The elephant in the room for me is what financial pro allowed her to drain an emergency fund?
@@AnonoMoosely tortoise fund? Can I buy the hare find?
If she put her emergency fund into stocks in April 2020 she probably made a big return since then.
@@AnonoMoosely drop the drama HATER lol get off his channel if you hate so much lol
@@socketyellow3 Jack rabbit fund! It goes quick!
@@scottwible1532 yea if she put it into amazon stock 20 years ago she's doing fine huh what a dumb comment
“If you don’t like debt free, you can always get back into debt”
-Dave Ramsey
Yes, you can. Smart people don't. We've been debt-free for a long time.
Lol that's true! To be fair though he never said going back into debt was a good idea.
This caller’s story is a great example of motivation vs discipline. She was motivated to pay off her debt to get her debt free scream, but she wasn’t disciplined to keep her finances in check when she made her goal & then moved to California. Thankfully for her she realizes she made a mistake before it got really bad & she can get back to fixing her finances.
You're exactly right about motivation/discipline!
This call was a complete waste of time. The lady already got out of debt, has a good income, and wants to know about a 10k car loan? Completely pointless.
If this girl could make 50 bucks for every time she says "like" she'd be out of debt in no time
🤣🤣🤣
She definitely absorbed the Valley Girl persona in San Diego.
Finally. The comment I was looking for!
Sounds like my darling darling daughter! Every time she says ‘ya know?’ I say No, I don’t !
@@alicelindborg5096 Um no
Something is way off here. Paid off $47K in debt in a year, but can’t tackle $14K. She also didn’t mention on the front end that she moved across the country. Stop living for your new friends’ approval, Bea. You can do this, but you have to change this new lifestyle
I have been to San Diego too many times and what a nice place to spend money.😊
Draining the emergency fund to start a Roth was a bad idea. Then financing a car after...dang
Isnt a Roth like a 401k?? Why is it a bad idea??
@@FreeAgent797 Because it’s an emergency fund. 🤦🏻♂️
She seems like a good person who really does just need a thrifty friend or two!
Or brain
@@summerforever6736 Pretty sure you need a brain to be able to talk on the phone.
Keep the car and pay it off asap. No sweat.
I heard a lot of excuses and no accountability. This is gonna take a while.
Never be scared to take a step back and admit that you made some mistakes. Don't backtrack, just keep moving forward! You're on your way to a great path by first learning from your mistakes. Good luck to her!
Hard to take a step back after moving to San Diego.
No no it was extremely stupid to get back in debt after actually doing the debt free scream let her grovel in deception awhile before koving forward
I want to see Dave Ramsey's reaction to this video. 😂
all he cares about is getting paid
Probably some yelling but I think some uncle Dave talk.
Doesnt make sense. Sounds like she just wanted to be on the radio again.
I like that she is 💯 % honest ! We all struggle with money 💰 🚂 🏦

ALL is a Totality word>>>
To stop using totality words (only, every, never, always, ...)
Use the phrase "without exception"
"So like I had debt and like I paid it off and like moved across the country and like my new friends think I'm like a total square and lame like and now I'm in debt again "......sigh 😑
lolololol
🤣🤣🤣
@joe, BINGO
Math is still math, even in California.
Exactly 👏
Except it's actually MATHS.
Actually math is racist in California
They are being too too nice to her. Man where's Dave??? She talks to much
I’m finally debt free!
Why did this caller annoy me…. Next caller please
Because the solution is super straightforward yet she's over here laughing nervously after every word and taking forever to admit that she just has a self-control issue. It was like listening to a child admit they misbehaved.
Because every other word out of her mouth was like???
Sounds like she forgot everything she learned and relapsed
so8nds like she was never out of debt to begin with
Since she's moved, she and her friends are probably living their best lives -- and being on a budget and stuff seems boring.
Epic Life? Tired of that BS
She can't face going back to 'Noodle Nights'.
Sounds like a "I should reward myself" mentality issue that got her to where she is today. Budgeting and following the Dave Ramsey way should follow throughout your life, not just once.
This caller is not motivated at all. She probably wants to join a country club soon.
Like he said, the fact that you showed up, was vulnerable, and humble is a courageous thing to do! Along my debt free journey for financial freedom I have backtracked more times than I can count but once you take ownership and put one foot forward again progress still happens. That's why on my channel I'm sharing all the things I'm doing to pay off my final personal debt and then secure income producing assets. It's all about creating systems so you don't slide back into old habits. Sometimes that's easier said than done or you mess up and have to start all over again. Tis' life - you got this!
So basically she’s not following the Ramsey plan at all given that her emergency fund is not at $1000. I am proud of her for admitting all of this on the air, it could not be easy.
Yea I hardly bet most don’t do 1000. I did about $4k then payed everything off
@@edb484 in my experience, as a Ramsey coach, those that make their own plan and not Dave’s plan, leads to issues, you are an exception I suppose
@@RabeaJarrar sure thanks
@@DMS1010 Those that make their own plan and don't experience issues don't feel the need to get a coach.
This girl is insufferable. She's making excuse after excuse for herself. She doesn't want to change, she just wants to be told it's ok.
And I'm SHOCKED she's not married. Just plain shocked. /s
She is a consumer. Her mindset is the issue.
Spot on!
Adolescent Adults.
I can't even count the amount of times she said "like". I wanted to scream!
Why? Broke people get married all the time
If she says like one more time I’m gonna, like, flip out
The vocal uptalk and vocal fry are rampant
How does someone with such a big income have such little discipline? INSANE
Oh I have seen people making $2-300K and still live paycheck to paycheck. I can find thousand ways to spend $20k per month.
Finding that accountability is huge with keeping on the right path.
Living the LOP lifestyle.
Life on payments.
Love it. You down with LOP?
Back to the baby steps
Why did she even call in? Her monthly income is almost the same as her debt? What a waste of time for the hosts
Don't follow the crowd. You will be glad you did. Keep the baby steps first and foremost in your life. You will be sleeping better than all your friends for sure.
You know the plan, the plan worked. You stopped the plan, you went into debt and feel stress and embarrassed. Are you going to follow the plan or not? Next caller
The cycle of shame is real. I get it.
Vulnerability is strength. Admitting that you are not who you think you are and and starting over with honesty.
Sell the friends and the car
For some being in debt is a lifetime issue...for others it's natural to be debt free. Just getting debt free means nothing is has to be a lifetime change in your behavior with how you handle money. It's really not easy for many even when they get debt free.
Good luck finding a used car for $7000 that will even get you across town .
She lives in the worse state.
@@blackworldtraveler3711 I live in corrupt Illinois. Trying to follow the program and sell my car and buy something that will at least get me where I need to go . I'm refuse to pay new prices for a used car .
I got a scion xb for 4600 with 180k miles on it about a year ago when prices were crazy. The car still runs its a Toyota Camry underneath
She should just pay it off
I feel terrible for this person. Being addicted to debt is no different then being addicted to drugs, alcohol, food etc. With that said, they clearly got bad advice and made some bad decisions. It's ok though. You know how to get out of it. So do that.
Not everything is an addiction. People often used the word addiction to justify bad choices.
@@Ryan_DeWitt lol and yer most likely perfect!! Bah ha ha
@@donjohnson1416 What a stupid comment. Say a truthful statement and someone says you're not perfect. Great response.
I wouldn’t say addicted I would say irresponsible
@@ProfessorMikee I would say addicted.
How did she get a job that pays $8k a month speaking like that?
literally sounds like a brain dead 15 year old
This was a bit exhausting to listen to.
Where did she find a decent car for 14 grand?
They became not a loser for a while but became a loser again. Going into debt does not make them a loaer but making 8k a month and not being able to pay this off because you want to go do fun things is childish. If this were a man this would be called a loser.
Pathetic innit?
Why throw gender into it
It takes a lot of discipline to not spend in San Diego, been there too many times to remember. Doesn’t matter if you are a male or female or anything in between.
She could’ve pulled any amount from the Roth up to what she contributed.. without any penalty at all!!
Consumer lifestyle and mindset that's the issue.
I have similar problems. I get too comfortable making small payments. But in my defense, my truck payment is worth the reliability. Minnesota vehicles tend to either be rust boxes for dirt cheap or expensive, pristine vehicles.
...once an airhead...
So you could figure out how to pay $47k off but not $10k. Ok
Why'd she even call them? The answer is so simple. What'd she expect to hear?
Whoever her financial professional is needs to lose his license. That’s terrible
She hanging out with a bunch of friends who spend too much, like a former smoker hanging out with a bunch of smokers.
She needs new friends or learn to say no.
Not to change the subject but it's so fascinating how expense control is so exactly like losing weight. It's one things to meet the goal, but the absolute hardest part is to keep the weight (or debt) off. All of the weight programs focus on losing the weight but once you reach the goal the temptations are still there and the excitement of getting to the goal has worn off. I wish there was more focus on maintenance. I think Rachel's videos are a great motivator for debt maintenance. Wish weight programs did the same.
Good kid getting in with the wrong crowd story, lol
Wants vs needs
With inflation the way it is and rising.... you should expect to see or hear about more of these experiences.
California does that to you trust me I know!
This case is sooo weird. How do you make 8k a month, and freak out that you can't pay off at 10k debt in 3 months????
This caller is a heifer and the details she’s giving are sus. Make 8k a month and can’t pay off her cheap car? I want to see her pay stubs bc something smells fishy!
How did she do a debt free scream? Sounds like she's never even heard of Ramsey.
I love a good sequel.
Spender wants validation. Yawn.
8000 a month in San Diego is not good income
All about choices.
then move
She makes 8k a month in California that's like 4k a month in most other states.
Probably more like 5-6k but for sure.
Plus SD, expensive area.
The country is collapsing.
It became rubble in 1776, so...
Who says use your emergency fund to pay into your IRA. Shes got a spending problem it's in her family she needs to notice it and when ever she gets the itch she needs to know it's the addiction not the issues. This call needs dave to kick her into motivation alittle, she needs to hear Dave's do your own plan speech
If I had $100 for every time I heard her say I like on this call, I’d be rich…
Some folk like paying interest eh
@6:30 George "livin' la vida loca" Classic!!!
Please quit saying like! I can't listen to this.
Dave would have not been so nice... She got debt free and went through 2020 then thought it would be a good idea to go back. She couldn't afford a 14 thousand car.. and if she bought it in 2021 she over paid for it.
She just makes dumb choices and sounds like she has zero motivation to pay it off and stay debt free... This is an easy fix, and she knows it.
If I hear the word “like” one more time
8k a month yep consumer mindset is the issue.
This call was painful to listen to.
She doesn't seem to have any life goals other than just showing her family up. Pride goes before a fall.
8k a month is nearly 100k a year. Start investing.
Never mind
We all fall off the wagen once in a while get back on and get that paid and put of your life
You are always saving or paying for a car. A car isn’t an investment, it’s a necessity. Life is too short.
Oh FFS
This lady sounds completely directionless and meandering.
Find a good friend fast but in the meantime, maybe put a sticky note in your wallet that says something to trigger you and make you think about the next purchase. Just a thought
She’s partying and doing coke.
All debt is is accumulated expenses. Anyone can easily fall back into debt.
You have to pay for FPU every year? I thought it one a once time fee for a life time access.
Nope... per year.
Most who actually follow the plan a year wouldn't need the online access after that, having developed habits.
It's money so they add a update probably banking that most people will not be disciplined and continue the subscription.
@jimmy, again Dave runs a business not a charity. You are a charity case.
You don't have to pay for it if you've changed your habits. There's also a lot of free things you have access to....we ALL have to make daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly financial decisions.
I swore it was a lifetime membership when I did FPU as well many many years ago and it seemed to have changed
1000 emergency fund is stupid
that needs to adjusted with inflation
It SHOULD NOT be enough.
I like and then I like so after that like, and like yeah, so like I forgot what I was like going to say
Debt is more hereditary,,,,than anything else,,,,
The road to success is hardly ever a straight line. It’s often a series of curly cues.
Curly fries, I am all in!
She doesn’t seem to have debts but she seems to have DEBT ADDICTION. It is like an alcohol addict who think they drink too much and have drinking problems but in fact they are addicted to alcohol. They might get rehabilitation for a while and claim they ARE SOBER but they feel “empty” without it. Then they go back to drink again right after the rehab.
This young lady symptom is so similar to the addict.
I can't like listen to this like call anymore.
She’s lost her mind. Who goes back to debt after being debt free. 😡 angry at her
How did she do her debt free scream in April but her debt has been there for longer than a year?
April 2020.
man even relationships matter....
Grow up
im confused.."i did my debt free scream, then followed the baby steps....."wait what?
then as call gets further along...she doesn't immediately know the answers to questions being asked. something is not right...how much did u pay off?
" ummm..47k??"..... what is yout new debt in? "ummm a car"....hoe much do you have in savings "umm......."
You know that's blasphemy, right? shame shame
Like you kind talk like you uh like don't have a like clue like, like um like oh like. She literally said like and um every other word.
She fits right in with being a stereotypical California girl.
Staying debt free takes a lot of discipline! Habits have to change and constant work! 🙏🏼 that she finds her why again and back on track.
maybe she's nervous
It is easier to be debt free when single and no kids in an apartment.....just wait til you have a wedding then kids and need a house and different car because of the kids....the fun has only begun!
Then just don’t do those things
