Amazing trip report. For such a long flight like this one, I'd expect bigger and higher-quality meals.

Great trip report! Truthfully, Delta's 777 is a much better option than United or American's 787s as Delta configures their 777s in a pretty spacious 3-3-3 configuration.

I flew this flight in economy back in 2015 and, having watched this video, I must say the service quality has dropped. It is definitely not as good as it was back in 2015. Back then, dinner was better (3 separate containers for main dish, salad and dessert on a normal size tray), mid-flight snack was bigger (sandwich, banana and granola bar) and breakfast was very filling (french toast, sausage and scrambled egg on a tray). I guess this is what happens when an airlines is trying to increase profit.

I totally agree with you. It was my first experience on any American airlines on long haul, and was disappointing.

I guess, the reduced service is part of their new dining concept. As Delta announced their new concept, it was said that they will serve a larger main meal, a bun and a mid-size salad... All this should be finished with a dessert at the end, which should be served separately. Back then, when I flew with them in summer 2019 to Tampa they served snacks after take off followed by a full hot meal with salad, main meal, dessert, bun and some smaller side dishes... As a midflight-snack we got a small sandwich and a cockie and before arrival we got a pizza and icecream... So I guess they downgraded the service instead of increasing the passenger experience although Delta claimed they wanted to enhance the dining experience with their new concept
