Yes I did stick with the stock heads. I had them machined and a new set of springs and retainers from CompCams. Ill have more videos up soon. It gets the exhaust put on this week and the the disc brake 9inch. Thanks for checkin it out:)
The bottom end is stock out of a 78 Bronco. The cam is the Thumpr Cam ahe the head were redone using stock valve and new springs and retainers. I have Sanderson headers and FlowMaster 40 series mufflers. C6 trans a 2.75gears at the moment. I am in the process of rebuilding a disc brake 9inch with 3.73s. Eventually I plan on rebuilding the lower end and doing a 434 stroker. TMeyers has all the good stuff for the engines.

I am so pleased with my cam. I seen one video about the Thumpr cam and I had to have it. I gonna try to get a better video of the car with Flows on it, it sounds so sick!
Are those headers Sanderson FC4? Are the outlets near where the manifolds exit? I am trying to find a set that will fit a Torino, so maybe these will work in my car. How is that cam for power over the stock setup?
The cam is awesome. Gears and stall are a must though. The headers, if I recall are FC4s. The are for a 71-73 Ford Mustang. I have tons of clearance in my wagon. Id say you would have about the same amount of clearance in your Torino.
You sure they are fc4? Got a 77 marquis 4dr they don't seem like they'll fit mine. Friend thinks they aren't going to have room. Just dropped in a somewhat rebuilt motor into it. Rv cam/springs etc. Afraid to even try and removd the exhaust bolts knowing they could break. Already happened once and ruined a set of heads (friend broke easy out off in it no way to get it out.) Thankfully I had another set off the old engine.
hey mate. im from australia. im in the process of rebuilding my 400M. What are the specs for this engine. bearings etc. all the info you know on the engine and gearbox. and diff ratios. stall converter etc etc
jason taylor cool. to my knowledge no one makes an aftermarket crank for the 400. I assume it's a stock nodular crank that is cut and bushed at the rod or is it just a stroker piston with a higher wrist pin? what compression do you plan to run?
Stock now. The stroker kit comes with 9.5:1 pistons, rods, crankshaft, balancer and flexplate. Check Tim Meyers out. He's out of Minnesota and he is awesome when it comes to the 335 engines. He's built a lot of power house Cleveland's 351M/400s

Sounds like you have a great set up already as far as trans, headers, carb and intake. I bought the came and lifters only. I'm not sure what is included in that kit? I did use CompSprings on my heads. 1.64s if I remember correctly.

After removing the smog junk and going through it. The engine runs extremely well. And I built it for me and to be different. Sure, I could've done the 429/460 route. I have a 429CJ in the garage.

Did u use the stock pushrods with the pedestal mount rockers?
are you using the 76cc open chamber 2v heads? if yer gonna redo the bottom end are you planning on going with the 400 crank?
Yes the head are 2v. I am going to go with the Tmeyersinc 434 stroker kit..

that is the cam. You're gonna need headers, gears and a stall.
I'm putting it in my pulling truck 460 Ford. Right now it has headman long tube headers Highrise intake 750 carb msd ignition and a good clutch.
K34-600-5 is the part number 450$ for the cam kit.

Its a GM style distributor yes. Its got the Ford ecm under the cap. I used it to eliminate all the wires and coil from being all over the engine.

351M opened up is a monster.
351M has very high torque. Just not a lot of HP stock
What thumper cam is it .I have a 351m in a 64f100 sis tou change valve springs also? Thank you in advance
