Thank you thank you thank you you've been the only person that use a skillet for camping cooking instead of just boiling water which I don't see how people are just boiling water and nothing else
People who boil water do it to use it with the freeze dried food where you add water to the pouch. When I camp I agree I definitely cook with a skillet and sometimes eat the pouches. It's nice to see a video.
Thanks for this interesting, informative, and entertaining video. You certainly cooked up a good breakfast! I am also pleased to see youngsters like yourself + your brothers enjoying outdoor life. I live in Scotland, am an official "pensioner", and have camped, kayaked, backpaced etc. for the best part of 60 years. I have just sent off for one of these stoves. By the way, what are those strands you cooked, I think you called them "hash browns"? I have never seen anything like that before. As I have finished working, I have plenty of time to get out doors. In Scotland they give us oldies a free pass, that means I can ride the buses and coaches ( I think you call them "Greyhounds") free. We also have a "right to roam" law which means that anyone can camp for 2 nights wherever they like, private land or not. I enjoy passing on my skills to my grandsons. Great to share your enthusiasm for the outdoors, greetings from Scotland.
Hey thanks for sharing. I think you will love your stove its a great product i love all of my msr gear! The food i cooked is called (hash browns) they are an american style potato that is shredded up with a cheese grader and cooked to taste (i like mine crispy ) they are awesome thanks for the awesome comment!
Is that a special camping/backpacking frying pan, or is it just a regular non stick pan? I just got the pocket rocket 2, and I was going to make something like this out on the gravel bar this weekend for about 6 of us, so I'm trying to figure out which frying pan works best with the pocket rocket 2!
Marc Helfrecht this pan is the msr flex skillet i works well on any traditional backpacking stove. i would recommend it if you like reliable light weight gear

Awesome video! It's good to see someone young using outdoor gear, and cooking a good meal instead of just boiling water. Great job!!
Great video. Well done. I was wondering how it would be to “cook”more instead of just boiling. Excellent presentation. Thanks!
