      to me Chaz one of the best actors in the top 10 maybe top five he's so good he's a he's a good guy in person he's a really upstanding guy he's he's not a bullshiter he's a straight-up solid dude I was his driver on the movie Jade that we did here in San Francisco and the teamster's Union and he was just a great guy wasn't rude was this awesome I mean was honor to work for him he was just a really good solid dude man I'll never forget that one of my favorites probably one of the best and that movie he wrote that was his script and he held onto it until he got his money he's the best

    The scene where de Niro talks to his young son, coming out of the social club, after giving sonny's money back.... One of the purest, most authentic dialogue in any movie.

    “A Bronx Tale” is one of those rare cinematic treats that you can watch multiple times and you discover something new every time. It is certainly among the pantheon of all time great mob movies.

    What makes A Bronx's Tale different in my eyes, is the focus on daily life in the neighborhood, the mob was there but its the regular Italians, honest working people , making it in America, instead of just portraying all Italians as mafia. Joe Columbo would be proud.

    I used to be a trouble soul, I didn't respected my father's hardwork. After watching chaz repeating the line "waking everyday in the morning going to work that you didn't like to do, but you do it for the love of your family". That line hit me hard and make me realise I was so wrong and I am a better man today and I realise my father's a tough guy. God bless Michael and chaz. 🙌

    I recently met Chazz at a firearm safety class in Westchester NY….he’s a class act and he came over and chatted with me, I told him, a Bronx tale is one of my favorite movies of all time….he was very appreciative….as he walked away lol, I actually said to him “ you grab my ass ? “….I apologized and said I couldn’t refuse the opportunity and he said “ no worries, I hear it all day long “ and he laughed….🙏🏻

      It wasn't exactly a mob movie, it was more about the bus driver loving his job and being on the straight and narrow amongst bad influences. Why he was strict with his son and his son soon realised after being roughed up by sonny and his so called friends were racist too.

      Like he said, "it had a documentary feel", because it was so real. It was/is a masterpiece.
      The cops coming up to the apartment to find a witness to the shooting. I think I read they were real cops.

    My father working in a pizza shop in the late 80s with italians (hes hispanic) he really enjoyed his time there and had good times with some of the guys there and he always told me that the italians are the most democratic/respectful people you'll ever meet. Racism exists in ever race, not just in whites I've seen latinos being racist towards asians and blacks and vice versa, racism is taught not inherited.

    This has to be my favorite interview thus far. You two, both italian, lived in the same area, practically the same age, knew alot of the same people, you both have alot in common which made this feel like two old friends who haven't seen eachother in decades shooting the breeze, which i really enjoyed.

    Italian here. I totally agree when they say "People is jealous and wish you didn't have your things". This happens in Italy too as culture is changing. There is too much egoism around us, hope we can turn before it is too late. Wish a beautiful day to all the italian-americans, don't forget your roots and the hard path your ancestors have overcome.

    Michael, I'm with you on the Fear vs Love debate. I can't remember the specific historical attribution, but it goes, like this: Two Roman generals were discussing military command.       This movie is tied w godfather. Godfather was art. This is different . The message is so clear. Interview the kid that went to jail for trying to be a g after playing colagino. Utmost respect for chaz. The way je held his balls when they offered him 500k to let deniro be the mob boss. Chazz wasnt ballin and he stuck to his principles

    When he calmly closed the door and locked it, Then said Now you can't leave. One of the best lines in cinema history. I saw him in person and was afraid to approach him for an autograph. He was that great in that role.

    A Bronx Tale is my favourite mob/gangster movie too. Watched it when I was a teenager/early 20's, I was so invested in the movie, almost shed a tear when Sonny passed. Awesome movie

    I had the pleasure of meeting Chazz a few times. When I worked at Saks Pittsburgh when he was filming a movie in Pittsburgh with Sharon Stone and once at his one man show in New York …Chazz is truly One of the great ones .. ..

    I’m 50 years old now. Took so many life lessons from those iconic lines in A Bronx Tale. I have 2 daughters & when they were both old enough, I sat them down & made them watch the movie. For the if she unlocks your door when you walk around the car scene. They both still do that till this day. The $20 bucks scene… Just sent that to my son this morning. Great movie, great cast!

    I met Chazz several years ago in Florida. What a nice person. I met him at his moms home in Deerfield Beach. His mom gave me a picture of Chazz, his Dad and Robert De Niro on the set of the Bronx Tale. His mother and sister were so nice to me and Chazz was really down to earth. It was like talking to a close friend. This interview was great to watch and hear. Mr. Franzese thanks for doing this.
