      Deborah has been great, part of the team now and I love seeing these 4 at the table.

    "It's hard to really help each other when we're all rolling at once."
    When you draw a die manipulation card, announce it to your teammates and leave it face up in front of you, so everyone is aware it's available to them. ✊

    Fyi (and sorry if somebody said something already) but they did make a rule that if you'd inflict something that doesn't have an effect, you can choose to gain a momentum instead of afflicting.

    The first roll has "heal 3" on Wolverine. Don't forget that you can actually heal beyond starting health in most forms of Dice Throne. Typically, you can gain up to +10 from starting, so Wolverine should have had an additional 3 hp!

    I've heard that status effects such as Entangled, Infiltration, and Maybe even Dice Cube which interact with dice rolls give the player momentum instead since The minions/Boss only roll one time.

      @joelface 10 месяцев назад +2

      Not only that, but you can gain momentum instead of giving an enemy ANY status effect, even one that WOULD work.

      They mentioned it in the walk through of the mechanisms and then immediately forgot about it, which is not surprising given all the information and elements that make up the gameplay.

    For me and my family, Dice Throne is the best when its quick games of 1 V 1. Adventures and now Missions seem to drag out the experience and make it less likely to see table time. At least these new X-Men characters can still be played 1 V 1. Thanks for sharing!

      Keep in mind that they should be doing everything simultaneously. And they have players that don't seem fully comfortable with the rules. This will likely play much faster for veteran dice Throne players, even with kids. I play Adventures with my family and it does drag out and you have to wait for your turn I think this will be less of a problem for missions.

    Ock is Range defense as a way to defend from Range attacks.
    Yes, it's all adjacent, but if someone changed their attacks k to range, the melee defense wouldn't defend at all.
    So, Range defense covers both scenarios of attack

    1:37:45 Since the Paralyze couldn't really affect Doc Ock, she could have gained Momentum instead of applying it, right? 🤷‍♂
    Edit: Ditto for Iceman's Dice Cube and Wolverine's Alpha. 🤓

    • @Mattsmindmeld
      @Mattsmindmeld 3 месяца назад

      Yes that is correct, if your status effect doesn't do anything you can opt to gain momentum instead.

    At 1:39:56 Lincoln spent a momentum instead of a CP for Six It. Not sure if that plays into the game so far. Great video so far!

    This game seems awesome. This might seem a bit of a petty point but I feel like useless effects should translate into extra damage to encourage more usage of those effects/abilities.

    • @enotino5812
      @enotino5812 10 месяцев назад +5

      You are actually supposed to gain 1 momentum when inflicting those useless effects! Which is a great addition

    • @joelface
      @joelface 10 месяцев назад +3

      @enotino5812 is correct. You can actually gain a momentum instead of inflicting ANY status effect, even ones that AREN'T useless, and this is a very important part of building up your momentum so you can attack at range, defend at range, buy allies, and other effects from your momentum abilities. This is actually one of the best parts of Missions in general, but I think maybe it takes a little practice to get used to it.

    Just to clarify, as you play you level up in a sense, so the game just gets progressively easier? Wouldn’t you want it to get more challenging? Btw you all are so fun to watch.

    • @boardgamegeek
      @boardgamegeek  10 месяцев назад +3

      There are other villains you battle that are tougher to take down. I would think you need to improve your abilities to beat them. Doc Ock is the recommended villain to start with. Thanks for the note and for watching. -Lincoln

    • @joelface
      @joelface 10 месяцев назад +3

      Each mission comes with a difficulty rating, from 1 to 5. The level 5 missions are extremely tough and require you build up your Perk Sheet to a suitable level before taking them on. As well, there are ways to add difficulty onto easier missions to make them still fun and challenging even after you've built up your power. AND you can add that extra difficulty onto the harder missions too, if you're a glutton for punishment. Needless to say, there's an approach for everyone here. I also think as a house rule, if you're really struggling with the game, it would be okay to give yourself a few "free" perk points until you feel comfortable with the games base difficulty.

    The most offensive rolls were definitely Dave's for Doc Ock 😂

  • @msmilder25
    @msmilder25 10 месяцев назад +2

    There's hundreds of villains in the X-Men vault...and they chose Doc Oc as their nemesis in this game...a Spider-Man foe...that's very disappointing. It's fine they didn't use Magneto for the hundredth time, but why not Mojo? or Shadow King? or Apocalypse? Mister Sinister? or the Hellfire Club?

    • @F4R207

      It's a Marvel Dice Throne Missions, not a Marvel X-Men Dice Throne Missions, the Missions are generic to Marvel Dice Thrones, the X-Men Dice Thrones Characters are their own separate thing (but a part of their joint kickstarter).

    As an avid DT player, this is definitely NOT the first way you should learn DT. Even if you've played before, but it's been months or years, you shouldn't start with Missions. You really shouldn't start with team vs team either. 1v1 is the best way to learn. I sold all my DT stuff because i played it soooo much, then i skipped Marvel DT as well. I think i'm back in for this. Probably just going to back for Missions and then buy a 4 pack of the x-men i want (rogue/gambit/scott/jean) and then possibly get season 1 again. I think season 2 was a great big meh in general.

    • @joelface
      @joelface 10 месяцев назад +1

      I definitely agree. In fact, I'd say even if you're comfortable with Dice Throne, it's worth playing a few games of 1v1 with the particular HERO you're planning to play Missions with. It's a LOT of info to take in all at once, to be playing a hero for the first time as well as the co-op expansion with is really an entire extra game on top. It's REALLY not hard to learn Missions once you've got your character completely figured out.. but doing both at once would be tricky even for me.
