    There’s an old saying
“Love is blind and marriage is an eye opener”.
That’s all I have to say on that matter 😊

My mother and father were married for over forty years; Chazz and were together till my father died. My father worked in the oil industry and continually worked overseas, and he always made me laugh when he had a good drink; he used to say to me you know, son, if I had a different job, me and your mother would have been devorced years ago.

This could not have dropped at a better time, I'm getting married in a week's time! Thank you very much Chazz, I'm really taking this advice on board to try to be the best family man I can be, every man needs to hear the wise words being said right here. As Don Vito Corleone said “Cause a man who doesn't spend time with his family can never be a real man.”

@mma161 I worked with Dions uncle in Manhattan. He was 85 and a millionaire. When he told me who he was and I told him I knew his whole family I was wondering ( what the hell is this guy doing working )? So I asked the owner and the owner said to me “did you ever meet his wife”?
That right there was all I needed to know.
The guy didn’t want to go home 🏡

Marriage can bring out the best and the worst in people, true with men and indeed with woman. True enough what Chazz says about the distance or vacation relationships.

I got married for the second time this year February, eight years after the divorce. I say it's worth the risk if and only if you go into it eyes WIDE open. I'm pretty sure I'm doing that; like 70% certain.

It takes a certain temperament to make a solid marriage. Life is complex and ever changing. Being kind, flexible and open-minded helps. Then there is love. It's there or it isn't.

I disagree about the oldest marrying. I was the oldest child and my husband was Also. I was his 3rd wife and we were married a little over 40yrs.until he passed. It was also a may/December marriage. We also lived together for 6 years before marrying. We also were best friends and laughed alot. When things got tough we hung tighter. Alot of those rules are BS! Love your show! I wish more young people listened to your podcast. It would save them alot of grief and the world would be so much better. God Bless!

For me i enjoyed the buffet of women of the world, then 1 day you choose 1 that is right for you and that is most important a friend and your life time partner. Be with someone that makes you better. Someone that will put up with your sht and you with their's.

Your in the old days ,women don't want get married till late 20s 30s wait for children to which is higher risk. One of the studies I've read 96% of divorces, they lived together before they got married

The concept of marraige is manufactured to benefit the female at the expense of the male. She gets alot more than he does. Needs to change, specially now that many women have a similar or higher income than men.

Marriage for what? If you love someone then you don't need to marry them. Live with them. That's it. I know people who are married and it's more stress than anything. Then if you're the guy then they decide they want to leave and they get half of everything I own and monthly payments for however many years and double that if there are kids? No thanks! Almost 50% of all marriages end in divorce today and probably another 25% on top of that are miserable. It's not like when my grandparents and parents got married in the late 1940s and 1960s or so. The entire culture has changed. I don't need a piece of paper and legal contract to be with someone. If you communicate, are respectful, and are loyal then you should be good. Without that, it doesn't matter if you're married or not. Every time I go over my friends house him and his wife are arguing. He's got a good job and makes about $200k a year. The only life that's going to be screwed if they get divorced is his. My brother is divorced twice and had a job making over $100k a year. He's now broke living with mom paying alimony and child support. No thanks! I'm a laid back guy and I don't need the aggravation. You want to be with me then be with me. No paper contract needed. You don't like it, kick rocks! Lol
