@@modeverything1 Are you using head studs? If so where did you source them? I only find arp studs for the 2.8. Do they fit the aluminium heads? Id be very happy with just ordinary 10.9 or 12.9 m11x1.5 studs but it seem impossible to find.
I'm just using stock bolts (currently 2nd time on this set) once it starts having head gasket problems then I will look into studs. Wot-tech sells sets for aluminum heads, but I think someone on the 60degreev6 message bord posted what to use with using half of the 2.8 iron head set.
That bore size is definitely limiting some flow but are you using a tube on the exhaust for flow? Those numbers look noticably lower than what I am getting on a 3.7" bore.
05-06 3.5l G6, 04-06 Malibu 3.5l (LX9), 2005-2006 Montana/Uplander, and the 3.5 rendezvous. Don't forget that the valve seats for the intake valves will need to be machined larger by a machine shop!
You want to put heads on a 3100? If you're wanting heads for a 3100 the best would be 2000+ 3100/3400 heads. For the most power you would need a full port and polish on them.
You can swap a 3400 in place of the 3100 with basically no modifications. Next would be a 3500 LX9, which is a little more work than the 3400, and also requires an external crank trigger to run. After that your skill/wallet is the limit because anything else will require more custom fabrication and wiring to work
Looking forward to seeing what it flows after porting. Looks like the gains are at the lift where it'll spend more of it's time / duration.
Yes the gains are good for a stock cam engine! If I was doing a stock rebuild I would be doing this for sure!
Nice.
Im waiting to get my 3400 heads back. Valve job and bowl-blend. He will flow them also so Ill have some numbers to share also.
Nice! The little bit of porting that I did picked up better than I thought it would! Just need to finish the video lol

No tube/pipe on exhaust. I have held a random pipe over the port and it brought the numbers up about 8-10 cfm from what I remember.
I wanna do this with my 94 3.1 what year 3500 valves do I need to get im pulling it soon for converter issues

What's the best head I can swap from a 3100 with virtually no problems?

@@modeverything1 and if I were to swap my top and bottom end, what would drop in? I'm hoping a dohc 60° v6 setup would work

pretty cool compared to the olds 260 heads
If only the 260 heads followed this good!
