guillaume martin was in for top 10 two years ago and simon geschke nearly missed out on the polka dot jersey last year by a few points. i d say the problem is more with the organizers that there are very few stages for pure sprinters or break away riders. So naturally a team of the second row that doesnt have a world class specialist for sprints or tt misses out on stages.

@scpython1 Because Jumbo has made it perfectly clear that they're riding for the GC and even Wout has made it clear that he's not riding for the green. I don't understand why all the GCN commentators are so perplexed by UAE pushing to control the stage. They understand that they can't drop Vingo in the mountains, so they have to steal all of the bonus seconds (mt. top & finish) that they can. Being in front of Vingo is critical to their success. If they fall behind in week 2, they will have little to no options for making up time.
Their plan b consists of Yates being close enough in GC so that UAE can one - two Vingo if they need to.

Getting sick of a TDF winner who can’t attack or go with Pogi because he’s teamate wants to win… really hope Wout wins soon so Jonas can concentrate on winning the tour.

This is about winning the GC, anything else is below it. Stop crying and blaming Jonas for not doing something that would A) be stupid and B) Not his job.

The GC competition… you may see just a few moves over 3 weeks, where there’s some riveting action, and the yellow jersey is decided.
Let’s see which next other seizes the moment to let us know he’s HIM! 🫡
