Congratulations I hope you like it and it serves you well for many years to come! Mine has served me amazingly, sadly I don’t use it as much as I planned to, I mostly do shop work and only have around 50 bours on my machine
Great video, followed you for a while now, question, can you add a remote and remote switch to these? The holes are there like the 250, but the button/connections aren’t, would that be something I could do or go to a dealership?
I’ve noticed that aswell in the past but I’ve never seen one on anyone else’s machines and it is not mentioned in the manual so I don’t think that’s a option on it
Hi all my WELDING EQUIPMENT was stolen. Could you PLEASE send me a check list if what I can buy from your store. With a checklist I'm assuring myself not to forget anything. It's so maddening!! I need to replace my things ASAP and I believe this bus my best quickest route. I do have some ins to help with my process. Thank you. I do not even have my jackets gloves...its that damn bad! Thank you for your time
No it doesn’t have an arc force control on this machine, it has a coarse arc but it isn’t any different feeling than any other Lincoln machine I’ve used that doesn’t have a ace force control, it’s manageable though. The thinnest is would try to weld with would be 3/16 metal because even with skinny rods it still wants to burn through but once you get used to the machine it’s easy to figure out what you need to do to weld with it. You can look at some of the videos I have done with the machine, the welds come out a lot better when I’m not filming because it’s harder to weld reaching around the camera but you can get an idea from those videos, I haven’t been making videos in about year with it because I’ve had to change my course and do more shop work than mobile welding, so it doesn’t get used unless I’m welding on trailers
@@Whenthehooddrops not on that welder, it only has one knob and its not a rheostat. maybe you are thinking of the SA-200 that uses a rheostat to adjust arc voltage
I’m sorry I haven’t been posting for a while. Haven’t had any spare time to film lately or even watch RUclips! The rig went down big time so I’ve had to get another vehicle in the mean time and it needed minor repairs. Thinking of doing a video on it today after I clean it up! I’ll be going from a dually truck to a all terrain suv and off road trailer setup.
If you are talking about the wire going from the little bolt to the frame the welder is mounted on? That is to prevent any arcing between the frame of the welder and the truck which can short out the electronics in the welder
I’ve used the activ8 at my old shop and I much prefer the Miller 12vs to it but maybe they came out with a better wire feed on them? The one we had at the old shop wouldn’t have a continuous wire feed it would feed and then slow down slower and go back to feeding the right speed again we found out it was from flex in the roller assemble
It’s good for what it is you can do a lot with them. The only caveat to them and other welders if that size is the motors don’t last long, most need a new motor around 500 hours
@@adamswelding5052 good content man, enjoy it. I have had a ranger 225 and loved it as long as I've had it, but it was a big heavy and top big for my needs, taking up too much space on my small pickup. Sold and bought a used outback 185. Has 800 hours on it and running like new! Does everything the ranger would do and weighs 200 lbs lighter. And takes much less space on the truck. I don't see the engine going out anytime soon, was wondering where you got that from? Maybe I should start worrying! Also had a hobart champion 145 for a bit, o I loved that machine. Don't know about the longevity, haven't had it too long, but thing would do loads for its size. Only reason I sold it because had someone pay the same price as new
I had done some research about a lot of forums and found that the smaller units tended to need the motors rebuilt after around 500 hours(1000 if it was properly maintained and used regularly) I hope your machines works out great for you!
Wow that’s cool it looked older like early 2000’s model idk I’m new to welding I was thinking of purchasing a motor drive welder like yours just to have and do stuff with it weld up my horse corral lol
That’s cool honestly there are a lot of good options out there, you can usually find an older Lincoln ranger 8 or some of the older Lincoln weldan welders for under $750 on Craigslist and they should serve perfectly fine for what you are wanting!
I have added some affiliate links to my description. Check them out if you are interested in some similar equipment to what I use!
Thanx for posting the info bro. Just got me one of these welders today.

This is my Lincoln Ranger 225, my Next video will be about how to set the amperage a little bit more in detail!
Inspiration keep up the good work man
Thanks sadly I haven’t been able to make videos in a while and might not for a little while longer but I’ll get back at it soon
Just found your channel, That's a nice machine, I'm jealous!

I got a 2016 f150 ecoboost wonder if this is light enough to pull then their diesel counterparts?
It weighs just over 500 pounds it could be don’t but your suspension won’t like it too much but run what you have until you get something better
Do you have to be certified to be a mobile welder?
how do you like the arc it produces? i see it doesnt have arc force control

Rheostat controls volts which is Arc Force

Is it good for residential or is it to loud
I use it on jobs and it doesn’t seem any louder than other generators
How do you like the machine? I just got the 250 gxt last week
It’s awesome welds great stable arc and has performed great for me
@@adamswelding5052 have you tried using a feeder with it?
Not yet hope to soon building my flatbed for it

Hey man why do u have the earth ground on ? I 've been wondering about that .
If you are talking about the wire going from the little bolt to the frame the welder is mounted on? That is to prevent any arcing between the frame of the welder and the truck which can short out the electronics in the welder
I have the same machine . 736 hrs on mine . still runs and welds like the day I bought it .
They are good machines and well worth their money!
If your thinking about Geting a wire feed for it . go with the activ8 from lincoln . that's what I am running .

It is a 2018
I actually haven’t used it much cause side work most of it I’ve been able to do at the shop so it only gets used now and then
