Who wishes this song was longer? And had more to the story? Such a powerful song!!! I want more!! I guess that's the addic in me! Even threw music I want more of this song!
We all wish our songs were longer. Sometimes, our addictions don't allow us to add more to the story. Sadly, too many people know this story and wish it never had to be told again.
@sethhesio1902 About losing someone or ones self to addiction - Basically how it overcomes someone and changes them into something else entirely "sweet morphine, youve taken over me" to "heroin, where did you take my friend" That build up from pills to heroin, and they are no longer themselves
There was an anchor, there was a silver-sweet refrain You tucked your fingers in between my troubled bones And what you did next was second to none You really let us down You tied yourself up and jumped in the sea never to come home Valium You left me alone Tell me when I will be whole again There was a whisper. Once there were heralds and parades You sang your secrets through the tolling of the tide The fugitive rooms, the amateur tombs The silence and the cries The quickening beat, your march to the sea, never to return Sweet morphine, you've taken all of me Let me know, when you will let me go Heroin Where did you take my friend? Tell me why Those ropes are hanging high Valium You left me alone
"There was an anchor, there was a silver-sweet refrain. You tucked your fingers in between my troubled bones. And what you did next was second to none. You really let us down. I've lost so many friends to overdose and other such forms that I've lost count. Those who can't get help slip through the cracks. This song really hits hard. 💔💔
Just discovered these guys like 3 days ago and I'm obsessed. Just feels like good fucking old fashioned Hard Rock. Not trying to be anything more than what it is. I've become a bit of a metalhead recently, but sometimes I feel like a lot of metal bands try really hard to be really stupidly edgy.
I had the pleasure of seeing these guys live, front row in Camden, London. One of the best shows of my life - the stage presence was incredible. Thanks so much Baroness!
I read the lyrics for the first time last night (only discovered this album was out last week!) and was completely blown away. These are sad lyrics! And really heartfelt.
it's metal, it's catchy so it wont scare off the pop boys and girls, i soooo hope this will get alot of "airtime" in the radio, so maybe we can get a new wave of good bands like we got in the late 90's Baroness you guys deserve all the praise you're getting
I know the Name Baroness since a few years, but never felt like i need to listen to that Band. An Hour ago, i was riding my Bike, back home from Work and suddenly this Song popped up on a Relapse Records Sampler. I had to stop riding my Bike, cause this Song gave me at 0:17 something what i call 'The Sweet Stitch right into the Heart'. Your whole Body freezes, you're shaking, your Heart starts to pump super fast, you want to cry and let everytjing out, but at the same Time you just wanna hug the whole World. Not joking....i'm listening to this Song since an Hour on repeat. And now i feel like, that I need to listen everything Baroness have ever recorded. This is a Song for Eternity.
It definitely conveys a sense of nostalgia and it does it perfectly in three minutes. They could have easily noodled around for a few more minutes with some back slapping guitar work but sometimes less is more.
and there you have it folks...a sampling of music from the best metal band in the U.S. Nevermore are no more, Nile are on hiatus (I guess), Mastadon the same, Lamb of God are full of themselves (and so freakin redundant) and Pig Destroyer are so bloody bile. This leaves Baroness as the most intriguing metal band in the United Snakes of Captivity. For 2012, Baroness's Yellow & Green...is gold. Album of the year...hands down!
I just found this band, listened to a horse called golgotha, and now this, and i am so impressed. this band is one of my new favorites. i mean it is so calm and so agressive at the same time. its like i am floating.
My sister passed from a fent od and this song means so much to me, i heard it live a month before she passed and it made me think of her, she didnt deserve that accident, i love her so much and know she wouldnt have wanted what happened, i miss you Tristi, i wish you could have missed that day.
Baroness has one of the most interesting drummers out there, hands down. He's not breaking barriers, but damn he keeps the songs moving. And who cares if it'd metal or not? It's fun shit.
Also holy shit I've looked at bands on the relapse label, somehow it never showed Baroness! Some of my favorite bands are on that label, Red Fang, Monolord, Windhand, Black Tusk. What an exquisite collection of artists
Makes me think of a someone I use to know who hung themselves behind their grandmas house on a tree, 2014. 19yrs old. Too damn bad and too young. Wish I could’ve helped sooner… Wish I could’ve showed them this song… Cheers again V…
I think this song shows the full extent of their new sound. It sounds almost mainstream radio at times without giving up any of its soul. Great song. Beautiful lyrics. One of my favorites of 2012 and a much needed break from all the screaming, -core(es), and mediocrity of most metal bands now a days.
lol not really anything like round the sun but epic in its own right i have noticed going through baroness's stuff that they and mastodon do like borrow eachothers riffs which i think is so cool.
That's entertaining, because I had the exact opposite reaction. I was all about Take My Bones Away from the first listen and was skeptical of March to the Sea. Having now listen to both song extensively, Both have grown on me quite a bit. Take My Bones Away does sound like a departure from what they've been doing, but change/evolution is good. Especially for a band this musically talented. I'm really looking forward to the new album now.
Yeah, I wasn't a fan of Take My Bones away, but it's Baroness, how can they let you down? Lo'and behold, they didn't. I really really dig this song and it's perfect because I am moving away from the heavier music. You can only appreciate it for so long until you want something lighter and Baroness is really filling that void.
Holy crap, I started at Radio Moscow, then got recommended to Cathedral's "Hopkins" (badass song by the way), was led to Jex Thoth, and wound up here. It's been quite a 20 minutes.
I've seen quite a few people complain about the production of this album. I personally think it's fucking incredible!! It has a nice classic horror Punk feel to it, IMO. (: Production-wise, that is.
Whoa, the album releases on my birthday! What better gift could I ask for!? SWEET! With this, and "The Dark Knight Rises" three days after, July is looking like a pretty fucking good month. =D
I'd say it is quite a bit heavier than Damnation, though I definitely see where you are coming from there. I'd lean more toward a few songs from Watershed and then Heritage though myself.

@@moejartin3258Exactly.
I want a longer version of this song, I adore this song. Its about heroin isnt it?
@sethhesio1902 About losing someone or ones self to addiction - Basically how it overcomes someone and changes them into something else entirely "sweet morphine, youve taken over me" to "heroin, where did you take my friend"
That build up from pills to heroin, and they are no longer themselves
I wish my bfs penis was longer.
Every band my little sister sends me is always what I need to hear at the exact moment, love you Jessie
No Problem. I just know you my love.
Wholesome
some people just have a gift for that

This key. Thank you!
Not a lot of lyrics. But damn. Every single word was handpicked to paint a picture.
Damn…❤❤❤❤🥹🥹🥹

The best song of Baroness in my opinion.
Jakaś Nazwa isak is the right side bro
Jakaś Nazwa what about green theme though?
this song's up there, but I second Green Theme
Isak, the sweetest curse, wanderlust and this song here....
I disagree. Probably their most popular, but not their best.
This song gets me right in the feels every time
Almost four years on and this CD is still high on my playlist. Purple is awesome too!
I've lost so many friends to overdose and other such forms that I've lost count. Those who can't get help slip through the cracks. This song really hits hard. 💔💔

FoxFan12 this band can make your heart beat only with their music, amazing
Red Album is my favorite.
Same as me, they are amazing
You'll never get enough
I had the pleasure of seeing these guys live, front row in Camden, London. One of the best shows of my life - the stage presence was incredible. Thanks so much Baroness!
This song helped me survive the army.
Wish I could tell you thank you SSG E.H

Baroness you guys deserve all the praise you're getting
I like the drug references...they're a warning in a way without being preachy
More than half of rock songs about how drugs can fuck you up and take your loved ones. These guys made it real art form though.
Composing and performing music live about any topic is exactly "preachy".
@@Clem68W : be quiet

Very Nice! Brent Hinds would be proud for this chorus' guitar work
I'm sure the Mastodon's crew heard this recording banging their heads! Good job!!!
This band rules. I'm at a loss to find anything that compares.
Sylosis,Death,Cynic,Gorod,Mastodon
Moslty Mastodon. They pretty sound the same, but different.
Coheed And Cambria
Love the emotion in this song.
It definitely conveys a sense of nostalgia and it does it perfectly in three minutes. They could have easily noodled around for a few more minutes with some back slapping guitar work but sometimes less is more.

Absolutely love baroness they just have such a wonderful unique sound to them that i really cant think of another band thats like it
My sister passed from a fent od and this song means so much to me, i heard it live a month before she passed and it made me think of her, she didnt deserve that accident, i love her so much and know she wouldnt have wanted what happened, i miss you Tristi, i wish you could have missed that day.
This is heartwarming
This songs amazingly inspiring and so are the comments I'm reading, thanks for being around.
I like it, it sort has a motif thing going on with the riff sounding like a riff from"The Sweetest Curse".
I love their sound so much, this song on replay constantly.
The opening chords to this song are so sad they make me cry. This song really hits home too. Beautiful stuff.
Baroness has one of the most interesting drummers out there, hands down. He's not breaking barriers, but damn he keeps the songs moving. And who cares if it'd metal or not? It's fun shit.
How have I never seen the green half of the "Yellow and Green" album art until just now?
Incredible song, incredible album, incredible band
Also holy shit I've looked at bands on the relapse label, somehow it never showed Baroness! Some of my favorite bands are on that label, Red Fang, Monolord, Windhand, Black Tusk. What an exquisite collection of artists
This is the most beautiful song
Ahhhh memories! !! I love this song
I have followed Baroness since 2010. I am always impressed, and happy to share.
The opening acoustic tune reminds me of Little Old Lady by Quartz. Great song by Baroness!
I'm just finding this song now? WTF this is great
The first time I heard this song, I left it on repeat for 72 hours.
Beautiful song
loving the soft intro tune
This song hits pretty close to home.
This song remind me Baroness.
Spent the remainder of my teens without a role model. R.i.p my brother. Role model and friend
Makes me think of a someone I use to know who hung themselves behind their grandmas house on a tree, 2014. 19yrs old.
Too damn bad and too young. Wish I could’ve helped sooner…
Wish I could’ve showed them this song…
Cheers again V…
Man you guys rock. This song is so epic..
The guitar tone in this reminds me of CKY.
You're not alone!! haha, So glad I found this band and song too!!
Definitely, so heartfelt and mature.
this album takes me to a happy place
Love it! Baroness just keeps getting better! Cant wait for the album to be released!
Actually heard this on the radio the other day and was really impressed, amazing song!
just so perfect and sweet, awesome album.

0:33 The anchor still lies around somewhere, you guys have been throwing it at each other on "gold and Grey"
I love this song
So good!
I honestly have no idea why people hate on Yellow & Green so much. Still sounds like Baroness.
Thats so true, I feel the same with shazam and soundhound when they report the wrong song back! found some good tunes that way!
sounding good so far. should be an amazing double album.
heroin, where did you take my friend? :'(
Ugh, just soo badass!
Great song..
approximately one month away.... we all need this album.
Most bad ass bar show ever!
usually not into this sort of band, but baroness is the exception to the rule. ya know its good when it gives you goose bumps.
so amazing
Why is this band so awesome?
I was so humbled.
The guitar part at 1:06 sounds similar to "Bladecatcher" by Mastodon. I think that's where the comparison is coming from.
Holy crap, I started at Radio Moscow, then got recommended to Cathedral's "Hopkins" (badass song by the way), was led to Jex Thoth, and wound up here. It's been quite a 20 minutes.

Liking the direction they took with this album
in love with it
Flawless victory.
I fucking love this song, I could listen to it all day!
very cool beats
I love this song :)
Wow this is brilliant!
He's the band's frontman! And his work is very Art Nouveau inspired
What a boss
being a 13 year heroin addict, now in recovery, this song breaks my heart..reminds me of every life I've seen lost..
Whoa, the album releases on my birthday! What better gift could I ask for!? SWEET!
With this, and "The Dark Knight Rises" three days after, July is looking like a pretty fucking good month. =D
Oh god, this is awesome.
fuck the grammys you guys are best in my books
Can you tell me, if the first second before the actual song, where they are yelling (volume up!) is mistake?
I'm feelin' it, It's pretty dope.
Uff!!! 3rd time repeated and continues. great!
BEST SONG ABOUT HEROIN ADDICTION
2020 still great song)
I'd say it is quite a bit heavier than Damnation, though I definitely see where you are coming from there. I'd lean more toward a few songs from Watershed and then Heritage though myself.
Just seen these guys at BlueRidge rock Festival and Gina Gleason is perfect in every way.
This song... So damn good
awesome!
Crack the Skye is one of the greatest albums ever made...
Heroin! Where did you take my friend?
the song only started for 10secs and I'm already in love, WHY THE HELL DID THAT VAN FALL IN THE ABYSS??!! Really wanted to see Baroness on Pkp12 :'(
where can one find that song, good sir or fine lady?
