    Macs are great with 2D apps, especially with Final Cut Pro and Adobe Apps, but Alex is right when he says export times are done more so on the media engines which explains why the M3 beat the M1 Max in exporting. The headroom on the M1 Max chip is substantial. On the M1 Max you're getting 400 GB/s of memory bandwidth. On the base M3 the figure is 100 GB/s. If you're applying LUTs, filters, color correction in a timeline all of that is going to be handled by the CPU cores. Dynamic caching only helps with GPU performance and maximizes efficiency as the GPU and memory controller allocates memory. I'm hoping to do a deep dive on dynamic caching, but the resources are hard to find.

    A great episode as always gents, RCS is a fantastic achievement but I can't help but think the EU being involved may backfire for us users at some point.

      yeah - I never feel totally comfortable with governments getting involved. This year has possibly been for our benefit with RCS & USBC - but overall I am not a fan...
