed of 3 after playing bloodborne
I dont know man after playing bloodborne the combat and everything its just hard to go back to dark souls, lets just wait for Sekiro.
she should start with ds1
Mr. Shigoto nah, they're pretty different but one isn't greater than the other(in my opinion).
A toast to you Marzzz, on achieving the victory over Orphan of Kos!! This video made my day
You just beat what many consider to be the hardest boss in gaming great job, stunning eyes by the way.
32:04 - That was intense.
I like a lot how you growl and scream and roar because that is what we all do, you are a true gamer.
Take your racist shit out of here.
Signed, a brown man.
@@jasoncarto He's a "male feminist," which means he's probably compensating for some previous sex crime against women. 🙄
Ga-head and keep your racist crap out of the comment section.
You don't give up girl! I really like that, that you can fight the same boss over and over and over and over again. No matter how many times you fail. You're not quiting before they're dead
lol your thumbnails are like a chart of the stages of grief
backfandango progressively worse over time
26:18 this is how intense the game is! You’re looking at the enemy and saying “where are you” .. game doesn’t give you a moment to breath😂
yay more bloodborne!!!!
Congrats marz!!! you did well :) cant wait for the next video :)
Marz you are amazing at this game so much fun watching you play!
27:05 you were really sooo close!!!!
27:10 siii a mi también me molesta esos momentos, conosco esos momentos que llegan a irritar 😅
I don’t speak taco
Yeaaaa get it girl! Huge accomplishment right there 👏🏼😁
Marz do the "make contact" gesture to the large brain you were hitting until it's done with the gesture but oh well u killed it
Davy Jones Locker It comes back
Ggs! For some reason I killed kos on my first try. Bl 60 lol maria almost broke my will lmao Laurence was a nightmare also
You didn’t kill kos, you killed her son.
ok.. that might have been the single cutest reaction to the defeat of a bloodborne boss I've evr seen :D
" What? What is this?! Died 20+ times to Laurence?!! Casual much? Maybe making a sandwich wouldnt give you this much trouble? "
iD, Lucid, JD, Barth...I jest 😜
Girl...Im proud of what youve accomplished. Never doubted for a moment you had it in you, glad youre finally realizing youre skilled at this.
Until our next sparring session, take care 👋
I really hope this channel blows up!
There is precious little left in the main game, so really Lawrence is the next step, however if it does start taking too long there is a number of NPCs quest-lines yet to finish, one in particular needs to be completed in order to fight the true last boss in the game. So ask around your followers about how to finish them, Adeline has a strange reward, Gilbert since he's the first NPC you meet, Alfred and Queen Annalice has a very interesting resolution, but Arianna's is specially important.
nailin18 I'm still bitter that Annelise refused my marriage proposal.
That fight was poetry in motion. You get a standing ovation.
hahahaha the intro is great, thanks for you effort.
I have to admitted, that face really really mad it's just funny and thats the first reason why I suscribed to the channel
I remember taking this guy down on my third attempt, god knows how lol must’ve been my 20th attempt to take down Ludwig
16:41 when I don't get what I asked for on chistmas
26:05 when I get what I asked for on christmas
If you choose to complete it, can you upload the defiled chalice dungeon on RUclips?
Bunny S Bloodletting Beastie yay :)
I didn't think it was possible to beat Orphan's second phase on the first try. I tip my hat to you, keen hunter.
You didnt make contact with mother brain long enough :(
I told you in a previous video that Laurence was the biggest pain in the ass boss for me.
What a journey this game was, cant wait for part 2 on PS5.
I second dark souls 3
Why not start from the beginning though? Nothing in DS3 makes even a lick of sense if you haven't played at least the original game...
@@omnisemantic1 She didn't start from the beginning with the Tomb Raider series...
@@stronkbad5007 TR games expand a little, but they're basically more of the same (good as it may be). With Dark Souls every game is unique and essential to the experience of the next one. Also people keep watching DS playthroughs no matter what year it is ;)
@@omnisemantic1 I disagree. You can play dark souls 3 without the others... also from an entertainment perspective , more viewers want to see 3 rather than the less good looking 1 and 2
@@KoolKrushIce Nobody who watches DS does it for the looks lol
I wish I could hit the like button 20 times. So Happ for you, Marz! Keep on kickin' ass!
If it’s my little summary of the lore you were talking about, you might wanna give it another read, coz you got some things switched up =)
The Orphan is not Gehrman’s soul. Gehrman might even still be alive in the waking world, just like Willem is, rocking in his chair, overlooking Rom’s lake =D
EDIT: fixed Gehrman’s name, which I always end up spelling wrong for some reason.
I totally did XD
Don't worry, I've already facepalmed multiple times after uploading. Gotta re-read.
Marz glad to be of help =)
Oh I felt happy for you and feel your frustration. But it was so cool when you killed it. "Very good, very good indeed". Your fan from Brazil!

I’m in love..........😳😍
Discovered your channel couple of days ago. I'm already hooked. "Famous last words" That text edit was gold. 😂
Marz vs the Nameless king anyone?
Marz vs slave knight Gael?
Congrat on beating the orphan!
It was a good fight besides a bit of spamming the dodge button in panic but we all do that sometimes, especially in the dlc 😅
I wonder how mother Kos boss fight could been.
INSANE! 😭
Nothing TBH. She was a nice Great one.
Ur channel is awesome Marz always enjoy watching ur vids
Perfect! next game DARK SOUL 🤐
Ayyyyyy that was great! Can't wait until I get there and suffer the same frustrations lol.
she completely screwed up that Moon rune side quest
you were supposed to stand in front of its biggest eye, and do the "make contact" gesture in front of it until it gives it to you
jerq887 To be fair, the average person wouldn’t know to do that.. especially if this your 1st FromSoftware game
OMEKS yeah exactly not even a pro would know until he thinks outside the box . Who randomly thinks about going up to a brain and doing a gesture
That orphan fight was so epic !! Good job and best of luck beating Lawrence. Can't wait for the next episode
Use poison knives against winter lanterns
Hola!!
Olala señor francés xD
Que pedo amigo
You’re pretty fast
Pensaba que era el único hispano que veía este canal
After all your hard work this episode, you earned my like lol. I think this is the happiest you've been since maria
