I recently did my centre console on my e89. It was getting worn and scratched, so I wrapped it in fake black suede…looks amazing! Nothing wrong with improvements…you got to make it your own! Anyway…your car looks amazing now ! 😎
Nice car 👍. Just got a 3.0i 6 speed. Honestly the funnest car ever. To anyone on fence - if you love driving and don't need a backseat.. Just buy one thank me later
Interesting vid as I recently had the bumper off with similar issue of broken plastics and missing fixings. The clips and star washers are quite cheap from BMW. Have you sealed the foam in the door card with anything? Our Z4 had a water leak that soaked the carpets which was due to the foam inner piece (that you cut) in the door, not sealing properly allowing any water that runs through the door to get into the car. The angle of the door means that the foam seal is integral to keeping out water and a pig of a job to dry the car out. The seal in the caps on the back of the headlights also seem to leak if they are removed, which may be the reason for the condensation on the old lights - eventually it will destroy the ballast if xenons are fitted, as it drains water into the 'sealed' box under the headlight.
Sorry for the late reply, i pit it back in place and sealed it with silicone. It wasnt pretty but hoping to avoid what happened with yours even though i didn't know that was somnething that could happen. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the positivity, i use all my cars often and i'll do a video showing them all in the next month or so. The one i use most is probably my Range Rover L322, i bought it last July and love it, absolute luxury, go anywhere etc.
@@blandsbarn interesting, I have these and they worked fine for ages and then randomly started getting fast indicators on one side. Had two auto electricians look at it and both have given up trying to find the issue. I’m tempted to just buy new lights and see if that helps
@@lukewatts7693 Some Z4s have 2 indicator bulbs per headlight and when one blows the indicator appears to work but flashes double speed. Take care with the rear cover on the headlight as once open they can let in water. You can reverse the seal to try to get a better contact, add sealant or buy the whole cover including the seal.
I got them off ebay, www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400815371352?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=1dq9HZNARte&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=f6hjmjomTB6&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
I’ve recently bought an 04 plate E85 and the most important thing for me was no after market bull. If you’re going to own one keep it original. Those carbon fibre stickers are awful!
I bought a 3l e85 z4 for cheap (spent a bit restoring it), and I get what you mean with the trim under the handbrake. Thats just a coin tray for most people, which will get scratched at it appears to be painted plastic. I'm not keen on the carbon stickers, but those don't look too bad, but I'd rather not. I'll probably wind up getting the gear stick gator and steeringwheel re-trimmed and swap out /re-trim the seats. It is a fun car to drive, there is no denying that, but the gold wheels and the grills look ricey af:)
I really enjoyed this video. It's to the point. I have a 2005 Z4. I love it. However I have a 2006 with no motor or transmission. I'm going to gut it completely and install I 6.2 ls2 with a 4L80 transmission.
That window repair looks like a thing to try and avoid, still something to consider when you wind your windows up and down all the time. Love these cars, I was lucky enough to get an M, just a roadster, but in candy apple red with black roof. I didn't realise just how different the interiors where, the carbon fibre effect is just subtle... or for this car I guess minimalistic... Anyways, I enjoyed seeing how these are put together, plastic fantastic springs to mind, thanks for the video... hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine.
Here’s the key. Clean your windows often. It’s usually the dirt that causes high friction and eventually the stress causes damage to the motor unit. I did mine on my SUV. It was cheaper to just buy the motor unit than do a repair job. $20 for the motor unit IIRC.
Motor unit came with cross members and everything to advance and retard the window winder. PITA to replace initially but once you suss it out it’s actually easy. It’s like doing a ship in a bottle puzzle!
What would your ideal purchase be for £5K, I do think the BMW brand in general is overrated however I do really enjoy driving this Z4. It quite rough on english roads as it doesnt like pot holes but it does really makes you smile.
You're a good presenter, enjoyable.
Wow, than ks very much, thanks for watching

Mine has chrome radiator grilles and I really like the look against black paint background. But yours looks really good too. Choices right ?

Did your indicators flash fast and trigger the “bulb out” light after changing the headlights?
No, all worked fine once I actually fitted the bulb! Thanks for watching

What bulb did u have to put in? Was a H1 for lowbeam? R u Happy with the supplied H7 highbeam or would it be good to use h7 philip whites?
Not sure to be honest, I had some in a random pack and can’t remember. Sorry. Thanks for watching

I will never buy a BMW. I live in Bavaria.

@@blandsbarn Do you have run-flat tyres still ? If so ditch them. You’ll thank me. Just buy a tyre plug kit (gummy worm type) and you’ll be set.
