Also, I have a question so currently there is a part time job that is hiring for sterile processing techs that are non-certified and it says it will provide on the job training. Do you recommend that job to a current college student who is wanting to work in the medical field?
Yes if you want an intro to surgery and medical terminology. If you really want to learn indept you have to be vocal on learning. If not you get lost in the job. I mean I made sure to ingest the in and out of the department. Stayed late, came in early. I asked a lot of questions. I asked about the surgeries and schedule. Hi yes it is overwhelming at time. If you really want to try it I say work night it's slower, or ambulatory surgical center that are staff. The majority of the problem with SPD is staff shortage.
