This was originally going to feature four(!) different videos but I ramble for too long as it is. So, I broke my big ol' BAND-MAID reaction video into two parts.
First, I check out their latest song #bestie and follow up with maybe one of the better live performances I have watched this year in Don't You Tell ME.
What's in Part 2? Part 2 answers a question that has been rattling around the vacant parts of my head for many months now. I finally answer the question...

I have the DVD of this show. Highly recommended. The show was 3 hours and never boring.
Here’s an idea of how the band gets along. Saiki forgot the lyrics of a song, this was a while ago. She started laughing, went back for a drink of water, the band kept playing , with smiles on their faces, Miku singing when harmonies were needed, until Saiki got it together and returned to singing.
Thanks for the reaction and comments. They are arguably the best live rock band on the planet. Their stage presence is off the chart and at a level most other bands only dream about ever achieving. It's criminal they don't have greater name recognition and fan base. Do check out Hate? from the same concert. Don't You Tell ME was just the warmup song. Cheers!

They are famously all very close friends. They talk a lot about that and it's very clear to anyone watching. (It's also clear that the lyrics to "Bestie" are very much about that friendship.) They have a ball on stage. And you haven't even seen most of the crowd interaction and comedy. They have a huge sense of humor, several running gags, and they love to goof with and on each other.
If your pt. II doesn't include the official live video of "Hate?" from the same show, you've made a colossal blunder (which you can easily rectify).

It's been a while, but glad you're back to Band-Maid. I really love "Bestie" and agree, it's very "digestible" for someone who may not be a huge "Rock/Metal" fan. I hope it does reach a larger audience and the look deeper into Band-Maid and experience great music. As for "Don't You Tell ME", I love watching reactors mirror Kanami's head back and forth move at 16:16. And watch the awe and jaw drops as Kanami and MISA have a conversation. I flew to Japan to see this concert and it was AMAZING! This is one of the bonus for the Masters and Princesses who attend their Okyu-ji's, they will often do added/extended solos or intros. Talking about showing appreciation for their Masters and Princesses, you should watch "Endless Story" from this same show. Keep the captions on and note the last verse was added specifically for this show. PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘

1. Imagine that face off between Misa and Kanami that you just watched, only faster and Super Charged with the energy of a star gone nova!
2. The final song of the entire tour, an emotionally charged and perfect ending, mostly due to Saiki really opening herself up and putting on what many say is her finest performance. (I'm inclined to agree!)

I saw them in Houston in 2022 and we wanted to get as close to Kanami since I was very interested in seeing her up-close when playing live. We were about 5 rows back on Kanami's side, but I have to say I was basically hypnotized by Saiki the whole time. You are absolutely correct in saying that she has a presence that you cannot teach. I didn't think I was going to be so easily enthralled, but there's just something about her on stage. Nothing against the rest of the band, because I love them all, but I converted to a Saiki fanboy that day.
Simply my opinion. She should teach classes ^_^
Band-Maid and The Warning are also teaming up, at least live, in Tokyo June 12th. Will we get a collab original song release?
That would be cool, right?

I appreciate that! I know I didn't spend much time on her this time but the I am very aware of Akane's drumming. I think she is incredible!

Really enjoyed this reaction/review. I liked Bestie the more I heard it. The fact that the collaboration was not a record company or management invention. But a genuine appreciation when they met at a music festival and The Maids helped Mike Einzinger find the milk back stage (so the story goes) is just so typically charming and Band Maid like. Band Maid supported Incubus recently in Tokyo and Mikey San came on to play on this song when they performed it. He hugged each one of them and they clearly all got on. Don't you tell ME was from the wonderful Yokohama 10 anniversary concert. What a wonderful concert it was. Even on line watching or on DVD. Three and half hours of pure joy. MISA is the shy one but just occasionally she can be spotted gurning at a fans camera or smiling. But when you can play like she does she can do what she likes. Great reaction, thank you.

Last year, Band-Maid performed at a 1-day festival, Pointfest in St. Louis. Incubus was the headliner act. Mike came to watch part of their set and posted about them on Instagram.
Supposedly, they initially met in the catering tent where Mike asked Akane where the milk was. The maids refer to him as Mikey-chan. Band-Maid was the opening act for Incubus in Tokyo this month and Mike came out and joined Kanami on guitar on this song.
A lot of people are going with the milk story so I'm inclined to believe it.

You wouldn't recognize Saiki back in the early days because of how shy she was. She is definitely not the front woman you see today
So that riff is a Mike riff for sure. Kanami loved it because it's not something she'd ever come up with. Mike is like a huge fan since he saw them in St. Louis last year. They said their forthcoming album coming out this summer will be full of collabs with Western artists.

[Bestie, co-written by Michael Einziger of Incubus.] MISA's playing and bass tone are setting new standards... and Akane's drumming is so in-the-pocket and distinguishable... and Kanami's solo is Daydreaming masterful! The recording and mix are as enjoyable as the song and beautiful MV! Miku’s English lyrics (I bet with Saiki and Mikey-chan's influence) are heartfelt. "I can't look into your eyes." Is Band-Maid a band of fashion-forward, trend-setting Besties? 💞 Thx, Mikey & Band-Maid!
