Sending you well wishes! If I can offer one bit of advice, based on the many surgeries I have had over the years, is to not push yourself too hard too fast during recovery. For me there's usually a time where I feel great and then get excited to be active and then overdo it, which sets you back a lot further than you otherwise would have been. Be patient and listen to your body and you'll be just fine!
This.
From experience I fully agree with this advice. I rarely take my own advice and usually pay the price but try to keep activity to a minimum. Glad you are OK.
missed opportunity here!
SANDING you well wishes!
🤣🤣🤣
Ok ok, I'll see myself out, don't push guys :D
Dang Johnny sorry to hear man! Landing at 27mph is nuts. Prayers for a speedy recovery 💪
Stud Pack in the house!!! Frame this guy up a like button so we can smash it!!!
Blows my mind that you went to a hospital and they didn't just fix it. Might be a pain in the ass in Australia with a lot of things, but that's nuts. Hope you heal up fast.
Hell of a way to mark a million subs.
I had a similar surgery on my dominant elbow from a bike wreck a few years ago, so I feel the pain. Good luck on the recovery.
Ouch!
I wish you a speedy recovery!
Know the feeling.. Got a bunch of screws and a plate in my right heel about a year ago.. Crushed the heel falling of a ladder.. The fot is still not healed.. 100% NOT recommended!
How you're back on your "feet" soon! ❤
Oh Man! Feel better soon Johnny
Oh man!! So glad you're on the mend. I've broken both collar bones, and it's so painful. Take care dude!!
Both!? Sheesh. How did you manage to do that?
Hi 👋, and totally agree with Sax, don’t push it too soon, Phil from the moulin France.
Ouch. Very sorry to hear, man. Heal up quickly brother.
All things considered landing at 27mph and the collar bone being the only major injury is crazy. Glad it wasn’t any worse. Stay safe.
Good to see you are on the mend. Had to be a rough landing 😬
I've had a collarbone fracture that didn't require surgery and a couple other fractures that did - all from biking - so I feel your pain. Start looking for a PT so you have one once you're cleared to start. A good PT will push you as hard as is medically sound but no harder - trust their guidance.
Prayers! Get better soon.
That sucks, but glad that was the extent of your injuries. I suffered a grade 3 AC joint separation in march from MTB. No surgery, but things are finally getting back to normal where there isn't any pain or "tiredness" of my shoulder after strenuous workshop stuff. Definitely a reality check that I'm not 25 any more. I ride within my age limit now. LOL!
I feel your pain. In July, I also broke my collarbone mtn biking on my dominant hand, I've got a plate and 11 screws.
At least you are not alone! I am a lefty with the exact same broken collarbone and had a plate with 4 screws. Only difference is i managed to do it on a gravel bike 😂 was 2 years ago, all good again! You'll get there too.
Hi 👋, I hope you have a speedy recovery, all the best for the future, Phil from the moulin France.
Broke my collar bone mountain biking as well. Did mine on an e-bike as well. I was lucky, mine didn't require surgery, but the 3 broken ribs, really making sleeping suck. Get well soon.
Wishing you a fast recovery ❤.
Dang, sending you warm thoughts and prayers! Get well soon!
Here is to a speedy recovery! Congrats on a mil subs
Sorry to hear you that got hurt like that, but glad that you were able to get treatment quickly and have an awesome network of people to support you as you recover.
Glad you're out of the woods. Heal up and get after it. Cheers, man.
Aww, sounds painful! So glad to see and hear that you're on the road to recovery though, new subbie here! Blessings and wishing you a smooth healing, take care of yourself and don't rush it! 💪🏽🥹🙏🏽
Glad you weren't worse hurt! Phew. I've had a bunch of orthopedic surgery on my knees and I think it makes you a more compassionate human to go through that... after you're done being in so much pain. Speedy healing!
Best wishes on a speedy recovery!
I broke my collarbone just as bad as you but was just running across the street when I tripped over my dog’s leash. I had 5 days between injury and surgery and just like you, those days sucked. After surgery and stabilizing everything, it was so much better. Still have the plate in 6 years later. Occasionally uncomfortable but not worth another surgery to remove it right now
Big ouch, man. Get yourself into physio as soon as you can (a lot earlier than you'd think) to keep your joints from freezing up, and be prepared for a pretty long journey afterwards to recover your strength and range of motion. But however long the journey is, you'll get through it.
Wishing you a swift recovery. I've been through the same break and surgery from a road bicycle accident a few years back. When you feel good, don't rush back to full use too soon - you'll set yourself back longer.
Speedy recovery bro..fun fact I used to make those bone plates. Our sister company in Mooresville, NC probably made those.
Praying for a quick and full recovery!
Glad the surg was a success and you're on the way to healing up and getting back after it. Thanks for the update, good luck!
Man that is a bummer, I lived in Horse Shoe back in 1996-1998. I wish you a quick recovery.
Johnny you have officially paid the blood price to the bike Gods and been anointed as a real MTB'er in return, congratulations! 🤣Just kidding my man, but I am glad to see you in such great spirits despite the hardship. Keep that chin up and we'll be back out there shredding in no time! 🤘
Thanks for sharing with us! Hoping for a speedy recovery. 🤞🏻
sorry to see and congratulations on a million!
My boy had same surgery from snowboarding accident. Plate and 6 screws in there. He healed so fast it was crazy. You'll be good to go in no time
Sorry to hear you're having to deal with this! When I had a motorcycle wreck 20+ years ago, I messed up my clavicle and found I slept best in a recliner. I slept in it for 2.5 months, so give that a shot if you haven't tried it already. All the best in your recovery!!
wishing you a speedy recovery!
Man, sorry to hear you had to deal with that. I always assumed an injury like this you just go to the ER and they get the bone set. Having your bone broken like that for 6 days sounds miserable!
Glad it's behind you and you're already on the mend.
Oh man Jonny, that sucks so bad! Hope it heals up quick and it doesn't get in the way too much in the meantime. Take care!
Wishing a speedy recovery!
Wow! That's a really serious injury, I'm glad you're doing well so quickly, which is a definite blessing. Hopefully you'll be back to biking soon
I wish you speedy recovery!!
Praying for the fullest possible recovery that you can achieve in the shortest amount of time 🙏🏼❤️👍🏼👊🏼
Glad the injury wasn’t worse and you’re on your way to recovery. I’m also a rider (found your channel through Seth) and know the pain of not being able to ride due to an injury. Wishing for a fast recovery
Wishing you quick recovery mate
Johnny, I feel for you!!! Hope you are feeling better and healing well. I know what you mean by not being able to do everything you want. Back in the 80's, I got my left are cut by a 14" Dewalt Radial Arm saw!!! Bones, nerves, ligaments and all the rest cut in two....100's of stitches on the inside and more on the outside!!! Took about 6 months to heal.
Get well soon!!!!
Wishing you a speedy recovery
Johnny I wish you the best during this hard difficult time and take it easy. hopefully things will be back to normal soon
Mine still hurts 30 years later, and I can't sleep on that side because of the sharp pieces still stabbing. Good thing you got that surgical procedure.
Oooof! Given the bruising on your right shoulder, not even to mention that X-ray as well, that’s one helluva slam you took! Sending all the best for the healing process! Glad you’re doing ok!
Sorry to hear about that, hope you speedy recovery
Wishing you all the best and hope you get better soon.
Rally glad you are feeling better. Can't wait to see you futurs videos about your truck, shop, tools and etc !! Get well soon
Wow! That sucks when you get hurt having fun. Glad you’re on the road to recovery!
Oh man, that sucks. Hope you recover quickly. I dislocated my collar bone about 20 years ago and remember how painful it is. Rest up, you’ll be back quicker if you do.
Hope you feel better soon!!!
Hope your recovery is full and swift, and all the rehab you have to do over the next couple of years isn’t too boring, or uncomfortable. You got this Johnny. 💪🏻
Bummer! I'm sorry to hear about your crash. I just separated my shoulder a couple months ago at a local pump track. Shoulder injuries are no bueno! Physical therapy has helped immensely, and I can't recommend it enough. Good luck recovering! You'll be shredding again by spring!
Sorry to hear that! I was in a car accident and broke my ulna in my forearm the same any, among other bones. I can definitely relate to that feeling of your broken bones moving funny in your body. You'll never forget that feeling. I also got the same type of surgery with a metal plate holding my bone together, and it's still there after over 20 years.
Hope you heal up fast and don't don't have any movement limitation. My arm healed up got almost all mobility back, but I've never been able to throw again after that. Luckily I'm not a baseball pitcher!
Oh man, hope you recover quickly
Hang in there man. I broke my ankle a few years back and had plates/screws put in. There will be good days and bad days but slowly you'll start to feel more normal. It just takes time. You got this.
Sorry to hear about your injury. I was involved in a car crash five years ago that left me with permanent nerve damage down my right side and I've lost the use of (what was) my dominant right hand and arm. I took up woodworking as I wanted to learn a new skill and help with my physical and mental recovery and I decided to document this journey on RUclips. It's amazing how well the body adapts to change and I'm pretty good with my left arm now as it's the only one that works 😂. Woodworking has really helped with learning those fine motor skills and also engaging the problem solving part of my brain learning how to make things with wood using only one arm (the answer is multiple clamps!). Best wishes in a speedy recovery from Liverpool, England. Leo 👍
Praying for a quick recovery.
I don't normally follow your channel but have seen you on the other MTB channels a few times. Bummer to see you got injured. Hopefully all the healing goes by quickly with no hiccups!
You officially have more titanium in your body than the new iPhone. Wishing you a speedy recovery dude!
Hope you heal up fast!
Glad you're on the mend. Bike crashes can suck super bad. I hope your recovery goes well and fast.
Get well!!! Hopefully soon.
Ouch! Take it easy. Slow and steady.
I hope your shoulder recovers well. I had a shoulder operation back in June so sympathise with you.
Dang man, so sorry you’re going through this!!
I just rode berm peak for the first time on Thursday after not riding for a year and it kicked my butt!!!
I’m in N Asheville and would be happy to lend a hand if you need it in the shop.
Praying for a quick recovery man!
Heal up dude! Have been there with the Clavicle fracture from a mtb crash. Hurts like crazy😂
Get better soon!
Get well fast!
Hope you get well soon!
Sorry for your experience, and wishing you a speedy and complete recovery....but the nipple blur made me laugh way too hard. 🤣
Glad it was not worse, although it i bad enough... Best of Luck Healing!!!!
Wow! I hope you recover well!
At least it's going into winter so you don't miss out on much riding!
Wish you fast recovery and take one day at the time
Really glad you ar ok. Take it easy for a while.
Sorry to hear. I injured my dominant hand a year ago and it's definitely tough. For me the injury was a drain mentally since I had such a hard time doing everyday things. Take it easy and recover quick.
So sorry for your crash 😂 I know exactly how you feel because I did the exact same thing. I also broke two fingers and bent my bicycle center tube in the process. So yay I looked at your pictures and it brought back memories. But now all we can do is laugh out loud and remember what not to do next time. Be safe and heal fast buddy get back to making more wood working vid’s.❤
you will heal and get back to the shop ! Take it easy for a while !
Here's to a quick recovery - I just watched Friday Fails then clicked on your video - quite appropriate 😉
I’ve broken my right clavicle 3 bloody times now. First time I had to let it heal naturally which was 3 months of hell but the next two times was surgery and the surgery is sooooooooo much better than letting it heal on its own. Horrible horrible bone to break! I also broke mine on bikes but it was two dirt bike accidents and one road accident (hit by a car). Hope it heals up quick and you can get back to life.
hope you'll be better soon!
I feel ya. Broke my ankle in 3 places in June this year. Hearing you talk about that week between the injury and surgery and feeling those bones crack and click brought tears to my eyes. I think that may have been the hardest time of my 47 year life. Sending you lots of wishes and luck for a speedy recovery.
A fellow lefty with his left arm in a sling! I got surgery to reattach my bicep tendon on Wednesday. Arm in a sling for 6 weeks and restricted duties for 12 weeks. I feel your frustration! Be good to see what accommodations you make for woodworking with one arm. I got myself a gorilla grip and a bora portamate panel carrier so far, and am going to probably get myself a mft top with a lot of dogs to assist with holding work pieces. Perhaps a video on the topic?
Well wishes! I absolutely snapped my leg and shattered my ankle in a bike crash a few years ago, I can relate to what your feeling! As my mom used to say to me as a kid, nothing that won't heal in 6-8 weeks haha
Well wishes coming your way!
Gute Besserung Johnny!✌
Hey man, I know it’s not much, but I just live up the road an hour or so, I’m not a master woodworker but both my shoulders work and I’ve got some experience. So, if you’re needing any help, I’d be more than glad to run down on a Friday or something and help out with anything if ya need it. Obviously that seems weird, but I’ve been offered so much help and good will in the community of woodworkers that it’s only right for me to offer what I can. Get well soon man.
Injuries like that suck... glad you have people that can help ya continue projects
Currently recovering from breaking my elbow in a mtb accident. I feel your pain bro, get better soon and can’t wait to see the next videos!
I had the exact same surgery, still got the plate and screws 20 years later!
I hope you have a speedy recovery. A friend of mine broke both collar bones (by simply tripping and as she caught herself they both broke) at the same time about 2 years ago, and the advice she said she'd give anyone is not to overdue it, let the recovery happen in it's own time.
Ouch! Did the same thing around 40 years ago. One of the most painful breaks because they can’t set it in plaster. Sleeping was a nightmare. Lots of painkillers and time off school which I was more than happy about! Only issue I have now is that it sometimes aches a bit in the cold damp weather. Glad you’re starting to feel better, just don’t rush the recovery, give you’re body time to heal. Best wishes from 🇬🇧
