    Rivers of Nihil "Where Owls Know My Name" video from the album "Where Owls Know My Name".
    Director : David Brodsky for MyGoodEye (www.mgenyc.com)
    Producers : Allison Woest and Rivers of Nihil
    Editor : Allison Woest and David Brodsky
    Cameras : David Brodsky, Allison Woest and Mike Compitello
    Special appearances by:
    Andy Thomas
    Zach Strouse
    Stephan Lopez
    LYRICS:
    And then I wished you away
    I lost those memories
    Of the days we weren’t
    Forsaken, why don’t we
    Just relax our eyes
    and fall into a dream
    let it take my mind
    Where owls know my name
    And it gets colder every day
    Lost in eternity’s grasp
    Withdrawing further from what we have known
    This mentality that we’ve built;
    It’s breaking down
    Still running away from it, you’re still dreaming
    Still hoping that there’s something that may be worth seeking
    You’ve wasted all that you have been given
    Still hoping to find a way to make life worth living
    Lost in eternity’s grasp
    We’ll find no way to weather the storm
    This mentality that we’ve built;
    It’s breaking down
    All the same;
    Every path you take
    You remain
    Trapped within your shame
    Go away, far away
    Separate, from the shame
    I’ve brought myself to this place
    Where only owls would know me
    This reality that I’ve built
    Is an empty space

And it seems to me that, in a weird way, despite the fact that the lyrics are damn serious and the video is a meme by itself, the video they made is actually helping the overall message that the lyrics are trying to send. @@luchoorn5425 In my opinion, the take home message is a form of cherful nihilism. I am particularly intruiged by the verses "You wasted all that you have been given/ still hoping to find something to make life worth living". And in my view at least, it's about not losing yourself and dedicating your whole life by pursuing an idealistic dream, and remembering that you also have to live for yourself because this is your only chance to live and this world is all you got. But this however is combined with the idea of not taking life so serious and allowing yourself to go goofy and weird from time to time if that brings you joy ( that "trapped within your shame thing")

    I lost those memories
    Of the days we weren’t
    Forsaken, why don’t we
    Just relax our eyes
    And fall into a dream
    Let it take my mind
    Where owls know my name
    And it gets colder every day
    Lost in eternity’s grasp
    Withdrawing further from what we have known
    This mentality that we’ve built
    It’s breaking down
    Still running away from it, you’re still dreaming
    Still hoping that there’s something that may be worth seeking
    You’ve wasted all that you have been given
    Still hoping to find a way to make life worth living
    Lost in eternity’s grasp
    We’ll find no way to weather the storm
    This mentality that we’ve built
    It’s breaking down
    All the same
    Every path you take
    You remain
    Trapped within your shame
    Go away, far away
    Separate, from the shame
    I’ve brought myself to this place
    Where only owls would know me
    This reality that I’ve built
    Is an empty space

Sounds to me like a mix between Pink Floyd (psychedelic/progressive rock), Cynic (fusion/jazz/tech death), some Meshuggah (djent/mathcore, even if in this song I can't hear particular polymorphism) and maybe even some jazzy soul elements. And it works, fluid and flawless. Masterpiece, and maybe future milestone.
