Curious as to why you think the Twins homeworld has been destroyed?
Chapter 1: Act IV-A Soul Set Apart
      @ Meet 'twin'
Traveler: Come with me, 'twin'! Let's go home!
      or
Traveler: You can tell me all this later. Let's go home!
I read that as their homeworld/civilization still existing and that they have the power to return and are simply choosing not to until they finish their business on current world.
In addition, both twins display in dialogue, contemplation and secret/knowledge keeping as tactics, as well as possesing special sight. That is rushing headlong face first into the attacks of archons and gods, seems counter their character, unless they are invincible or able to infinitely respawn at some sort of elemental/magical/aetheric node and know it; as cannon lore and not just game mechanics.

I think Lumine definitely journey after the cataclysm for this very small detail: in the opening cutscene before we chose which twins, Lumine is always the one to ask the Unknown God who she is. If Lumine had reached the end of her journey by that time, she would have known the truth of the world, and the identity of the unknown god.

  • @myrtle8347
    @myrtle8347 2 года назад +499

I remember one of Dain’s lines when talking to the Traveler near Wolvendom. It sounded contradictory to the Traveler because Dain holds the archons in a bitter light yet he doesn’t want to commit the same mistakes his forbearers did. Could that be connected as to why Lumine see him as an enemy as well? I’m also kinda wondering since Lumine and Aether has their original powers very different from the elements of Teyvat, which is like them having otherworldly powers, I assume that Lumine may or may have not depended on the elements to gain her power as she never lost them in the first place other than being sealed away by the Sustainer while we see clearly in the beginning cutscenes Aether’s powers look like it had been sealed into the void and he states that in his opening line. I may be wrong but getting the elements from the statue of the seven is kinda like asking guidance from the Archons which Lumine wouldn’t want anything to do with due to her journey in Teyvat and her connections to Khaenriah. Venti would have noticed it as he did with the Traveler too.
Oh on a last note I remembered the beta (maybe the CBT) opening scene for Genshin which is actually quite darker because despite our Twin being taken from us, we were plunged into a series of nightmares throughout the duration of our slumber (might not be exactly right as how I remembered) but it kinda goes on to show how both twins suffered quite a lot by being separated from each other. One had to witness the fall of a nation they could call “home” while the other had to endure the loneliness of losing their only kin. QwQ sad...

Personally I can never believe that the abyss sibling would go on an entire journey themselves and just leave their twin laying in some ditch. Especially because it seems the twins can wake each other up, how else could the abyss sibling grab the traveler and tell them "we need to leave."
I am of the opinion that the abyss sibling woke up and went off to see what was around and found khaenri'ah. She walked around and experienced the people and left to go back for the traveler. Only to see the fall happen from a distance which gives us the clip of them running and stumbling over to the cliff where we can see the destruction the sustainer is dishing out.
Seeing this level of godly destruction she decides they need to leave which leads to the sustainer blacking the way and capturing the twins.
From there the abyss sibling does their journey with dain and decides to join the abyss. On dainsleif perhaps he betrayed khaenri'ah in some way which has lead to the hatred that the abyss sibling has for them. The betrayal could be that he exposed the goings and goals of khaenri'ah

Wait, wait- I think i must have either gotten the time line wrong, or I’m just not understanding your comment.
So when the twins were leaving Teyvat, was it because they were fleeing something? Like the cataclysm? Or?
I always assumed that the twins were put to sleep sometime before the cataclysm. Doesn’t need to be long before, but just before shit really went down. I can’t recall if I remember “we were fleeing this world” being said, but seeing as no such thing is mentioned in the opening cutscenes I’ll assume not. Because of this, i was under the impression that the twins were just traveling worlds. Cause that’s what they do apparently. As they tried to leave, they’re stopped by an unknown god- we know this part.
THEN when they’re separated, Lumine (or the abyss twin) wakes first w/more memory intact unlike our current twin; unable to find Aether (ig you can link this to the lore of Starfall lake? It did say _a_ star fell there, if I remember correctly. So one twin ig).
She goes on her travels to regain her power (if she lost them to begin with, i could rant about this as well) and find her brother, becomes acquainted with Teyvat and its ppl (much like Aether now), gets entangled w/ Khaenri’ah, and then war and rebellion breaks out. She witnesses the fall of Khaenri’ah, is there before and after the cataclysm, and Aether is still sleeping beauty. After these events she may have eventually became the Abyss Order’s (after their forming) “princess”. 500 years or whatever later, Aether finally wakes up after being kept in a slumber for unknown reasons.
This was what i was getting, but idk if that’s what you were getting(?)
Please, if anyone sees this, feel free to correct or inform me of missing information😔

I think It makes more sense for her to awake and knows Kaenriah than her traveling and learning about the reason of Cataclysm.
In we will be reunited, we learn that she was awake before Aether (we don't know how long) and that she woke up Aether so they can escape.
Also during the intro cutscene, the Sustainer of heavenly principle says "the arrogation of mankind ends know", while attacking them and more especially why is she watching Lumine this way? It's clear by her actions that she wants to ends Lumine while the only thing she did to Aether was to seal him back in Teyvat. I don't think that they were attacked simply for being foreigners coming into Teyvat, it's coincide literally at the same time the war happened, it's not a coincidence. What we see when Ather talks to Paimon in the intro is about what he saws, from his side of view. He only saw a glimpse of Teyvat when it was good, then slept once they arrived in this world, and woke up again to see that there was a war.
Also from the twins twitter intro cards: "Your motherland was doomed; palaces and cities fallen into dust. You should have been the person who owned and embraced the world. But, the last descendants of the extinct nation, please don't grief over these past moments"
"As long as your honorable purity and compassion remains unchanged, there will still be best partners to travel with you across the new world that all belongs to you"
"Welcome to the new World" - K.K
By these cards, maybe the twins are actually royalty in their own world, so maybe, they don't call her princess as a title she gains from Kaeriah/Abyss, but as a princess from another land.

A guess regarding why Dain is considered a traitor by the Abyss: he may have learned that his country was on the verge of causing a different, larger-scale cataclysm, and resolved to sacrifice his own people in order to spare the rest of the world by tipping off Celestia (or something similar). This seems to be in accordance with his cynical nature and the fact he seems to imply "the gods are bad, but the Abyss is worse". It resulted in hellish devastation that no witness (much less victim) would be able to forgive, even if they knew doing nothing would have resulted in a worse outcome for the world itself. The Abyss sibling would believe that "this was overkill" and "things could have been handled differently", and blame Celestia and Dain for the *means* rather than the *end*.
From a narrative standpoint, having factions share a common goal but advocate for opposite methods to reach it is a great way to generate conflict without falling into a "black or white" theme. It also allows for more plot twists as the (actually good) objective can be revealed much later than the (visibly evil) means.
Another possibility would be that he ran away from the fight after realising Celestia couldn't be fought against, but this idea doesn't explain why he'd actively fight the Abyss nowadays. He also didn't strike me as someone who would shirk his responsibilities for his own convenience. Finally, he'd be called a coward rather than a traitor.
I think we can also assume with confidence that he didn't betray his country for personal gain; otherwise, he wouldn't be in the position he's in, doing the things he's doing. He'd be enjoying the fruits of his betrayal, or hiding in a corner, not risking his life fighting something that wouldn't concern him at that point.

I think Lumine's and Aether's meteor landed on two seperate locations because
    1. If they were together in Khenriah traveler would have more information on Khenriah
    2. According to traveler he woke up almost right before the the cataclysm and they fled immediately after
    And
I think Lumine's journey would've been to find traveler instead for power, which would also explain her disappointment and hatrate towards Dain as she would've seen his strength and character before leaving teyvat 1st time
Her journey with Dain post cataclysm to find the truth doesn't make sense as only Lumine wasn't in Khenriah Dain was still there and whatever he did was during the destruction.
Also Kaeya might not have all the intel but I'm sure he has some/good enough info on the abyss as during the stormterror fight he stayed in the city and chatted with the abyss people who infiltrated Mond, he never says he fought them for the info or took care of them, just that he talked with them, not to mention he was the only told us about the abyss princess in the first place. I think he knows more then he's letting on
Also the old Mond ruins stayed mostly the same when Dain when Dain traveled there because Dvalin made its best there after Dvalin was curled most likely between 6 months before traveler's arrival as we know Varka would've left with a army at that moment making Mond's defense weak Also it doesn't make sense for Varka to leave mid crisis
When asked about his traveling companion Dain says "they don't travel anymore because they're sick" could imply two things
1, Last he saw Lumine was when she had lost all her power whi h would imply that they didn't travel teyvat post cataclysm
    2. During the cataclysm Lumine might have caught some kinda disease or a curse of some sort
As for her recent appearance as the princess could be due to the fact that she was travelling alone and not only teyvat but she might have travelled through the Dark Sea as well and when she returned she had regain all of her powers
This isn't related to the video but recently I came across an NPC in Guili plains area on a watch tower who says not too long ago he saw someone with a similar Silhouette to the traveler

And also, the story of the heir in the battle pass cutscene might be the twins journey.

i really hope you see this cause the fact that khaenri’ah is in “the dark sea” and the abyss is in monstadt cause yk how wind barriers are protecting something inside it, and once you get to the thing inside it disappears, after defeating stormterror the wind barrier around his lair never disappeared, and it shows that the destruction of khaenri’ah was around there, what if the thing its protecting is the ruins of khaenri’ah , since we know inazuma has an underground area (enkonomiya) and liyue also has one (chasm) it was never revealed of whats truly under stormterrors lair since if we try to plunge down it tp us back, and the wind barriers are still around, so my theory is that khaenri’ah is under stormterrors lair and the thing the wind barriers are protecting are the ruins of khaenri’ah, we also see that the corrupted statue was venti chained upside down, which could say that the abyss might not be where we think it is, if venti hadnt done anything to them why would they choose his statue, and why was it named ‘old monstadt’, what if old monstadt is another name for khaenri’ah

I think the Abyss Sibling waking up a good 50-100 years or so before the Traveler would make sense. Alice bombed Old Mondstat because she thought it didn't look enough like actual ruins, so for Dainslief to say it hasn't changed last time he came suggests that they did visit quite recently. Buuut I'm not confident about the timeline of Alice's desecration of an ancient city though... was it during Varka's time as Grand Master or before?
50-100 years is also long enough for anyone who met Lumine and Dain on their travels to either forget about them or pass away. If she did meet the Archons on her journey, they would still not know where she is especially since she has a negative opinion on them so she would not keep in touch. Just spy on them as you would any enemy.
If the Abyss Sibling was an honored guest in Khaenri'ah, they would obviously come out with a very biased view of the 'truth'. Specifically seeking out more reasons to hate the Archons rather than seek to understand why they did what they did. Especially with Dainslief simply enforcing that "Gods are Bad." mentality.
Ah Okay now I get why the Abyss Sibling is extra pissed off with Dainslief. He agrees with a lot of their beliefs but has chosen a path that is detrimental/betrays those beliefs. Friends who had similar beliefs but end up taking different paths.
Still... I wonder if the Abyss Sibling is okay with doing to the Seven nations what Celestia did to Khaenri'ah? Are they really going to be okay hurting innocent civilians who has no say in where they were born? Or is their hatred so deep that anyone who sides with Celestia is an enemy to be punished? I have the feeling that Abyssal corruption is feeding into the Abyss sibling's negative emotions and amplifying it. Heck Abyssal corruption may have amplified the resentment within everyone in the Abyss Order. Both Celestia and the Abyss are both being shown to not be good for mankind and Teyvat over all, so its funny how the Fatui are the lesser evil in this case. Their the idiots because their fighting heaven and hell at the same time but to be fair someone has to or they'll all get deleted just cuz the seven nations got upgraded in the wrong stat so Celestia does a reset to try again. While the abyss just wants other people to suffer as they have like a crab.

This is my point of view:
Our sibling who witnessed the fall (and maybe the reason) of Khaenriah alongside us ( because the Traveler has memories of the cataclysm), told us that we should leave but encounters the Sustainer. When the Traveler first woke up in Teyvat, it is indicated they have traveled around for several months before encountering Mondstadt. This could mean that both the twins woke up at the same time but in different places.
In the duration of those few months, our sibling could have been establishing their position in the Abyss as Prince/Princess. But why? I first thought that our sibling had initially wanted to leave Khaenriah when it first fell, not wanting to go against the gods the same way Dainsleif wanted. My thoughts are that between the duration of when we were captured by the Sustainer, and then the corruption of Dvalin, our sibling's mindset was changed and made the decision to join the Abyss and go against the gods.
"-show me that you are worthier than I to rescue her."
This could mean our sibling was corrupted or perhaps deluded. I find a lot of the knowledge we found out to have very big gaps, and are sometimes contradictory.
As for when Dainsleif was travelling with our sibling, I'd like to think they travelled across all of Teyvat including Khaenriah and departed with each other after the cataclysm.
I'd put more but I can't think of anything else at the moment. :P

Thinking about immortality , it doesn't feel like a curse that you would do to a person you hate the most . Assuming celestia was the person that "cursed" Dain with this . Maybe Dain exposed khaenriah to celestia but only the higher ups . Dain seems to not hate celestia but doesn't like them too . I feel like he blames himself/celestia and khaenriah in the cataclysm . He sees everyone as the guilty perhaps . He feels anger to his homeland for making innocent civilians get into a war for their greed . He is angry to himself because of his mistakes and not being able solve the problem differently . He is angry at Celestia for destroying innocent lives as well as guilty ones . This cataclysm is more of political issues than actual hate towards both parts in my theory . İt has so much plot holes but since we don't know about anything of dainsleif personality . My guess isnt as valid as rock .

Oh yes. I heartily believe Dainsleif did a whole bunch more than just not being there for his people. Whatever he did he deserves his curse, though I am not sure he is really even cursed. That may have been something he told Lumine to try to gain her favor. He seems to know Keaya and the Jester all one-time residents of Kanriea. Also what is up with the Jester living with the traveler after they fell to Trevatt? I agree with you about the twins and those residents of Celestial being from other planets. And Celestial, wanting to take the travelors out, by sending the heavenly principles after them.

there's another thing which is very confusing, the primordial one came to Teyvat and planted the seed of humanity, and then several (hundred, questionable) years later the second throne, Celestia came to this world and defeated the primordial one and also started human civilization with the help of archons, they both had a similar intention yet the second throne had to beat the first one to claim the land.. don't understand wtf is happening here, if they had same goal then why didn't Celestia let the primordial god to rule.

    Just Brilliant, nice work Aster.
    [Edit]
Just wanted to add some personal commentary and opinions. There's been a few things bothering me as of late regarding the way ancient humans are portrayed in Genshin Impact. Has anyone else noticed the trend as well? Almost all stories of the ancient civilizations of humans are about human corruption, let me list some examples:
    1) Mondstadt regarding the nobility and how they used their power to enslave the people.
    2) The civilization that sacrificed people to the Thunderbird.
    3) Enkanomiya and the nobles use of the Sun Children as well as the diabolical practices of binding and severing the very souls of certain individuals like in the case of Aberaxus.
I could also go into detail about the various wars fought across Tehvat but they could be considered to be goaded by the God's and as such don't fit the analysis of studying just human nature.
What bothers me is the implied suggestion that without the fear of something more powerful humans have fallen into states of continual corruption victimizing those with less power and ambition. This seems to imply that perhaps without the guidance, no matter how cruel, of Celestia that Tehvat was already doomed in various human Dystopias. Even the Cataclysm could be seen in a similar fashion as the Great Flood necessary to purify the evils spread by mankind or perhaps the impact of a meteorite on a world so bent on internal strife that it was ill equipped to survive such a catastrophe.
This is very much different from the world of Tehvat we see now. Mondstadt is the city of Freedom, Liyue is a land that has chosen for its people to take responsibility for their own fate come what may and Inazuma a nation that's decided that unjust proclamations be they divine or mortal be they unjust they will be met by resistance. This is so much different from the civilizations of Old Tehvat one must wonder if perhaps this reformation isn't due entirely to Celestia's meddling. Bearing what sins they may the world now appears quite different.
What are your opinions? Do you think their was a purpose to Celestia's calamities or were they simply taking power onto themselves? Are the sins of the past the cost of war during a time of corruption or is the world once again heading headfirst towards its own fated destruction?

For the looks I think it would be Mond’s SOT7 (max level) holding the Field Tiller Eye. Then the “limbs” of Osial would be removed FROM Osial to make the hands. The stand that makes the SOT7 stand upright then got replaced by the limbless corpse of Osial himself. The center of Osial that holds the Overlord together is contained within the Statue’s platform ring. Osial’s corpse became the Statue’s NEW stand base. As for being mechanized, the Statue will be modded with a Ruin Guard-themed robe for the idol of the Statue, Osial’s corpse turns into something like the BOTW Guardian’s legs, and the face of the idol gets replaced by a Ruin Guard face.

if i remember correctly aether said that he and lumine witnessed the destruction of kanreah and when they tried to leave they met the unknown god...so it's definitely after the cataclysm lumine's journey began

Maybe lumine getting her powers back or possibly having her powers corrupted and turned purple by the abyss is the very thing that woke aether up. That’s probably the time when she was elected princess which is why kaeya says there is a NEW princess.

Old mondstadt would of looked like that after the Archon War not the cataclysm after Decarabian would of been taken down, because directly after that Barbados takes the people to establish the new mondstadt, and it would of been somewhere between after the Archon War if not directly after when Dvalin would of made it his lair because after all, everyone else screwed off to recreate Mondstadt where it is located now.

I have very important questions that I need answers to.
Why is the traveler's sibling able to use their power but that traveler can't?
Did the "Unknown God" seal only 1 of the 2 siblings' power or did the traveler's sibling get theirs back somehow?

I saw somewhere that it might be perhaps because the traveler 'droped' their swort during the cut scene while the sibling kept it.
      I don't know tho

Just my thought. It could end up even more catastrophic than it already is. Lumine’s/Aether’s journey could really be all for nothing. The buildup and excitement only to end in up with doom of Teyvat itself and then as well. Yet as of now,it’s just a thought to consider all possibilities.

Is there any hints about The Travelers being summoned to this Realm? IDK why but in my head I just think they were called while they were kind of idly traveling.
Like, right now, I'm working on the idea that the forms that the Twins are in now are because of Teyvat. These humanoid forms are not their original bodies and I doubt they were literal Stars.

i still think paimon and dain come from the same place since they have basically the same role in each siblings lives… they keep saying and dropping hints that maybe paimon shouldn’t be trusted and maybe she’ll do something the same way dain did to our sibling. it can be something like, along the way we start disagreeing in our journey and stuff like that not necessarily having to fight her but yeah it can be something like that that makes us enemies 😕

Another thing I find interesting is the gods Venti, Zhongli and The Radon Shogun all give up their Knossos which is their connection with Celestia. Perhaps distancing themselves from the gods in Celestia. Not only do they know much more than any is saying(about Lumine and Aether) but are positioning themselves to work with anyone other than Celestia.

I think the reason why the Traveler phases through the portal is 1 of 2, one is unlikely, and the other one makes sense.
    1. Only people of Khaenri'ah can go through the portal, which explains Dain going through.
    2. Only people who are NOT decenders can go through the portal. But then could Paimon go through?
Both of these support the idea of the abyss sibling not being listed as a decender. Who knows, it's just a couple of thoughts.

If the travellers have a special gift to somewhat get others to just trust them, to the point of even agreeing to travel alongside them if they have an important job/role, that might be Dain's issue. There is a reason why he does voiceover for new characters... our new "companions". And at the end, he always makes a remark on those characters that also has a meaning for himself, mostly negative.
I believe Dain travelled with the lost sibling and that was why he couldn't do any defending. Going back to one of his iconic lines: "Dain, what is that strand of blonde hair to you? Someone you must kill? Or the object of your penitence?". That strand of blonde hair could be his own hair, him asking himself what it means to him that he is from Khaen'reah, but the line after just makes it clear he means someone else. Not only that, but he asks if they're the object of his penitence or not... He is conflicted on the issue, probably due to the fact that he knows it's because of their "power" that he went on a journey with them, but at the same time he was the one who was influenced and could have simply said no.

Imagine if the Destiny which Lumine referenced to war against to is the or at least a bubble universe variation of Schicksal organisation in Honkaiverse (Considering Schicksal is a German word literally means "Destiny" or "Fate" of all words lol), although they're on literally Celestial or Cosmic level to tamper with Imaginary Tree and Sea of Quanta in the grand scheme of Mihoyoverse

I think the place they started was khanreiah. Because it was before the cataclysm, when they were trying to leave, and the. Lumine woke up before aether. She traveled etc, and found out the truth of the world. The cataclysm happened here bcz it’s not on teyvat land and that’s not teyvat land

    10:50 theory incoming (2.6 spoiler)
    -
the new enemy "black serpent knight: windcutter" has a description that says the "twilight sword" was one of them and who served the royal family of a kingdom that later lost all it's glory.
from the battlepass lore we see there were two crowned heir of the throne (a princess and her brother), the sister was corrupted by what looked like a black serpent dripping venom on the genesis pearl which was what the princess was after.
since dain is possibly a black serpent knight with the use of these evidences, what if the knights had betrayed their kingdom and corrupted their princess? maybe this was the reason why lumine was angry at dain?

  • @Doraisacat
    @Doraisacat 2 года назад

I'm pretty sure Venti awoke around the same time as Aether, so I don't think Lumine met him, and I don't think she met Ei, since Lumine's able to wield multiple elements as well. But then again I may be wrong, since in the Bough Keeper quest, Dainsleif knows who Venti is. Maybe he woke up sometime during the Abyss sibling's quest, too?

  • @Jil1807

I really want to know Dainsleif's and Lumine's relationships. Why does she says that Dainsleif betrayed their county? Of course he can't protect the land along? That's not possible.
