      I like Denzel and have seen 90% of his movies. But I had no idea when I watched Blackkkklansman that this guy was his son. I didn't really follow the talks shows and promotions of this movie when it had released and watchdd this movie in Blueray. I was watching it as it was a Spike Lee movie. And now in this quarantine time, I was following Tenet movie and saw one of his interviews and was literally shocked after realizing he is Denzel
      's son. And now, I see the similarities but otherwise I think he has very less of Denzel style and has managed to create his own style of acting. Great work, waiting to watch Tenet in theaters!!!!

    I thought Blackkklansman was a great movie and thought this man played his role perfect. I had no idea this man was Denzel Washington’s son. Glad I didn’t know at the time tbh, I probably would have easily been biased just for the fact that Denzel is his Dad lol. Gj congrats!

      If the point of the movie was to make people realize racism is still alive today, why did they have such comical racist characters? Why not depict real racism?

      Because actual racism is, at it's core, a joke. The best thing you can do to your enemy is point out the sillyness of their argument. To portray them as simply evil may have inspired them, because they view evil as justice.

    • @zarpthunder
      @zarpthunder 5 лет назад +3

      William Cortelyou it’s not a joke though. It’s a real problem that hurts real people. Evil is always based on perspective. I’m not saying to portray them as evil. I’m saying if the main goal is to make people realize it’s alive and well today to portray them as real people not comic book characters.

      You've never talked to a klansman then. They are basically comic book bad guys. They believe they are superior beings, and are chosen by God to rule the Earth. You are right, this issue is serious and needs to be treated as such. However, comic relief let's the message sink in better then droning on and on, on virtue. It's simply more entertaining. No racist is going to watch this movie, and simply not be a racist. That simply does not happen. It does however resonate with people unaware of these issues, which is the real fight. The old generation is set in stone. Make the next one better. Turn racism into the joke it really is. In the future, that's what it will be. Just a joke.

    • @zarpthunder
      @zarpthunder 5 лет назад

      William Cortelyou no I’ve never talked to a klansman. I’ve talked to actual racist people who are still alive today. There are people who are borderline racist. Everything isn’t black and white, it’s not either you’re an old racist who will never learn or you’re a woke ass person who needs to filter things through comedy. There are people in their 20’s who are racist too.
      You’re correct. Nobody who is racist is going to watch this movie and stop trying to be racist. And that’s the entire problem. The movie doesn’t solve anything. It only perpetuates the divide between people. And if your goal is to divide people, you’re no better than trump really.

I saw the film where they met on movie about Wilma Rudolph. 1st time seeing Denzel & thought wow he's so cute, but didn't know who he was & figured never see again being in a made for TV movie. He played Wilma's 1st boyfriend & he was a dream boyfriend so sweet & kind to her when they were just kids, poor, & she had polio. Thank goodness I was wrong about his acting career going forward! LOL Anyway, she said no nannies for her! Seen her a couple of yrs ago in a Lifetime movie playing Kevin Durant's grandmother. He has mom looks, dad vocals & both acting DNA - he's blessed!

LOL He mentioned cheap butt Sizzlers in the clip! LOL I also remembered Paula saying like 25+ yrs. ago, Denz hated when the family spent good $$ on him alone when the $$ truly started flowing on the regular! Which suggests he remember the struggle, being a black actor & H'wood in general, he wanted to keep the $$ for the family & not on him!

    Note to the Washingtons....Good job, Denzel & Pauletta. You've raised a fine man despite Hollywood. But knowing the background and family Christian Values...not the least surprised here. God Bless you all. I used to work on the Columbia Lot/ Sony. Denzel and I passed each other and did the brother's "nod" and I went my way and he to his offices on the film lot. Thalberg Building, where he'd come in on the South gate...walking with a huge carry bag, scripts and etc...it was a cool day. Same happened with Will (Smith) another time..."Hancock". It was a chance encounter but to see actors without the entourage, very special. I respected his personal privacy as most on a film lot will do, because he was going to work. As was I, IT specialist for Xerox on the former MGM Lot in CC. So to see the interview, very special. To know he did it on his own, I'm sure that's very satisfying for the family. Godspeed, young actor. Do well...

      @@MrShowtym Loved me some Ricky Jarret! He was a sorry arse boyfriend, scared of his mom (always thought they'd have her on an episode given she acted b4 having kids - no nannies for her), & especially loved he saved & watched his $$! Missed final season tho'. Last I seen ma act was as Kevin Durant's grandmother on his life on Lifetime.

    If anyone should succeed the iconic Chadwick Boseman (Rest in power) as T'Challa/Black Panther, it should be John David Washington. This is considering that his dad Denzel was a father figure to Chad.

    I am Italian, black people are in very small numbers over here compared to the States but I just cannot understand the idiotic racism that exist to this day in America. I understand often behind racism hides ignorance and fear but this extreme hatred for someone who just happens to have a different skin colour is evil. On the subject of actor John David Washington, he definitely inherited the acting talent but he is is own man and I think he is funnier than his dad (I suppose they"ve had very different upbringing...)

      mean well done mom too? Looks like ma sounds like pa! She acted before the kids & quit - no nannies! They both did a great job, 4 kids, 4 college grads w/ Morehouse, Yale, NYU, & U of PA. Given Denz was working, I give more credit for kid raising to ma! LOL
