Have you tried the elf vitamin c serum ?
I literally saw the elf skin care yesterday and I almost bought it but I said to myself "ima hold off on buying it until Cassandra does a review video on it to see if it's worth it" lol
Just wait till you open your credit card statement. LOL
Cassandra! You beautiful butterfly….you are amazing and brilliant and I love the things you share to bring light to not only good skincare but also some awareness on the treatment of animals and more. But my dear…our earth….you need to educate yourself on the recycling of plastic. Many times you have talked about the benefits of this or that product packaging being recyclable….and it’s plastic.
My dear…back in the 80s big oil dumped millions of dollars into promoting the recycling of plastic. And since has dumped millions and millions more. But here’s the thing…while yes, plastics are technically recyclable….it is not time or cost effective to recycle it. So….less than 10% of the works plastic actually gets recycled.
Why? Big oil knows that if consumers think plastic is recyclable that we will be more apt to buy products in plastic. We will use it and then dump those water bottles and other plastic containers into our big blue recycling containers that the big recycling truck picks up. But then what? Well most of the plastic still goes to the dump. And big oil….guess what is needed to make new plastic? Oil. It’s so much more cost and time effective to make new plastic that companies buy new plastic and big oil has made BILLIONS off the millions they poured into convincing us to feel good about buying recyclable plastic when they knew it isn’t really going to get recycled. That’s why big oil invested in selling the whole concept. That’s why we believe it and….it works. But plastic is still not being recycled and it’s still winding up in landfills making up the majority of the trash there.

What do you think about the good molecules retinol?
Boots have their own lab and has been creating products since the thirties! Number 7 is their premiere line and their Retinol is amazing ( rated high with plastic surgeons!) Their products are wonderful. Fun fact, Boots chemists invented Ibuprophen in the 1800s! Yep, they are a pharmacy in the UK and have been around for centuries. x
Number 7 isn't cruelty-free, which boggles my mind a bit, but the Boots products are fine to use if you're cruelty-free. I use The Ordinary 1% which I absolutely love.
@@LynneConnolly No7 IS cruelty-free, only their parent company Walgreens Boots Alliance isn't
@@xShunsen you're right and I'm so relieved!
ELF doesn’t get enough credit. Everyone always buys the overpriced skin care products from Barbara Stern or Chanel when they’re complete rubbish you’re just paying for the name. Yet ELF is right there being affordable, the products do what they say and they’ve always been cruelty free, like what more do people want? Buy from them, support them instead of those brands models shove in your face from the Vogue YT channel.
I am starting to try products and so far happy
I agree. I’ve tried quite a few of their products and they’ve all worked so far. Elf, Pacifica and Wet n’ Wild are my favorite drug store skincare brands that are cruelty free and vegan.
The cleanser with ceramides for me worked better than cerave which is insane because I used it for 3-4 years.
just got the cleansing balm from elf can’t wait to use it 🙌
Love elf! Make up and their skin care ❤ some of it can be a miss but majority is amazing or just a matter of personal preference
I love, LUVVVV the ELF cleansing balm. It immediately turns from a solid to oil and actually DOES wash off with water!
Try korean cleansing balms or cleansing oils which are doing the same as elf, even better, emulsify with better and remove waterproof sunscreen dirt sebum makeup
I also really love the ELF cleansing balm. My fave is the Farmacy balm but Elf is a close second and almost a third of the price. I've been liking a lot of the Elf skincare lately. The cbd line is really nice- don't know that there's much efficacy in the cbd part, but they're really nice products regardless.
@Beep Boop of course kose softymo cleansing oil 250ml for $15. Dear klairs gentle black cleansing oil, im from fig cleansing balm $30 for 100g. My favorite is kose softymo. The most affordable.
YES. The elf cleansing balm is phenomenal. I’m on my third jar.
Elf is my go to brand. Neutrogena too.
That frudia pomegranate cream and so good and omg the scent.. I NEVER buy any product for the scent.. but that one .. omg it's like heaven to my nose.
I'm not a fan of the product, but that Glow Recipe Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream smells (and even looks) like banana pudding, and it is sooooooo good. Like, I want to eat it. 😩
I don't really love the cream, itself, and have basically just been using it as a cold cream "mask," but it smells absolutely amazing.
@@Acidfunkish crazy how everyone's tastes are so different. I dont care for the banna laffy taffy scent.
@@dominiquesiwulich4746 No, it's not that weird "old" banana candy smell. It smells like actual homemade banana pudding.
@@Acidfunkish I've smelled it at sephora and wasnt my taste. Glad u like it tho. Ive never been into banana smells
It would be great to know more about shampoos! I’m struggling with finding a decent shampoo for a year already, no idea how to choose and how to use them.
Me too !
I would find a cosmetologist for haircare products. The difference between the hair and skin can be surprising.
Try calia shampoos
Honestly super good inexpensive option for all hair types, especially if you have curly hair or follow the curly girl routine is Viori. I got it because I kept seeing ads and I’m so glad I did my hair is so soft now! If your willing to spend a little more and don’t have curly hair/ arent on the curly girl method drybar glass hair is super good too!
Use sunsilk honey or head and shoulder
The thing that annoyed me about the ELF skincare line was that the packaging is very clearly designed to make you think you're getting more product than you are. The box is too big and has a little platform inside to fill the box and the tub is also much bigger than it needs to be with loads of dead space which makes the packaging unnecessarily bulky
You're right!!! I hate was wasteful and deceptive that is 😫
I mean the packaging actually states the amount of product, so like...is it really that deceptive?
ok but does it work on your skin?
@@adryprincess5069 I have liked the products yeah but I would prefer more streamlined packaging.
@@livywoodward8666 , I get it.
Omg she's trying out boots brand ingredients, now buzzing for this in like 9 hours
I' m from the UK I love Boots brand!!
Dantilion What’s your opinion on their retinol?
Exactly. In the UK is even cheaper!
Wait till she finds Geek derma, they are amazing.
I love boots ingredients skincare line the hyaluronic acid sleep mask is amazing
I'm so happy I tried Elf skincare. Bought 3 mini kits and I like everything from them but the Happy hydration cream and the All the Feels facial oil are my favorites.
I had no idea Boots was cruelty-free! I love Elf skin care and make-up. My only gripe is that I wish more of the packaging was recyclable. Also, the Elf store has amazing sales- often 50-60% off lots of stuff around the holidays.
Thank you for talking about accessible affordable skincare! Can't wait to go see if my CVS has Frudia. I love their sunscreen too!
Sadly I feel like their sunscreen won't be sold in the US because of the sunscreen filters 😭😭 but the Frudia sunscreen is a great one!
Cassandra you have enlightened me. I can honestly say that I didn’t knew how to use the I ingredients list before I started watching your videos, but now I check any skincare product I buy.
Everything I have tried from the e.l.f. Holy Hydration line has been a total win for me. I'm 45 and have very sensitive, dry skin with rosacea so I've shied away from a lot of new products because too many have just caused flares or irritation and it's not worth the headache. But I tried the cleanser and was shocked at how good it was! Particularly for a foaming cleanser - didn't leave my skin feeling dry or stripped AT ALL. The cleansing balm is fantastic - even on waterproof mascara - and the skin cream (with and without SPF) are both part of my daily routine. It's just amazing to me how good this line is given how affordable it is!
I also love how many of the products come in travel sizes too! I love being able to have my usual skin care routine when I travel in airport friendly sizes without having to go through the rigamarole of filling my own travel containers (which can be less sanitary and just plain messy!) I definitely stan. :)
That being said, I'm definitely going to have to check out some of these other products! Thanks for always being both entertaining and transparent. If you recommend it, I know I can trust that it will be good.
I LOVE the Holy Hydration line. I have gone through tons of the moisturizer because it is my go to nighttime cream, and I just tried the cleansing balm and totally adored it. I need to get the one with SPF next!
Cassandra,
Thank you for being your authentic self. I somehow am just now starting on my skin care journey. To say, your videos have been the most refreshing rabbit hole to jump down, is an understatement HAHAHAHA. Your energy and passion for your craft is intoxicating. Thank you again for being you and creating such amazing content, hope to talk soon and hope you continue to have a FANTASTIC MON-YAY!!!!
I was wondering when you'd get around to trying the E.L.F skincare line. They are wonderful products. I have oily/combination skin depending on the season and their moisturizers and toner are what do the trick for me.
I literally just commented that I have oily dehydrated skin and have a makeup channel and use Elf for my regular skincare and skincare under makeup. They are amazing and have a lot of hidden gems that are only sold online tho
The energy on this is a total yes!!! Honestly I might try that elf super moisturizer thing… I might give my feed back on that comparison…
Such a great post cass. I’m so sorry I missed the premiere. You aired when I was in class 😭. I’m 100% going to try that cleansing balm. I’ve tried the holy hydration cream and loved it! Thanks for the great post❤️💜🦋
I tried a lot of other stuff from Boots in my teens when I had a boyfriend in the UK 🇬🇧 I heard about their Boots Ingredients skincare line and I’m so excited to try it. I saw that they’re sold at the bigger pharmacies here in Sweden 🇸🇪 (where I live). First and foremost I want to try their salicylic acid serum. But I’ve heard good things about their bakuchiol and their hyaluronic acid too.
I love that you’ve done this video because of the brand boots, I love that place. I’m from the UK!
Girl go in depth on the ELF SPF moisturizer! I wanna know more! I hate SPF that leaves a sheen or when I use a tinted one it rubs off on the nose pad of my glasses and turns my fancy white rimmed glasses tan. I need this in my life!!
I’m obsessed with everything ELF! So glad you like them! Just started watching you and I love your energy :)
I'm very glad that you have sort of done a review on the ELF skincare! I have been eyeing it for a few months and will probably get it now. Also been loving your content lately. 😁
Elf has replaced just about all my skincare, I still have to have my Farmacy but really, I get amazing results and performance with elf products and I do wish they would restock the Hydrating Water Essence , I can just use that after cleansing and be done
I LOVE the hydrating water essence! I have like 6 expensive toners and essences and I still go back to the elf. I love love love the farmacy cleansing balm that smells like key lime pie but the elf balm is a close second for a third of the price.
I’ve been in love with E.L.F moisturizers for a couple of years now
I’ve been using the elf cleansing balm for about a year and I LOVE it. It works well and rinses off clean, and the best part is the price and how accessible it is to get! I use the Holy Hydration moisturizer cream regularly as well now that they have a fragrance free version. Elf has some all around good skincare products, and I even got my husband to start a skincare routine using some of them!
I love that you love Frudia! Found it a year ago and now I have a FABULOUS blueberry cream that I've been raving about to all my friends...and the same Frudia sunscreen that you have! Goes on really well and stays put throughout the day !
Thank you for the video! I ordered a lipstick from the E.L.F. website that we didn't have in the drugstores near me and ordered some of their skincare! Super excited to try!!!
I've been using the E.L.F. Vit. C and been loving it, will definitely have to try out some of their other products when I run out of my other stuff!
I've been interested in the E.L.F for a while now, so I'm really happy you did this video. Especially the sunscreen, since I've tried a lot of them and they didn't really work for me so I'm hoping one one these will :)
Thank you Cassandra for reviewing these drugstore products! Your advice on skincare products and knowledge on the ingredients and good skincare routine tips have helped me so much and knowing that there are are inexpensive options is amazing and has got me excited to try these!
Also I am totally hoping and would totally love it if there will be a video on products that help with folliculitis and eczema or seborrheic dermatitis on the scalp and products that we can use on other parts of the body (if there aren't already some that's been made)!
Love your videos Cassandra! Thank you for always bringing everyone amazing content!
I can’t wait to see what you have to say about boots.. I’ve bought their cleanser and it’s very gentle and nice on my skin… I’ve bought mostly drug store skin care
Love love that you approve I just started using the balm and the night moisturizer in my routine 💙💙 and I've been using their makeup for years!
I ❤️ the e.l.f. Hydro-Gel Moisturizer! It's my absolute favorite right now! It sinks right into my oily skin and doesn't make me feel greasy!
Dollar General has a line called Belive Skin. So far so good with the clenser, scrub mask and overnight mask. The cleaner takes off my makeup pretty well too.
Bestie u better throw that scrub cleanser awaaaaay
Omg I'm so happy to see you finally get around the ELF brand! It's one of my most favourite cruelty free and inexpensive brand. Wish I could hear your thoughts on their gentle exfoliating gel. It's got things like licorice and so far so good but I'm wondering if it's OK to use on rosacea skin 🤔
Would love if you could make a video for a full low-maintenance skincare routine using affordable products!
I just started watching and learning from you and frankly, i feel overwhelmed😂
I am embarrassed to say i do not use any skin care whatsoever except for spf and i'm feeling lost😫
Cassandra this is so exciting 😍 I'm from England 🇬🇧 so Boots has always been here. But I'm really interested in the Frudia essences but they are not in drug stores here so il have to wait the 28 days for delivery but its worth it! 😉
Cassandra you are the best! and I love you and your videos so much... I watch every single one! Xxx
Love your videos. Been watching them for awhile. Tons of helpful info! But man, there is something so painful about watching somebody that thinks they're funny... when they are so evidently not.
Hi Cassandra Boots , is half drug store , half high end / luxury , its a very lovely pharmacy store, they also have an opticians , glasses different prices , here in the UK 🇬🇧 ,The staff are extremely helpful , its both a store and on line service . i love shopping there or before i used to before the virus hit us ,
The Hello Hydration Eye Cream is a fantastic value - I'm on my second jar. Sometimes I'll mix in samples of other eye creams/serums because it's so easy to use.
I'm obsessed with the E.L.F. Holy Hydration line. As you said, I actually use my hydro-gel moisturizer under my sleeping mask, but is not the E.L.F. one :( I wanna try it now. Loved this video
Oh my gosh! Your videos make me SMILE.. you’re funny & entertaining & relatable 💕💕💕💕 you’re getting me excited about the elf products not sure if I can find it in Canada … I’ll be on the lookout 👀
Oh this is making me so so excited!!!! We have Booths in Thailand and I HOPE they bring them in cause the Ordinary and The Inkylist are IMPOSSIBLE to find here.
I love how genuinely happy you are in every video!
ELF skincare QUICKLY became a favorite. I love their mini sets - lets you try out a lot from a line and they're great to travel with (and the jars I've been able to wash & reuse!!) they have sales so often and have great coupons if you're a part of the rewards program. the Super Clarify cleanser is the only cleanser I've ever notice make a difference & the Holy Hydration face cream feels so nice & soothing.
I just gotta say thank you Cassandra for helping me pass my exam on the integumentary system
soooo happy to see boots being discussed!! i’m in the u.k. and i’ve wanted to know peoples thoughts before buying :)
Yes ! Thank you I’m moving so I’m short in money compared to usual. And I have been stretching my sunscreen to make it last as long as I can and now I’m definitely going to try to Frudia sunscreen!
the elf cleansing balm is my fav!!! would love to hear your thoughts on it after giving it a try
Been using the sunscreen for a couple months now and I use it as a moisturizer too I love it. It’s amazing. 10/10 would recommend
Since I don’t buy my skincare and I’m on a budget I’ve been trying out the hydro boost body cream on my face for a few months and it’s comparable but it’s easy to get greasy. So I’m excited to try the elf one
I use it as well on my face. I love it! I can’t try the elf one bc fragrance ☹
@@juhnetmickerdy They have the fragrance free one, like squalane moisturizer if I'm not mistaken
Neutrogena just came out with a Hydro Boost Whipped Body Balm. It’s a lot lighter and doesn’t feel greasy. It is for very dry skin. If I were you I’d go with the ELF just because a lot of body creams can be very heavy on the face and cause those little white bumps. I got two bottles at Walgreens the other day because they were buy one get one 1/2 off. They’re $8.
No 7 has an AMAZING gel moisturizer that does NOT feel greasy on my oily dehydrated skin. I'm currently working on a hidden drugstore gem video for skincare under makeup and Elf and No 7 have amazing products!!!
I’m paying attention as I watch but also thinking “what do I have in my arsenal that I wish Cassandra could tell me was it a waste of money or a worth it..?🤔”. Guess I’ll keep watching videos & hope my products get reviewed 😌. Great video!
Thanks for trying out more affordable skin care. Really, really appreciate it. :)
OMG I need this in Mexico, thank you so much. I learned a lot from you (and I save a lot with your advice!).
This is going to save me SO MUCH MONEY!!!!
With the exception of the actives I'm using from The Ordinary, most of my other products are from elf. And yes, I use the eye cream under sunscreen and makeup to make sure I'm hydrated during the day. I did NOT know they had a sunscreen...I usually use a mineral tinted one, but I'm going to have to try this one! You are going to love the cleansing balm and they also have a Happy Hydration line that thas hemp seed oil in it...thicker and great for a sleeping mask...and no fragrance. They have a gel moisturizer with squalene that was great during the summer heat because it felt weightless on my skin. The only thing I didn't care for was their clarifying cleanser because I think it had lavender oil in it and irritated my skin. These were the first products I started using back in May when I began my skincare journey and I love them and their makeup!
I have been tested for skin allergies and I’m highly allergic to glycerin. So anything with moisture, hydration, you know it has glycerin and won’t be for me. I’m subjected to ointments and gels, it’s been very difficult to find proper skin care. Recently went to a dermatologist and told her the story, she recommended for me to use cerave… which glycerin is the second ingredient. Is that what every derm suggests to use… that’s a hell no for me so back to Cassandra.
Honestly I learn more from you in the last year and I’m so grateful I found you. You also recommended pyunkang yul skin care, which I really like and thank you for all the hard work that goes into this. Researching products takes forever.
Cassandra you make everything look wonderful
The Elf Holy Hydration cream is awesome. I slather that on at night over my actives, all over my face, neck, and around my eyes, and my skin looks smooth and pretty in the AM. I put it on again in the AM, over Vit C serum and under sunscreen. Love it! I see Covergirl has a new hyaluronic cream too, cruelty free. Haven’t tried that one yet but it looks good.
I had no idea Frudia was in cvs! So happy to know that! Now I gotta make a CVS run and check out out ASAP!
I love the holy hydration cleansing balm!! It melts beautifully, I don't wear make-up but it removes my Spf and water proof mascara without any issues and their prices 🤯!!!
Have a great day💞
We usually don't have American stuff in our drugstores. But today I found Frudia sheet masks on SALE. I didn't even know we had those! So I bought like 10 different masks feeling sooooo excited I can't even express LOL
Thank you for suggesting it, Cassandra! :)
I buy a tube of perscription strength retinol (tretinoin) for 200 dollars. Some might say that is way too expensive. However, this big tube lasts me at least a year if not 2. That's 8-16 dollars a month when I see lower strength drug store retinoids for 20 dollars a month. Remember to take into consideration how long the product lasts.
What about Differin?
@@sash8099 differin is a good product for acne but it actually the same price or even more (around 12 dollars for a month supply) as tretinoin and doesn't address wrinkles as well as tretinoin does.
@@rachmaninovwasemo2313 What brand and concentration of Tretinoin do you use? Can you use it under your eyes? I need something for that.
@Sa Sha
I have been using Tretinoin .05% for years. My dermatologist told me it’s perfectly fine to use under your eyes as long as your face is accustomed to it.
@@chrissiedunlap431 Thank you!
Oh I love the elf holy hydration cleansing balm, and the holy hydration toner as well as the supertone that is yellow.
Yes u r reviewing Boots line.. Yess. I almost bought all of eem so many times in the past few months.. Bt held myself back.. Like this is too good to be true..
I loooove the elf hydro-gel moisturizer! I wish the holy hydration sunscreen worked for me but I had pilling issues 😫😫
Love your videos. You are smart and funny. I'm really excited to try some of these products because I'm still waiting for my order from either stylevana or yesstyle, it's been that long I can't remember.
looking at the prices you showed i think the boots stuff might be cheaper over there than it is in store in the uk!!! I love their polygutamic acid!
I've watched several vids before but today - I finally hit that subscribe button! This is great info and she's excited and now I'm excited to try some of these products .... I was wondering if you could mention more products for older skin 40's I have normal to dry and aging signs are showing up - seems most of the recommended products are for oily skin or younger skin
Thank you

Really interested to see how the vitamin C/niacinamide do. I’m an EXTREMELY OILY daily makeup wearer and looking for my perfect vit C that plays well with my SPF and makeup
As a previous employee of Ulta, ELF was readlly available. I sent my gf a gift pack last year. The ELF line if skin care has become a staple for her. ❤
Been using to boots hyaluronic serum for bout 4 weeks now and love it. Definitely would like to know how the niacinimide works. They didn't have it in stock when I went so had to get something else x
Totally loving the Boots brand vitamin c !!🦋🦋🦋
Have you used the boots vitamin C mosutrising cream?
Your complexion looks really perfect in this video, Cassandra!
Thank you your amazing insight! Have you ever tried the Elf putty primer? It seems to do wonders for acne pron skin types
There's also the Superdrug lines in the UK. Don't know if you can get them in the US. But they have some great products in their skincare lines.
I recently tried Revolutions cleansing jelly and was very pleasantly surprised. It’ll never replace my holy grail Krave matcha hemp cleanser but it ain’t bad!
I love you. You crack me up with your attitude on skincare you are one of my favorite people
I LOVE LOVE ELF ..... yooooooo that holy hydration moisturizer is the bomb....... it’s like a jelly and it’s unscented. Bruh this stuff does miracles for me.
I bought a few of the Boots products based on your recommendation and my skin seriously loves me for it. My Drunk Elephant polypeptide has been binned. Thanks 😊

Two weeks ago I bought the Elf Holy Hydration SPF 30 face cream, and LOVE it. Most chemical sunscreens burn my eyes, this one does not. It makes my foundation look awesome. I have no problem buying the cheap stuff, if it works, and makes my skin look beautiful, I’m all for it!!! This ticks off all my boxes - protection, gorgeous result, cruelty free, cheap!
I want to try a Korean toner, or essence, so will have to check out CVS for that Frudia brand, maybe they have one??
As I was watching this video I realized that the Elf sunscreen I was using as a face lotion no wonder why every time I use this on my eyes burn and my other sun sunscreen piles with this LOL
I have bren using the Boots Ingredients Vitamin C for a few weeks (swapped from Tje Ordinary Ascorbyl Glucosode 8%) and am loving it. Lovely lightweight texture and not sticky
Have you used the Boots Vitamin C mosturising cream?
Elf has been great on my oily skin! Elf is a bit more expensive in the U.K. I saw these Boots products at the weekend and wondered about the quality as they seemed so cheap
I'm curious about the elf jelly cleanser. I've been eyeballing it in my pharmacy but I've so many cleansers to finish first🤣
BOOTS retinol did wonders for my skin. I love that I can find it in target!
OMG so glad to know that those elf products are Cassandra approved 🤩🤩 also, I've been trying the retinol plus serum from 3erum1ab and I would really love your thoughts on them. 🥰🥰🥰 I just LOVE your personality, you're such a breath of fresh air, ❤❤
I bought the Holy Hyrdation Fragrence Free moisturiser from e.l.f a little while ago and since then I've been super curious as to whether it would get the Cassandra Bankson seal of approval. Just found this video and am super pleased that she also loves it.
I love the ELF hello hydration eye cream (I know how u feel abt eye cream I'm 44💁🏻) & it feels so lux I'm so happy I tried it. It is if u look at the ingredients the exact same as the face moisturizer tho.
Im from the UK and love Boots its a pharmacy in the UK
I’m glad u tested boots skincare. I live in the uk so we don’t have sephora we have boots.
Cassandra I was just able to test out a new product from Hero Cosmetic and o think you’d like it! It’s there Rescue Balm + Red Correction. I’ve been using as tinted moisturizer + add light powder for natural day. It’s a red corrector
I have been a hardcore Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream Stan for a couple years now and then I was recommended the ELF Holy Hydration face cream and OH MY GOD!!! Was I taken aback on how damn good it is!!! I now use that every single day & I don’t know if I will ever repurchase the Tatcha again!!!! ELF really came in and did that!
The $68 Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream?
Cass!! You should try the NYX Bare With Me Priming SPF (spf 30)!! They're vegan and cruelty-free, and it's VERY comparable to the Black Girl Sunscreen. Highly recommend it!
Most seem to have fragrance though. I‘m on the certified organic no fragrance planet and all of this in European, never ever had acne and still your videos are so entertaining. I turned and learned ever since I developed my sensitivity to fragrance. So many people don‘t even turn and learn when it comes to food…
Im in Chile, and I tried ELF that I had to import and it was totally worthy. Specially the night cream is amazing.
I will have to try the elf skincare. I'm excited.
