I used the key this summer and because it was only a little more than internet alone, it was worth it! Next summer, I have already purchased the key for my next cruise because it was only $2 per person per day more than the getting internet alone. Definitely worth the small difference just for the welcome lunch and farewell breakfast.
You didn't mention the process you used for dropping off your checked baggage, specifically do you know how early they will accept checked luggage (hour before, more?).
@@keeshnyc It was great for priority boarding & quick debarkation. I didn't utilize the on-board activities too much, just enjoyed lounging in the sun. I'll be going on Oasis in March 2024 so I'll be purchasing it again.
Definitely worth it. Leasure embarkation w lunch and breakfast on disembarkation. Includes internet. Even w teen G’kids that includes one device internet. I agree w you. Worth it.
I wonder if it is even available for your cruise? It was pretty obvious on the app when I ordered mine. Is there anyway you could try to look at your cruise on a computer? If so, the key should be here listed in the row of options across the top of the screen.
Hello! We have a cruise booked next month and we bought the key. Do you know if we were supposed to get some sort of email or information sent to us about the key and how to use it during our specific cruise? We haven’t heard anything yet. But we checked in and can see the little key symbol on our seapass :)
I'm considering getting The Key for my first RC cruise, and I think the way you framed it at the end seems like the critical point: It comes with the WiFi package included. Anyone leaning towards getting the WiFi package anyway needs to factor in those savings. That's like 65-75% of the cost of the Key by itself, and you may well already planning to pay it. Now you're only talking about $7-10 a day (per person) for the rest of the perks, and it's a lot easier to find that value in the various other perks. A Chops Grille lunch costs, what, $20? That's 2 days worth of the remaining price of The Key right there. Having a quick and early boarding time? A lot of people would gladly slip someone a $20 just for that option alone, rather than waiting in a big line. There's another 2 days.
That’s exactly how I felt. That said, someone commented that the cost could get a little prohibitive if you’ve got a family of 4 or 5 going, but when it’s just me or just Melissa and I, it’s definitely worth it
Just wanted to weigh in on this. Came back from a cruise 3 days ago with RC and had also bought The Key. I would agree with everything you mentioned, however, half of the benefits I never actually got to enjoy due to the time restrictions which are very well hidden. For example the Chops Grille welcome lunch, I arrived around 1pm and the restaurant was already closed and was told that I had missed it (the boat was set to sail at 6pm). So unfortunately I missed this. Also priority boarding and check-in... again this had a cut off time of 12pm. I arrived at 1pm and all signs of The Key had been taken down. So If you're not arriving in the morning, you won't enjoy this benefit either. I will just state that even without this benefit we got through in under 10 minutes... so there was no need for priority boarding. Another benefit was VIP seating to RC shows in the evening. Multiple times I turned up 45 mintes before and had asked for the VIP seating... I was just told to sit anywhere I wanted and that there was no VIP seating... in both of the theatres. So sadly I did not see anything from this either. Priority tendering was actually worth it for places like Santorini. They wait times to get off the boat where quite extreme. We arrived around 1pm and was in Santorini port by 1:15pm. So this was actually worth it as I had heard from others that they didn't get off until 2-2:30pm. Private hours for on board activities such as the flow rider and rock climbing. The times where quite ridiculous and for the flow rider the times where given on a port day where I was not on the boat. I can't say for certain as these time windows may change, but unfortunately saw no real benefit here either. The only benefit worth having was the internet package and at the time of purchasing The Key at 20% off, the internet package had a 25% off. So in hindsight I wish I had just gone with the internet package. Priority disembarkment again was not useful to us either as we were told that we had to disembark the ship at 6:45am to make it in time for our plane home. I purchased transfer though RC to and from the airport and that also had cut off times. The last bus to the airport was 10:30, so we just decided to leave at the time suggested. Now I'm not saying it's completely worthless, but the only time I would consider getting The Key would be where you arrived a day before the cruise and boarded the ship in the morning and if you had a late flight or if you were staying a night off the ship to really enjoy these benefits. Everyone will have mixed views but this was a summary of my experience. I would say in cases where you're traveling to and from the ship on the same days as your flights, I'd say you're best just purchasing the internet package or just buying The Key at the 25%-30% off range.
@@mattrowlands6821 I think that is a main factor for people are the timing of everything; living in the state with the ports, Florida, my spouse and i purchased the Key as we were going to get the internet pack. I really didn't care if I had internet, but with the extra perks that we will be able to take advantage of we thought it was worth it to get the Key. We live about an hour away from Port Canaveral so getting to the ship takes no time for us. Our cruise is in April 2024. We are excited, it will be my first (age 54 now, 55 during the cruise).
So I can't get a full answer here. We have 3 people in our family that would pay for the Key. Do each of us get internet or is it just one device for the group? Meaning we would have log off one to go another device. I mean we are paying for The Key so do we all get internet one device each?
You would still need a reservation, but they hold seats aside for people with The Key. I can’t say that there would be any of those seats left, but it is possible. Many of the shows were sold out on our last cruise, but there were usually empty seats in the reserved sections. Just be sure to get to the venue more than 15 minutes before, or they will release the reserved seats

It definitely depends on how many people are in your cabin and what the pricing is for that specific cruise.
I loved it.
Thanks for the review helped alot.

I’m not really sure. We just dropped off our luggage when we arrived at our checkin time.
Great rundown of everything. Just purchased the key for my cruise in June. Aloha
How was the Key on your cruise in June?

Do they have a child's menu at lunch? My granddaughter would not eat anything on that menu
That is a great question. Unfortunately, I never looked.
I’ll try to keep that sort of thing in mind for the future.

Quantum is asking for 72 dollars a day per person, is that the price? Thanks.
I don’t remember what I paid, but it wasn’t that much.
Great video!
Thank you. Glad you liked it
Hi! Wondering if you could help advise where/hot to purchase The Key? I don’t see it on the app, not sure why 😵💫

I was not able to purchase it on the app. I had to login to my account on a laptop and use the website. I am not sure why.

I got an email about 2 weeks before the sail date with a reminder of what was included, and instructions for embarkation day

As I understand it, each person gets internet for one device.
Did your use/purchase of the Key waive room service charges as well?
I believe it used to, but I don't believe it does anymore
New subscriber here. We haven't cruised with Royal Caribbean but we were wondering if the Key was worth the price. Thanks for sharing.
You’re very welcome. Hope it helped
Love the poster in the background about looking for our cabin. So true! Lol
@@llkristyll it was a fun poster for our cruise!
Thank you so much! Family of 5 - do I need to buy 5 Keys?
I believe you do, but I’ve only done it solo
$48 per day is what it shows for our upcoming cruise.
why in the hell is the key $50 a day on the 3 day Allure cruise...that is insane
looking at other point of view on The Key
What do you mean?
