It's not like I've not visited Japan for work, I've done so 37 times. Mostly to Tokyo and Osaka, but I was too busy from business meetings to business meetings to even look around in leisure. Your Journeys have done for me that no country has ever managed to do for me that is invoking a wish that I was born in Japan, well, I could fit in their since I'm considerably sharp eyed coz' of my Mongolian Heritage further up my ancestry. But, I guess I love my country with all its short comings way too much, yet the wish of being born in Japan persists courtesy you. Thank you for your wonderful journeys. It's always a sheer pleasure.

Enjoyed the service in the Gold Lounge at Tokyo-eki back in December...we were the only ones there which made it even better. 1350 JPY for your chirashi is $8.67 USD...if this quality/quantity were served in the US, it would be at least $60USD (9,000 JPY)! Even then the quality in Japan would be 10x better. Great post as always.

In the uk we use a knife and fork for almost everything but spoons for things like cereals, desserts, soups and with spaghetti dishes alongside a fork.
It’s part of their culture to clean up after themselves and others. If only this were taught in the US, our cities wouldn’t be so dirty…especially the hoods

Your videos always make me miss Japan so much. Especially seeing places I have visited and all the delicious food. Talking about food, that was an interesting thought about eating curry with fork. Yes we do that in Europe. But also, after my long trips in Japan and elsewhere in Asia I often feel using fork little bit strange. I don’t like the taste of the metal before I get again used to it.
It's probably because it's difficult to use chopsticks to eat from a big plate/boat thingy like that. We usually use chopsticks with rice from a bowl since you can easily pick up the bowl and the sides are higher for support.
I used to live in Nanao, in Ishikawa, close to the Noto area, you could get top quality fish there and enjoy the smells from the fish factory, lol. I explored all of Ishikawa, when I lived there, it was a very lovely place!

18:39 traditional foods are still mostly hand, spoons and forks aren't dexterous enough to eat them. But with western (or eastern) food, utensils are the go to.
