When i was a child we never heard a lot about Halloween Night, With my own children heard a little more, with my grandchildren a whole lot more and find it quite exciting and interesting.
We had in Detroit area where I grew up the night of October 30 was called Devils night. Where it was a bunch of older kids running around and was supposed do be little mischief stuff but unfortunately some took it too far 😢. I think they finally put a stop to that in the 90’s. I’m not sure I moved away in the 80’s to Colorado where they didn’t have such a night.
I LOVE the heart quilt behind you. Do you know who created the pattern? A Halloween story: When my sister was 6 or 7, my mom made me take her out for trick-or-treat on Halloween night. (I was six years older, so too "mature" for such kid stuff, and was crabby about taking her around.) When someone was giving a treat she knew I liked, she would point me out (standing alone at the end of the sidewalk), announce that she felt bad because our mom made me go with her, and then ask if she could have a piece of candy for me. The mom giving the treats always thought that was so sweet that my sis would get an extra handful of candy. 🤣🤣🤣 Side note: I did not know what she was doing at the time. I thought she was just sharing her candy with me when she got something good. She only admitted to asking for extra when we saw how *much* candy she had when we returned home.🍬
You sister sounds like a very savvy young lady🤣 The heart quilt I just made up myself inspired by a quilt I found on Pinterest. It was a jelly roll quilt by J. Michelle Watts. I know she had a pattern for it but I don’t know if she’s still selling. The Pinterest link tells me the shop is closed. I didn’t use her pattern, just draw a similar shape heart on squared paper and went from there. I made a larger version with 2.5” strips cut from stash for a gift and knew I really wanted to scale it down for a wall hanging. I made it with 1.5” strips and I love it!

Night riders - sounds like a club for motorbikers lol😂
I tried to stay awake last night cause it was a high possibility to see northern lights but I was too tired.
