    The search bar in the Taskbar, Start Menu and Settings App look totally different from each other in terms of design and roundness. The Settings App has the Magnifying glass on the right side of the text, while everywhere else it is one the left. The Magnifying glass has the glass on the top left in the search bar but on the result page it is still to the right. I don't know how you can be more inconsistent than Microsoft, their design team is a total mess.

      Add File Explorer to the list where the search box has sharp corners, has icon tilted the other way and is different size than rest of the icons. Seems like each team/app implements its own version rather than all teams using the same shared component.

      They could just replace it with Bing AI Chat instead, since normal Windows Search is already in Start Menu, but currently not integrated yet. Still on Insider Build only which is recently removed as well for some reason, maybe bugs?
      Though that means the icon has to change since normal magnifying icon will confuse users thinking it's normal Wimdows Search.
      Though this needs further test as some users rely on having g dedicated Windows Search on the Taskbar being always visible. Microsoft has to start campaigning that Wimdows Search is on Start Menu again like it used to be from Vista to 7.

    I'm pretty shocked by Microsoft's priorities when it comes to Windows. It has an absurd amount of functions and settings that urgently needed improvements and revisions, and its priority is one (or four) search button, which NOBODY ASKED FOR. Comparing Windows today with other operating systems, it seems very much like it is stuck in time, an old and outdated system, which needs to evolve a lot what in other systems is already basic.

      With all do respect, nothing you have stated is backed up by any data and is all personal opinion e.g. "functions and settings that urgently needed improvements and revisions," - like what? Why are these urgent? Who decided that? And re: to Search "NOBODY ASKED FOR," like where are you seeing people ask for things? Seach has the MOST potential for them financially vs., I dunno, revising settings? Where's the money in that?

    • @GabrielOliveira-mx5ev
      @GabrielOliveira-mx5ev Год назад +9

      @@danielrubino8474 With all due respect, you're kidding, right? Of course it's my opinion. Spoilers for you, but neither do I (or anyone else) need to present scientific data to support any opinion. Anyway my comment comes from a point of view that takes into account the user experience, but if you still need arguments to understand my point ok here are some:
      - The system settings is a complete mess: We have the "control panel" and the "settings" to do the same thing.
      - All system interface design is disorganized, we still have windows 98 icons and all the others that came later scattered throughout the system.
      - Tabs, which is an extremely basic thing that has been introduced in Windows 11 a short time ago (and is still being introduced), a function that has existed for years in several other systems and browsers.
      - Windows 11 itself removed several functions that facilitated the user experience, examples: Drag and drop, additional options on the taskbar (right click), MOVE the taskbar and etc.
      Anyway these are just a few functions that yes, IN MY OPINION (and many people who use windows) are missing in the system.
      I don't know how much this affects you, but for me, who uses Windows every day for work, a system that I PAID to use, there are many things that leave something to be desired at the end of the day.

    • @uhohadam
      @uhohadam Год назад +2

      @@GabrielOliveira-mx5ev I agree with you abt control panel but it's nice to have it still there to uninstall apps. The 98 icons are still in Windows 10, 7 so it's not that big of a deal although it should be phased out at some point.
      The tabs are good, macOS doesn't have them, so not sure what you're on about.
      Drag and drop does work, I literally just dragged a photo into a word document and dragging from apps to the taskbar to another app also works fine. The taskbar is better, it's less complicated and still has right click for settings and task manager. Dunno why you want to move the taskbar mate. Whilst some functions may be missing, instead of moaning about it, post a suggestion in Feedback Hub, I'm sure you'll get some upvotes.

    • @bluejay568
      @bluejay568 Год назад +2

      I fully agree with some things you said. But… I mean, I don’t think there is reason to believe that’s where their priorities solely lie, and I think it’s a bit of an exaggeration to say Windows is like an outdated system compared to other systems 😄. That said, I fully agree that it certainly needs to evolve and that it had been evolving in a conservative and slow manner since Windows 10. It actually felt like they were kinda coasting a bit. Don’t quote me on this but if I remember correctly, it’s partially due to Satya Nadella’s deeper focus on the much much more lucrative Azure and the cloud. That is not a bad thing in itself, but I think it probably gave the Windows team less of a budget which as a result gave the team less of an incentive to make deeper changes.
      It’s important to note that Windows still has a lot of complicated and messy dependencies that make it difficult for the developers to make changes without potentially breaking something. They have to carefully address an entangled ball of old code while ensuring that the OS doesn’t become buggy or insecure, which is obviously more important. Not an easy task, but I think we’re starting to see a shift. They have already been decoupling a lot of those strange dependencies and modernizing the code and there is no sign of them stopping. Not only will this allow them to make the OS more stable, but it will also allow them to continue making things feel more consistent, which is what you, me, and everyone wants.
      May I ask what version of Windows you’re using? Some of those controversial issues that you listed aren’t really issues with Windows 11 anymore except for maybe moving the taskbar.

    Now that Bing is getting more conversationally intelligent, it seems like a no-brainer to port that functionality into a Cortana chat on Windows. Maybe even integrate it into that simplified Teams chat window as one of your contacts, just like the chat bots that already exist on legacy Teams.
    The UX improvements for touch definitely seem like steps in the right direction. This should be the sort of stuff Microsoft focuses on, not endless inconsistent styling tweaks like removing transparency effects and changing everything from rounded corners to pill shapes.
    Next up, I want to see media apps like Photos and Groove/Media Center get major upgrades. They were amazing in 2017 and have since been systematically nerfed down to nothing.

    I WANT to use the Teams Chat Integration but the fact that this is still just for personal use absolutely blows my mind and I still can not and will not understand why Microsoft isn’t offering that for work accounts… No one uses Teams to chat with their friends. And if you do: Why? We have sooo many instant messaging services now that have been around way longer. We don’t need a personal version of Teams.
    I’m sorry but this really triggers me that Microsoft is so stubborn and won’t bring this really actually useful feature to the version of Teams that actually makes them money.
    It’s so frustrating…

    • @raracool04
      @raracool04 Год назад

      Part of it is definitely trying to encourage people to use personal Teams, but also the reason they’re not letting people use it for Teams for business is because there are much less features in Teams personal than Teams business. In order to have Teams be built in, it had to be rewritten entirely, from Electron to Edge WebView. That’s a small project for personal Teams, but a MASSIVE undertaking for business Teams. Business Teams has 3rd party integrations, from a load of different companies. This fact alone makes it very hard to migrate to an entirely new foundation. Not to mention, it is much more important for business Teams to work reliably and bug free than personal Teams.
      I understand your gripes of course, half of the complaints about no business Teams support wouldn’t exist if instead of using the Teams name they used the Skype name, I think. However, it is not without reason that Teams for business isn’t built in.

    Windows 11 should come with multiple versions. For extreme productivity optimizations, extreme gaming optimizations, and even network based OS. The tradeoffs using one combination is making OSX and lighter unusable operating systems seem like an undeniable option in many use cases, due to resources being excessive cached for different user use cases. Windows was designed for productivity in mind and later still managed to outperform at graphical intensive tasks.
    A lot more user satisfaction can be achieved when the company properly optimizing the os for both use cases, not hindering functions, but making them optional, improving an overall experience. Then can easily achieve even more participation from the market in their os, just as they did with consoles.
