我收到 RM17XX 的账单时也很惊讶，但是我去对照我的电表又确实是没错，然后 TNB 也有将3个月的总共使用单位平均了再来分 tier 计算电费，最后还给了2%的折扣。可能一下子清算3个月的消费会被吓到，但是 TNB 也自动提供 3个月的免息分期付款。所以我个人觉得这次 TNB 并没有做错了什么。

As your information, most of the public utilities (water and electricity supply) all around the world are often natural monopolies because the infrastructure required to produce and deliver a product such as electricity or water is very expensive to build and maintains. Beside that, it is expensive to string more than one set of power wires to a house. There is no point in spending twice as much to put in the wiring, so originally one company got a monopoly on supply
@ang64 are you sure? I live in UK and we have LOTS of electricity company like tnb everyday fighting for customers. Do some research mate.

The company that owns the wires to the house is different from the company that owns the power plant, but this measure didn't really effective in some of the countries (especially developing countries). Malaysia is really hard to broke up the monopolies, because the market scale is different with UK.

let me just give some example where I stay for now: we do have suddenly cut off power too.. so the ppl will made calls for sure.. they will make sure the power will run again within the short time.
Also abt water, they never cut off water unless they give advance notice.. and for how long. So you could store water as you wanted.
But for some points he mentioned still occurred in the overseas.. too..

same, when i went back my hometown for a week, i experience 5 to 6 black out . sometime multiple blackout in the same night, On >off >ON> off.
we even have to go to the extend to buy a diesel generator for ourself to keep the lights on. But only those that are richer in the kampung had that luxury to keep their light on.

我家每個月平均用電大概在35～40塊錢左右。上個禮拜來賬單135塊錢左右。最後一次付電費是在三月中，三個月後來135塊錢的賬單，覺得比平時貴了一點，不過在家的時間多了很多，每個月45塊錢覺得還算合理，所以已經付了。也許我是幸運的。遭到不合理收費的朋友，一定要抗議，不得讓他們為所欲為。
用的少是没什么分别的，但用的越多tnb的神算法就来了，本来政府就说有折扣，结果折扣是没有却变天价电费单，，现在被骂翻了就来个电费77块以内的不用钱，其实我们要知道的是tnb到底怎么算的罢了!

The same thing happens to pos laju, misc, etc also. For mobile service, they only give certain licences to some operators only like celcom and maxis to own the lanes.

我是台灣人，這種公共事業交給公營單位其實會比私營好，但是，必須是"正常的政府"，以台灣為例，台灣山區電力、水力覆蓋程度在全球排名非常前面的，因為如果電業全自由化的國家，山上是絕對沒有業者願意提供，而且發電的燃料用國家的用量下去談，可以談到比較好的價格，所以核心問題是需要一個正常的"政府"。

@@phunweng962 Yes, different power supplier from west Malaysia and Sabah, Sarawak Energy founded in 1932 is wholly owned by the State Government of Sarawak. But now is privatised. Sarawak is the only state doesn't have TNB in Malaysia. And due to mco the bill will discount 25% for 6 month in Sarawak.
Tbh SEB is no difference. I worked in plant before, so many times power shortages, cost us a lot of money when production has to be halt and the equipment has to be troubleshoot. Not to mention poor coverage in rural areas

Is true that we shouldn’t let one electricity company for the whole country. In japan there are so many electricity companies that you can choose from. I think it’s necessary to have competitor in order for a better service and prices .

I have lost a couple of hard disks and valuable data due to outages because TNB cut power without warning.
I support the premise against tnb one but i just wanna make a point.. several friends of mine actually work for tnb as those technicians or whatever u call them.. they standby every night in case of a power outage.. I'm not saying what they did was charity but i simply wanna say that from the lot that i know, they've worked their asses off for the living they're making and some stayed because their bosses begged due to the lack of employee so i wish people would take that into consideration when criticising the executives to not be confused with the pawns cuz i doubt that many of us would stay up at night for charity.
Yah it's a bit unfair to judge based on how they act when they have work at hand and being sleep deprived
But the whole point of this video is throwing the arrowheads to those executives in TNB, no one would blame the workers. Maybe some of the workers are ignorant, but im pretty sure that it is either a personal attitude problem, or customer facing such difficulties just because management didnt go through their interview well nor monitoring the workers well. If u wanna point out another example of poor policies monopoly company, it starts with initial T too =D
tnb cannot calculate from 24/2/20 to 24/6/20 and take the total lamsum watt 2000 n calculate out the using the lamsum cost rate the 1st is 0.218 n 2nd 0.334 then 3rd 0.516 then 4th 0.546 then 5th 0.571 if 2000 should be divide by 5mth is average 400 is only rate calculate from 1st n 2nd then only x 5 equal the total rm not using 2000 straight away calculate of cost it jump to expensive cost u take the 3rd 4th 5th rate is double already if calculate

sudden cut off is not only rural area.. u try to come here Kota Kinabalu Sabah... u will experience it at least once a month if u are lucky... and even more lucky u experience it couple time a week...
