So excited for this video! What a great concept. I feel like it almost breaks it down to some of those pokemon clone games where types don't really matter, just stats because the games aren't well developed. But this has the added benefit of the status moves and such. Excited to see how this turns out
I am so hyped to see this. Having no type is an incredible variable that I have never considered, and it's really thought-provoking what Pokémon could be amazing, were it not for their type in gen 2.
Hey! It's available at www.trainersquidgy.com - it's part of the Nuzlocke Patch! Just say 'yes' to restricting your Type catches and it'll be one of the options.
I may have missed it. What was the purpose of rain dance with surf being typeless? I assume you coded it to keep the thunder accuracy and for sunny day solar beam 1 turn.
Ooh, i saw typeless in the patch and wondered if we'd get a video on it. At least chikorita won't suck as hard Could also be Pokémon Crystal: Lance Edition where everyone lies about what Pokémon type they're using At 12:14 it might be better to skip your route 33 encounter until after you've gotten headbutt. That said jumpluff is fast with access to good support moves so hoppip isn't a bad encounter 1:15:07 talk about good luck, 20% to miss hydro pump and 10% hyper beam miss 😮
Yes! The moves keep their types to preserve Physical and Special attack - the only difference is that every move is calculated to do neutral damage. :)
I’m the best team member obviously btw. ❤
I am
Thanks Oddish!

Naming your own Miltank Whitney was diabolical, lmao.
I love you keep finding ways to keep Crystal so much fun! Great run!
19:34 marge messed with the cow and got the ow

This is a very cool idea and looking forward to working through it after work.
So I've been watching you for like a month and I've qui kly came to love this channel. Is there any way we can also play this emulation?
He usually puts a patch up on his website within 24-48 hours. I'd look out for that.

I think I would like to try this typeless challenge
Wow that Lance fight was some fight!! It is never that difficult in any run but this one! Now Red was surprisingly not difficult!
Tangrowth Gen 1 Backport
TYPELESS RUN ???? This seems really cool
Neat run I loved it

The moves still retain their types, so Rain Dance still boosts Surf!

The whole time, I was thinking towards the type advantages. Even though it was typeless. I'm too used to the type charts.
It's so ingrained, isn't it? I had to keep reminding myself that we're going for pure move strategy in this one!
@@Squidgy Sure was. I hope your voice gets better soon.
Do the moves keep their types?
Was wondering how this works with using special or physical attack.
Yes! The moves keep their types to preserve Physical and Special attack - the only difference is that every move is calculated to do neutral damage. :)
@Squidgy cool. Would be interesting to see this with abilities but I jmagine that's a difficult set up .
Abilities would add an extra layer of complexity, but it's theoretically possible!
I don't think Clair healed the Kingdra because she saw a kill with Hyper Beam.
About that even with Chikorita as TYPELESS its still going to be pure CRAP.
Originally Pokémon didn’t have types. They were added in later in the game. That was in gen 1
Get a muk and you won't have any problems. Make everything poisoned and have high defense
Would love this on yellow as well
