Always appreciate your informative “should you back” videos! I’ll probably get the $169 pledge to have the new battlechest match my first one from the previous kickstarter and also get Missions. With respect to Deadpool, they have said that the Op will make the same deluxe version available at retail. But it’s pretty cheap in the bundle (compared to getting the three items separately), so the bundle makes sense to me.
Alex, I think something you'd need to add in the conversation is that the retail version of the X-men will not be tri-folded like everything has been up until this point, so I feel that would factor into holding its value as well
@@dadtier564 yupyup, they're changing it back to like a single board style for retail, it's speculated that it might be like the boards in the very first dice throne... Yea they are trifold, Either the legendary box would be twice the height or the boards and cards would have to be sized down to fit. Neither one of those can be true. Here's a video where it shows Wolverine, Storm and Psylocke with their trifold boards. ruclips.net/video/9NNiDNnvbm4/видео.html I am goign through the updates right now to find out what the heck you guys are talking about.
As someone who only has Marvel Dice Throne, Missions was a no-brainer. I got the New Gameplay pledge because I think the X-Men themed missions will be more fun with X-Men characters. As for the add-ons, I'm passing on the minis. I have a decent amount of Marvel United content so I'll be using those miniatures instead. Even then, for the price, I'd be willing to stick with the cardboard standees. I have the sleeves for Marvel DT so I'll be getting the new sleeves. I love the idea of the acrylic tokens but can't justify that price. I'm glad some acrylic for Missions was unlocked. I have dice trays so I'll probably pass on those. That new neoprene X-Men one sounds functionally nice but looks weird.
Thanks for sharing. I totally agree with your comments. Dice Throne is in my top ten games. Why? Mainly due to the fun factor. The synergy between the character building, dice mitigation, and card usage is really fun. So, I'm getting the $169 set and may sell Deadpool to help recoup costs. DT Adventures offered an okay campaign, but now that I've played it I don't care about playing the campaign again. To me, Missions looks to have more replay value. Should be fun within the X-Men universe.
I have 16 characters accross retail boxes for season 1, 2 and marvel. I do not need any more but missions is tempting to bring new life into all these characters.
if the character packs hit retail, they will definitely be on sale. a while back a certain brick n mortar chain had them all for half off (with the rest of their board games), and online retailers consistently have the 2-pack ones for under $20. so unless you reeeeally want the special edition box art and the promo cards, the character packs are (imo) not a good back, especially after shipping. if the missions end up like DTA, they will be available on the designer's website, but nowhere else; in which case, that's a safe back.
The new-gameplay bundle is SUPER reasonable. You get soooo much gameplay content for that cost. Missions is NOT going to retail, but it will be available from their website, but at an increased cost. The retail version of the X-men will have different packaging that is "fancy", including the folding player boards and the marbled dice. I will say, for the combo with all the minis and the acrylic tokens and the sleeves and everything... that IS a tougher sell. It's a lot of money, but you DO get a good deal still. It's just a lot of money, so you have to decide if you WANT all of those things or not. I think it's worth it IF you actually want it.
@@davidpeacock8276 you’re right. That was a typo on my part. The retail version won’t have the fancy upgrades, including the folding boards and marbled dice.
It's important to note that in an update they did clarify that the current plan is for the OP to offer the deluxe edition of Deadpool at retail...so I'm inclined to think it might not hold its value.
I don't think Missions interests me enough, and I certainly don't need the bling. I have 36hrs to decide if I'm in for Deadpool only (probably get the X-Men retail boxes eventually) or nothing at all.
Have they shown how different the retail version will look? I have a feeling they’ll do cost reductions on the product and the retail version will look worse.
Hello! Love these videos ... That said, I have Santa vs. Krampus only and Missions seems really cool (i.e. most interesting). Would you say X-Men & Missions or all the Marvel & Missions would likely make the most sense?? I wasn't super interested in Marvel versions at all, but Missions seems slightly odd to play with Season 1 and/or 2 (which I don't have anyway). I'd appreciate your thoughts if you're willing to give them! Thanks for all you do!!
If you only have Santa and don’t care for Marvel then I wouldn’t suggest Missions in KS. Wait for release, play someone else’s, which I’m sure will be out there, then if you actually like it despite it being Marvel then get retail; Fight the FOMO!
Thank you for responding and providing your thoughts! I don't not like Marvel... the other characters from Season 1&2 just appeal to me more than the Marvel characters.
There's one considerable point missing in this video. This opinion is based on someone who lives in the US, and therefore will have cheaper and more accessible options to the retail boxes and accessories once they're released. VAT+Shipping+shipping VAT can be quite expensive now, it will still be cheaper than buying later on via their website or FLGS (which will most likely don't have them, only the smaller packages and none of the accessories). So if you just want the gameplay and don't mind the deluxe boxes or accessories, you can wait for the paired heroes and Deadpool, but that's it. Don't expect Missions to be widely available unless it becomes an unprecedented success for Dice Throne, cause Adventures sure wasn't. Sure, moving the more expensive stuff is harder, but the lack of availability in certain places can help you get rid of it and not lose so much money if you're willing to wait for the right customer and you're part of marketplace groups in your region.
Alex, One thing that I think may not be clear from the video The Dice Throne Missions is not going to be available on retail, after the campaign it will only be on the Dice Throne store (and probably conversions where they have a booth)
Based on your previous video and the preposterous 169 to $600 price tag. This is a hard pass. I'll wait a year and pick up target or bn when they are on sale.
I just can’t get over the art. These characters visually look terrible compared to their comic counterparts. I think this art style worked better when it was for original characters that Roxley was creating, not decades long established characters. It takes me out of the experience massively.

What do you mean by trifolded? Is this for real? The trifold is amazing
@dadtier564 in an update talking about retail, they said that Xmen will not have the trifold boards.
Sucks they changed deadpool because of the dumb vote. Now we have to wait till august instead of getting this in april

Like it if they could do a missions style expansion for original DT
They do, it's called dice throne adventures

I read much earlier in the campaign that they said Missions is not coming to normal retailers, just sold in their store ....😅

Instant Mission + Deadpool back here!
All-in on both Dice Throne AND Witcher for me. It’s an expensive month for sure.
Haha again I just posted my ‘Review of Reviews’ this morning for this! You keep being one day too late!! (Or I’m one day too early!) haha

Ill get the new gameplay bundle and the figures.
I’m doing the $169 pledge. I’ve backed everything except for the original marvel dice throne and wish I would have backed it now.
Enjoy it!
My plan is to sell off my non-Marvel dice throne, and swap it for the Marvel stuff.

Totally agreed on that.
Just to clarify: if I pledge just 1$ now, do I get all those small bonus packs (those extra cards) upon upgrading in the pledge manager phase?
nope
Pretty sure yes according to the FAQ
Yes you do
So, guess I can lean back and sit on my decision for now as I pledged 1$ for now. Thanks

The Dice Throne Missions is not going to be available on retail, after the campaign it will only be on the Dice Throne store (and probably conversions where they have a booth)
My question is: won't ALL of it be available on their website in about a year or so?
Very possibly, but if Santa is anything to go by, being between print runs is a factor, plus the cost goes up.
Easy yes. Game looks amazing!!!
You should have mentioned that the retail Edition will not be compatible with the battle chest System and the character Boards will be diffrent.
Based on your previous video and the preposterous 169 to $600 price tag. This is a hard pass. I'll wait a year and pick up target or bn when they are on sale.
It is easier to set up than DTA so and easy back, for me.
Ill stick to King of a Tokyo for Yahtzee and get my marvel fix with Marvel Zombies / Marvel United and have to pass on this one.
Dice throne doesn't interest me, so this is an easy pass. Besides, DCeased is happening and I've got to save up for that. 😂
I wasn't surprised the clown version of deadpool was axed by popular vote.
The community knows Deadpool is a clown without dressing him up as one 😂
I'll be back on board when they are done shakin it for Marvel money.
Lol fair enough
Season Re-Rolled was $79, then Marvel was $89 now X-Men is $99. Don't really see the value at $100.
IP's make sense to cost more sadly, although I don't know why the jump from 89 to 99

Interesting, personally I love it but I respect subjective opinions.
Exactly. Why does rogue look like a horse?
That's a solid no from me, dog.
The art is just SO bad. Rogue looks like a horse.
no
Dice throne look pretty boring...
