The videos she makes require so much research and effort, and they're literally the best when compared to other vidson RUclips on the same topic. I loved how deep she went into the apple cider rinse and rice water rinse. Everyone cares for their hair. She's just putting it on RUclips so that many people can benefit from it. Monar 0_0 I kinda agree but I have the same type of wavy hair and hair problems as her and she’s the only one who is doing the research to see what will work for this type of hair, as I can’t seem to find any other sources where hair is talked about in more depth than simply using surface free shampoo and not using heat tools so I do wanna see where she’ll find success. But if it’s impacting her badly enough then it’s not worth it and I’d be fine with her prioritising herself instead

I think when you decide to wear your hair natural you just have to accept and even romantize frizzy days. On those days where the hair doesn't form perfect ringlets or waves you could put it up or half up and in my opinion that can look really pretty. When you google vintage portraits, you will find the beauty of frizzy hair, it actually looks very romantic.

As a girl with wavy hair here are some tips:
1.Wash your hair with sulfate shampoo once a month to remove the build up.
2.Don't do co washing,it just does more bad than good to wavy hair.
3.Find out your hair porosity. My hair is low porosity so I wash it with warm water while hair with high porosity should be washed with cold water.
4.Put your leave-in while your hair is soaking wet (it will make it work better on wavy hair)
5.Avoid heavy oils like olive oil, coconut oil, castor oil etc.
6.Use not heavy oils like argan oil or jojoba oil.
7.Don't use too many, thick or heavy product.
8.This may be hard for some people but I air dry my hair upside down and when it is 80% dry I diffuse it with cold air. This method does wonders to my hair.
9.Deep condition your hair and do the bowl method. It will make your hair so soft.
    10.Avoid drying alcohol
    11.Don't do LOC(leave in,oil, cream) method.Instead,do LCO (leave in cream,oil) method
I'm still a beginner in CGM so I'm not an expert, but I hope I helped you. It has been 2 months since I started doing CGM and my hair looks amazing and way better than before.😊

I dont go by the CGM, insted we have a swedish type of CGM, called "balsammetoden" (the balmmethod). In that we talk about conditioner with proteins and/or moisture. Maybe it exist in CGM aswell?
My hair needs moisture and not proteins, so in the beginning when i used conditioner with proteins my hair got really dry, frizzy, and kind of what you describe. Tangled and did not look good. Seeing your hair after the avocado oil, it looks like your hair had protein overload. It's sensitive to protein so look into whether it is in your products. Castor oil also causes breakage. Your hair looks like mine when I was using protein in my shampoo, stringy, breakage and dry. Also natural is not always better, since I started using sulphates (your scalp needs to be cleansed for it to grow) again it's the longest and thickest it's ever been. Please also look into your diet if you are plant based it's easy for women to become anemic. I ended up in hospital because of it. I now eat a Mediterranean diet where people live some of the most long and healthy lives and my hair is the best it's ever been.

  • @syassamin
    @syassamin 4 года назад +18

I think because you're so focused on your hair, you're striving for something constantly that is unobtainable. Perfect hair just is not possible - none of us have hair that we love on a daily basis, but when you look at someone else's hair, you won't notice the flaws they see, and it's the same with you. What I mean is that when you focus on all the negatives (i.e. one bit of frizz, curls not sitting right) you stop looking at any of the positives. Your hair has got so much thicker, it's looking far shinier and more radiant.
With the avocado mask, it does sound like protein overload. Because hair is effectively dead protein, it doesn't really like to be overloaded with other sources of protein, which makes it quite dry especially when left on for a prolonged period. It's similar to what people struggle with when they do rice water soaks. The avocado might work on some hair types, but it might just not be right for you.
It's really sad to watch you struggle with this, because I've been there too. For months I have invested everything into my hair growing, focused on it all the time, and been almost disappointed when it's hardly grown. Letting go of that is the most positive thing I've done about it.

Made it to the end! Appreciate your honesty SO MUCH. My family thinks I’m completely insane when I obsess over my hair, it happens a few times a year. I check and recheck I stand in the mirror up to nearly an hour just examining all the angles and strands. My perspective of it then seems warped, almost like a form of dysmorphia? (Obvs I am not a doc but it’s an observation) I would almost say it goes to ocd levels of checking. I too thought I was balding at one point until I realised I was actually just looking too much. I have gone through phases of doing so many different masks, oils and treatments etc but actually I am happiest if I keep my routine minimal. Maybe that sends a signal from my brain to my hair that I am not obsessing and so my hair calms down (or my brain does and therefore I see my hair differently). You’re making progress and you’re not alone in how this effects you - don’t despair! You are quickly becoming my fav RUclipsr just because of your honesty and determination, you don’t sugar coat and you have a sense of humour about things. Big ups xxx

Thing is tho, its not just about your hair. I'm still waiting on the nose video you said you were gonna make (specifically about whatever you were doing to it in one of your previous videos, you know what I'm referring to). I really hope you'll see how beautiful you are, regardless of what your hair (and nose???) looks like. I have the same hair obsession, it's been a year that I discovered the CGM and I tryed a Shea Moisture Shampoo and from then I have dandruff problems and I am so exhausted, I tryed everything, nothing seems to work, and because of quarantine I can't go to a dermatologist. And my boyfriend told me that it was crazy the amount of hair videos that I watch everyday and I know, and I was ashamed of thid obsession. But now, watching your video I feel less alone, thank you for sharing, cause most of CGM videos only show you the beautiful results and tell you that it's gonna be better but I start to think that it's just not for me.

I really need to recommend you watch Manes by Mell on RUclips and maybe even slide into her DMS. I'm sure she'd be happy to help. She's like a hair scientist. Her videos about hydral fatigue, moisture, and protein overload and so many others have helped me so much in my hair journey. I could finally get products that I knew my hair needed. My hair was very similar to yours while I did the cgm, but once I stopped and just used the curly hair products that my hair enjoyed, my hair started to thrive!

A really good wavy hair person is swavy wavy courtney. im a wavy it took about 5 to 8 months for my hair to look good. my hair always looks different but its healty. Hang in there hon, dont give up. Also you should switch products in the winter and summer. Do your products have glycerin in them? I cant use any glycerin in my hair no matter what season it is.

Ive been on the CGM for 17 months and my hair has gotten kinda different as far as curl pattern, my hair was ringlets as if they were done with a curling iron , and it got around 3c/3b because i started to use silicone free alcohol free shampoo, conditioner and gel, and suddenly my methods dont work. Combine that w a bad haircut and its a mess. Also greek summer has made my hair drier and frizzier. So yeah, hair can change even through CGM

Hey Isabella, my hair used to be like yours, and maybe try this : for a month, so 4 weeks, do a hydrating mask (cream fresh, yogurt, aloe Vera) then the next week a nutrition mask (oil, honey) the next week the same hydrating mask etc... do hydrating then nutritive, then hydrating and again nutritive. my hair were dry, frizzy. I do this every 3 months and my hair really like this method, it took a year for my hair to improve with this technic ! Here is my advice : you say in your video that after avocado oil your hair are still dry, that’s because they are thirsty, not hungry, you should bring hydration in your hair. Without hydration, applying oil has no effect, because the inside of the hair is « empty », this is what I understood about my hair, and now they are stunning

Ur hair might have gotten used to the routine and acted similar to before cgm - frizzy but this time more curl. Try switching up ur products and see how that goes. Sometimes my hair gets used to the products I’m using and my hair doesn’t look so good anymore. I think it adapts to those and grows some resistance. Try switching to other products for a while but you can always come back. I always switch back and forth. Hope this helps! xx

im on a binge watching hair care videos trying to find better products for my hair, and i just happened to find yours yesterday, so serendipity that you have an update for us today- the texture change and dryness you showing here is exACTLY in line with so many other videos ive watched about that function of beauty shampoo. I really think that is playing a part here. I also looked into the marc anthony and maui moisture products you got in your first video because they looked so promising, but they have lots ingredients that so many sources say are too drying to be using on hair daily. I dont understand everything about every ingredient yet, but as others mentioned protein overload seems like a likely factor as well. finding good products is SO hard, when you were saying its not normal to do this much research into hair products, i was literally shouting "it should be!!"
