This album got me through a whole year of rehab while I was away from my wife and daughter. I couldn't see either one of them for months because of how much a messed things up. This whole album is so dark and beautiful to me, it just did everything I needed an album to do while in such a dark time. I've Been clean 7 years and my wife and I have had another kid after I moved back home when I was done with rehab. This album is a reminder of those times and it keeps me so grateful. Just felt like sharing this for some reason.
Experience is everything...I too, had this album to howl in tears to. Alone... Sometimes hitchhiking in the dead of night with no destination. I'm coming out of it still. After all these years it is as real as yesterday. Thank you for sharing.
"This apple makes me sick, cries the pig upon his stick" and "When our lambs and lions made debts not rightous man can pay " is the realest shit ever spoken by a human being
Eula Settle down This won’t last long I’ve been out And I want back in So why not completely fade away When my bones begin to break And my head begins to shake It’s my own blood When my house becomes a cage And the neighbours turn away It’s my own blood Settle down This won’t last long I’ve been out And I want back in So why not completely fade away “Where the butcher’s hand is home” Laughs the blade above the throne “It’s my own blood” “Oh, this apple makes me sick” Cries the pig upon his stick “It’s my own blood” And I can’t forget the taste Can’t forget the taste of my own tongue And I can’t forget the taste Can’t forget the taste of my own tongue And If I had a heart I’d waste it on you But it’s all together far too long Since I took you down Settle down This won’t last long I’ve been out And I want back in So why not completely fade away When we’ve licked all of the lips And the salt-stained fingertips It’s our own blood When our lambs and lions made Debts no righteous man can pay It’s our own blood And I can’t forget the taste Can’t forget the taste of my own tongue And I can’t forget the taste Can’t forget the taste of my own tongue
This song is pulling out some strange heartfelt emotion in me that I can't put my finger on...almost like a creepy movie I've seen before, but can't remember. Nostalgia and sadness all rolled into one, but it's an incredible emotion. I absolutely love this track...
Holy fucking God...this song is amazing! These guys need to write a fucking thesis on how to properly write a metal song that will rock your balls off, publish it, then set that to music so I can rock out to that, because I'll bet even a thesis by Baroness on how to write metal songs would still sound better than 99% of all metal songs written by other bands!
This Goddamn song is a MASTERPIECE. Got me through the most tragic ending a relationship I've ever been in. The love that was drowned to death in debauchery and drugs and deception. I contracted hep c from the one I loved. And this song got me through all of it. And I still love her but will never look in her eyes again
This song is so fucking full of emotion. My chest hasnt felt this good in a while. Started tearing up almost for a second. Thanks your this work of art.
Lyrical genius this man is. His ability to mesh emotions with melodies amazes me with several of their songs. Lots of bands use lyrics to fit the music and Baroness seems to take the opposite approach
Not sure about now but I know they used to do them last minute for at least Blue and this record. I remember hearing John Congleton say in a video "I don't know why I let you wait til the last minute with lyrics" or something to that effect.
Thank You! This song and almost all of the songs on this album are so freakin heavy, without beeing heavy. Baroness doesn´t try to fit in, they do what they want to do and i love it. When he starts to scream at 4:40 you can just feel it in every part of your body. Great band.
Def one of the prettiest baroness songs. This whole album i wish they could play more of these live. You really dont see the songs like PSALMS ALIVE and some of the other best songs from this album on the setlists with the current lineup with Gina. You'll get a green theme, Board up the House etc. but this album has so many great songs.
And on that, I fully and entirely agree with you. Music fans as a whole would benefit from applying this. Too many people speak in absolutes, or think their taste is some gauge of musical quality.
Saw these guys live for the first time in my life on Tuesday in Manchester, I've never been blown away as much as i was that night. Thank you Baroness, that was the best night I've had in a long time
For everyone who says this album is gonna suck because of these last couple of releases: just wait. As Baroness themselves said, they have written an ALBUM, not a showcase of standalone songs. The only true way to experience an album is to sit down and listen to it from start to finish, let it sink in, and listen to it again. This isn't just music, it's an experience. You can't just judge an album by three songs.
I think this is the best album of 2012. Baroness is simply amazing. There is no way of describing what this is. I can't stop listening to this album. Really worth buying. I am proud of supporting this band.
I live and I die by this band and these songs. Forever and on, into eternity...that is the legacy of Baroness...Join me, forever, with them..and discover that which is beyond your own comprehension..a journey that transcends time and space. We can all go, just grab my hand!
Fans of previous albums by this band or not. Listen to this release on its own, and compare it to other music being released. It is in the top 1%. These guys are 100% musicians with in great talent. Lets appreciate it for what it is and not gripe for what it isn't.
Sums my feelings up exactly. I was never a big fan of Baroness, but this album has impressed me so much that I've ordered a CD + t-shirt. It's rare to find music that sticks in your head and demands to be sung or played on an hourly basis. They deserve a lot of thanks and praise for that.
i listened to a lot of the songs off these albums for a few days and i was just blown away by their epicness. i am madly in love with this song. so heavy and melodic. good stuff.
Lots of delish layers, hearing Nick's bass killing it in the background was delightful. Seb and Nick were such an amazing addition to this band and it really shows, especially on Purple. Seb has to be one of my fav drummers. He absolutely slays on this song.
Are people really honestly complaining because they've decided to take their sound in a new direction. Because they decided to evolve musically. Watch their in the studio bits. Should clear up any questions you may have with where they've taken this album musically. And, seriously, chill. The albums not even out yet. And if this somehow "not as good"/ exactly what you were hoping for, it's still far and away some of the best music out there. It's still Baroness at their best. It's just new.
Experience is everything...I had this album to howl in tears to. Alone... Sometimes hitchhiking in the dead of night with no destination. I'm coming out of it still. After all these years it is as real as yesterday. Blessed music.
This is the first song I've ever been absolutley blown away with the first time listening to it. Most of my music has been like "eh this isnt bad" then bam I love it. But this song was absolutley mindblowing. I am right along with you there brother.
I enjoy them switching it up. At first I was skeptical, but give it a chance. The new stuff has def. grown on me. Very much looking forward to the rest of the album.
Pretty much everyone agrees that yellow is the better of the two. At first I really didn't like green at all, but after a few spins it really starts to grow on you. Collapse is one of the best chill songs Baroness has ever made.
what genres are for is to describe what other bands your music is like. All of those bands have a certain sound that's characteristic of similar bands, so it makes sense to put them into a certain category. It's not limiting their music at all, it's putting their music into a category after the music is already made.
This album got me through a whole year of rehab while I was away from my wife and daughter. I couldn't see either one of them for months because of how much a messed things up. Thank you for sharing. So beautiful. Stay strong 💪
Great to read your story and good luck for the future.
Experience is everything...I too, had this album to howl in tears to. Alone... Sometimes hitchhiking in the dead of night with no destination. I'm coming out of it still. After all these years it is as real as yesterday. Thank you for sharing.
❤️
Its my sincerest hope that you are all doing well. Keep going. 🙏
I searched for "eula" so I could learn more about end user license agreements. Was not disappointed.
Pretty sure you hit the innuhnet lottery, bro. Play 13
How could you be. Sacrifice isn't easy.
"This apple makes me sick, cries the pig upon his stick" and "When our lambs and lions made debts not rightous man can pay " is the realest shit ever spoken by a human being
This was peak Baroness
This one of those songs that makes you feel things that are hard to describe.
Eula
Settle down
This won’t last long
I’ve been out
And I want back in
So why not completely fade away
When my bones begin to break
And my head begins to shake
It’s my own blood
When my house becomes a cage
And the neighbours turn away
It’s my own blood
Settle down
This won’t last long
I’ve been out
And I want back in
So why not completely fade away
“Where the butcher’s hand is home”
Laughs the blade above the throne
“It’s my own blood”
“Oh, this apple makes me sick”
Cries the pig upon his stick
“It’s my own blood”
And I can’t forget the taste
Can’t forget the taste of my own tongue
And I can’t forget the taste
Can’t forget the taste of my own tongue
And If I had a heart
I’d waste it on you
But it’s all together far too long
Since I took you down
Settle down
This won’t last long
I’ve been out
And I want back in
So why not completely fade away
When we’ve licked all of the lips
And the salt-stained fingertips
It’s our own blood
When our lambs and lions made
Debts no righteous man can pay
It’s our own blood
And I can’t forget the taste
Can’t forget the taste of my own tongue
And I can’t forget the taste
Can’t forget the taste of my own tongue
thank you sir...!
This is one of the best songs I've ever heard.
For real! Thank ypu WSOU pirate radio northern NJ!

Can't believe that my name is the title of this beautiful song.
that's so cool Eula!!!
this is a masterpiece.
This song is pulling out some strange heartfelt emotion in me that I can't put my finger on...almost like a creepy movie I've seen before, but can't remember. Nostalgia and sadness all rolled into one, but it's an incredible emotion. I absolutely love this track...
The part at 4:15 sounds reminiscent of "In the House, in a Heartbeat" from the 28 Days Later soundtrack.
That bass line pierces my soul
Such an amazing song. How did it take me 11 years to discover this!!!!
Every so often I need to listen to this album to remember how great it is
Same
This is probably the best song on the album.
This song used to make me depressed because I was being through a break up, but now is a song that i still listen to be strong and keep going.
A very good song. the whammy effect is killer.
yes!!!
its very much like that Tom Morello along with those effect pedals
Holy fucking God...this song is amazing! How is this NOT metal? Brilliant song - it's been awhile since I've gotten chills.
This is probably my favorite song ever from my favorite band.
Lyrical genius this man is. His ability to mesh emotions with melodies amazes me with several of their songs. Lots of bands use lyrics to fit the music and Baroness seems to take the opposite approach

@@petercarlson5261 someone can explain the meaning of the Song?Sorry for my english

the line "settle down this won't last long" is sadly an accurate depiction of my love life.
Thank You! This song and almost all of the songs on this album are so freakin heavy, without beeing heavy. Baroness doesn´t try to fit in, they do what they want to do and i love it. When he starts to scream at 4:40 you can just feel it in every part of your body. Great band.

i never imagined baroness capable of producing such beautiful music. even "steel that sleeps the eye" didn't prepare me for this. this is incredible
One of the best songs ever written by humanity.
ive heard alot of baroness its RAW ASS good shit
I accept this song.
Baroness or the sweetest side of stoner/sludge.
I Love this band !
"Euphoric Sludge", I say.
All of baroness's catalog elicits a spiritual response for me! love this stuff!
And on that, I fully and entirely agree with you. Music fans as a whole would benefit from applying this. Too many people speak in absolutes, or think their taste is some gauge of musical quality.
OH MY FUCKING GOD. THAT IS INCREIBLE MUSIC
Saw these guys live for the first time in my life on Tuesday in Manchester, I've never been blown away as much as i was that night. Thank you Baroness, that was the best night I've had in a long time
Damn. I don't know why, but this song is AMAZING"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
+Zakem66 I know, it's so damned intoxicating to me, hypnotic almost.
it's the whammy pedal solo
This song is so beautiful and powerful. Damn near brings me to tears every time I hear it. Thank You!
Best song of this album and one of my fav of Baroness. Beautiful.

I heard this song in my dream last night. I woke up and spent my whole morning trying to find it with just one lyric. I’m in love.
I think this is the best album of 2012. Baroness is simply amazing. There is no way of describing what this is. I can't stop listening to this album. Really worth buying. I am proud of supporting this band.

Great song for a compilation of Hannibal moments. Lyrics very fitting.
OH MY GOD I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING
I think I might actually do it
well, did you? ;)

I've been using 4:14 - 4:39 as my ringtone for a few months now, makes me never wanna pick up the phone lol.
thank you spotify for showing this to me!
This track is right from another galaxy... epic, like it. Like the whole new material.
The bloody changes in this song are something to behold... Reminds me of ET.. Moving
Ujgfh

saw them live in concert yesterday, this is the song that stuck out. so good.
i listened to a lot of the songs off these albums for a few days and i was just blown away by their epicness. i am madly in love with this song. so heavy and melodic. good stuff.
This is the most amazing thing that I've ever heard.
First time listening to this and i just simply melted
I kind of see it too, in terms of the sound. The most obvious reference point for me is Mastodon's "The Sparrow".
I LOOOOOOOOOVE this!
Lots of delish layers, hearing Nick's bass killing it in the background was delightful. Seb and Nick were such an amazing addition to this band and it really shows, especially on Purple. Seb has to be one of my fav drummers. He absolutely slays on this song.
This is beautiful
This song is simple majestic! It flows so much feelings that I caannot really describe. Thank you so much Baroness for making fantastic music.
Are people really honestly complaining because they've decided to take their sound in a new direction. Because they decided to evolve musically. Watch their in the studio bits. The power ballad we needed. Incredible song
This is amazing. The album is fantastic! I love Baroness. They have such a refreshing sound.
Song always gives me goosebumps.
I just car-aoked this song for over an hour straight. One of my e favorite songs of Yellow and Green (along with Board Up the House and Green Theme)
Reminds me alot of "In the House, In a Heartbeat" - John Murphy from the 28 Weeks later movie
The build up!
yeah there is that part ...that's exactly what i thought too....thx man....
I must listen to this now!
I've listened, and it is very nice. Now I must rewatch this fantastic movie. I miss this movie.
If you dig this chord progression, you should listen to the final 4 minutes of "Jane Doe" by Converge
Simply Amazing.
Beautiful tune
Reminds me of the Afghan Whigs, Good song! Bithead1000 sent me here.
Wow, amazing 😍
The album/s are stunning. Best Baroness to date. Nothing wrong with making the album more listen-able while maintaining brilliant musical integrity.
God, if i could only hear this one for the first time again...
This is the first song I've ever been absolutley blown away with the first time listening to it. Most of my music has been like "eh this isnt bad" then bam I love it. But this song was absolutley mindblowing. I am right along with you there brother.
Right there with you. I've been playing Y&G top to bottom at least twice a day for the past month.
This is the best song in my life
I agree. I was thinking Ulver at the start. Just got this album 5 minutes ago and now I'm looking forward to learning it so much.
Too bad about the bus accident they were just. Hope the guys are ok. Alots of love and support. Baroness fan.
Man, listening these dudes progress...gold.
its amazing
Perfect.
I enjoy them switching it up. At first I was skeptical, but give it a chance. The new stuff has def. grown on me. Very much looking forward to the rest of the album.
my favourite song on Yellow and Green
Each song I've heard from this is better than the last. Serious ALBUM OF THE YEAR contender, probably the lead candidate in my book.
this was the most beautiful song ever played live.... thank you baroness.
A true metal fan, its a music fan.
I am a metal fan and i listen from metal to Fado ( from portugal ). Every good music should be heard.
This song is literally perfect.
Amazing song, killer band.
masterpiece.
God damn that solo is so intense. Loving this album!!
feeling that Tom Morello vibe
Touchy , very deep combinations of pure ,soothing and perfect example of how a new band is able to come up with such songs \m/
I can't stop listening to this song, it's just too good.
my new favorite band...love you guys!
I feel the same way about this song. It's such a beautiful song this one
end user license agreement?
So very good...
Pretty much everyone agrees that yellow is the better of the two.

The changes to the band's lineup are very positive. Well done dudes.
I love this song It would had been awesome a music video based on the song.
Never ever gets old...
This song gave me goosebumps so goddamn hard... Damn.
This will be of the best records to be released in 2012 ... period!
