I love Ons Jabeur, but one feels as though she's similar to Casper Ruud: a fine player, capable of making it deep into the slams, but perhaps not able to make it to the very top. They both make the most of their talent, but I'm doubtful that either of them will ever lift a GS over their heads. I'll be very happy if she proves me wrong!

yeah the only thing tho is that jauber is 2-6 and casper is 19/4 for the year as of right now. Casper is playing good tennis and is back in the top 10 and the only reason ons is even getting wta points still , is bc of her wimbledon points giving her byes in the first round of so many tournaments. Shes just not good. I think that comparing capser ruud to ons is an insult to him and his talent. Respectfully of course

I am blown away by how well Collins is playing this year, especially during this current streak. She is running players off the court with HUGE shots to the corners and at extreme angles, making really good players look overmatched. Much as I like Ons and am hoping that she, like Medvedev on the ATP side of things, can find something to reinvigorate her, I’m so glad to see Collins winning!!! I mean, not only is it another match for America, but she’s one of my favorite players in general! I’m hoping that she and Emma Navarro will go very far in this tournament🤩 Also rooting on Sloane Stephens, but it’ll be tough since she has to play two matches in one day. That type of scheduling is inexcusable.

At Indian Wells, she said her knee was around 80% and where her injury is chronic, this might be the best it'll feel for the remainder of her career. But natural surfaces are much easier on the knees than hard court, so she might come to life a bit the next few months. I thought she played much better today than her other losses this year.

The rot started when she was odds on favourite to win Wimbledon last summer but she lost yet again at the final hurdle, that destroyed her psychologically and she hasn't recovered from that since because as she said in an interview recently, had she been Wimbledon champion she would have taken a break to start a family but now her life is literally on hold at the moment and alas for her it looks like her poor form is likely to continue, sadly.
