When he fought the Guardian When he fought Aku in Human form and knew that he knew that I knew that he knew that he would steal the sword When he fought Mad Jack When His father first fought Aku When he Trained with the Monkeys Those are my Top 5
Mine are: The film noir episode with the robot and its (his?) dog The one with the Spartans Jack vs the three blind archers Jack and the Scotsman on the bridge Jack vs the Shinobi And the "WTF am I even watching bonus award": Jack is Naked
:D i loved the one where he knew that aku knew that he knew that aku would steal the sword, but my fav episodes gotta be all the scotsman ones, loved him as a kid
Long ago, in a distant channel, I, CN, the rebooting master of evil unleashed an unspeakable live action series. But a foolish show called Samurai Jack rose up to oppose me. Before the final blow was struck, I cancelled it and flung it into the future, where my awful reboots are law. Now the fool seeks to undo the damage done by TTG and PPG. This is Samurai Jack.
Niko Ortiz I literally cried when he died. *Slash and crash* Noooooo! X9! Noooooo! *Lulu... take care of Lulu...* What? i-i-I'm not crying. I just got something in my eyes! *Final view of Lulu's picture with music* -on the floor bawling-
One of my favorites was towards the end of the series. Almost the entire episode has nothing to do with Jack. Instead, we see several bounty hunters meet up and start explaining why each of them is better equipped to defeat Jack. Eventually, they agree to work together and utilize all their skills, and lay an elaborate ambush. After 20 minutes building these characters, Jack shows up and defeats them all in 10 seconds, and continues walking on from the scene.
That had me thinking about that batman episode where they talk about how they almost killed him, only in this episode they are planning his death and yes it was so awesome I had to watch it again.
Dorelaxen The episode of the three blind archers is the one thing I remember the most fluently from my childhood. It was just so amazing, the feeling of awe will never disappear.
Jack and the Hunters was very cinematic and it showed how Jack kinda got his peace "disturbed" and the way he was "pushed" to his limit just out of nowhere and in no time - was so captivating to watch! The one with the Seth dogs was brutal I still remember when I watched it the very 1st time as a kid (2nd-3rd grade) nothing kept my interest like this show did and I can go on like that about every god damn episode... It's so ungodly hard to nail a top15 episodes, let alone a top5. I remember about 30 episodes just off the top of my head... It's unbelievable how much inspiration I've drawn from it ever since.
It's not about the archers themselves or the fact that he couldn't bet the dogs of Set in that one episode. The blind archers episode was more about the presentation and the atmosphere. The silence through most of the episode was just intense.
The whole point was to build him up as a mythological figure because they _were_ experienced, and he nailed them anyway. In Seasons of Death they literally do the same gag for the winter segment. Jack is almost never in any real danger - and when that's half the point here - then of course they couldn't squeeze that kind of tension into the last 30 seconds of the episode, the story wasn't from _his_ perspective, so his invulnerability is the source of their tension. He's not in any danger in Tale of X9 either.
Samurai Jack was an awesome show and an epic part of my childhood. Fun fact they also created the 2003 Star Wars clone wars series..back when grievous was actually a nearly unstoppable killing machine...before gorgey boy screwed him up.
Not a single episode on your list is in my top 5... Which I think speaks more to the quality of the show and most of the episodes than it does to anything else.
My favorite thing about Samurai Jack lists are how they're always different between people. The premier movie and Birth of Evil are pretty consistently on the list, but there are so many episodes that people love
Not that anyone cares, but My Top 5: 5. Samurai vs. Shinobi (The title says enough) 4. Jack rediscovers his village (Jack almost breaks, but remembers his purpose) 3. Jack and the Haunted House (the vid above says it all) 2. The Princess and the Bounty Hunters (Diff. art styles, tragic princess) 1. The Tale of X9 (It's the TALE OF X9!!!, reminds me of Cowboy Bebop too) *Also, I do own the DVD collection, with Phil LaMar's autograph on the Season 1 set.
Impossible to pick my favourites let alone rank them but here goes.. Jack vs The Imakandies Jack vs Dogs of Seth Jack vs The Guardian Jack vs The Scotsman Jack vs The Saammmurai etc etc etc but one episode which stood out for me the most, the episode which is testimony on why Samurai Jack is the greatest tv show ever.....dunno remember the name of the episode but it was "Skilled Assassins try to kill jack" the whole episode was about some deadly assassins trying to deploy a trap on Jack but Jack killed all of them in 30 seconds (I noted the time)
Garrett Carter That's my favorite. The pyramid robbery episode, Shaolin monks, blindfolded forest combat, jumping, and the Aku storytelling ones are on my list too.
I loved the episode showing Demongo, Aku's top lieutenant, his voice being so funny, but showing that he could be a very unpredictable and powerful adversary. I really liked that character. One other episode that's on my top is the very one, the Jack's origin and confrontation with Aku, it had one seriously gorgeous montage of Jack training.
1. Jack vs Beetle robot army 2.Jack and the Spartans 3.Jack in the Dome of Doom 4.Jack vs Zombies 5.Jack and three blind archers 6.(honorable mention : all episodes with Scotsman)
If Doug was familiar with the series, I really would like to see him do a Raiders of the Story Arc on Samurai Jack. That was phenomenal start for a series.
Hey, don't know if anyone mentioned it, but samurai Jack is having a week long Livestream, found at www.adultswim.com/videos/streams/samurai-jack/ They are showing all the episodes to hype up to the premiere of season 5 on Saturday
That's funny. I thought Aku was hilarious when I was a kid, because he didn't seem very evil to me. Now as an adult I find him hilarious, even though he's _slightly_ more evil than I remember.
It must be because as a kid I didn't understand Aku's sense of humor, rewatched the series recently and I just realized how much comedy you miss as a kid.. Very surprised you find him evil, because his technological dystopian future doesn't look so bad to me as an adult..
It's probably really telling of the quality of the show that nearly every top 5/most recommended episodes list for this show you see contain so many different episodes. Jack and the Mountain, Jack and the Bounty Hunters, the 3 part pilot, the blind archers, I could go on and on and on with the number of fantastic episodes to this series.
Great list Walter. A few more of my favorites are "Aku's Fairy Tales," "Jack and the Monks," "Samurai vs. Ninja," "The Princess and the Bounty Hunters," and "Tale of X-9." Can't wait for season 5!
MrElmo54321 I loved that episode for the final fight scene, which was definitely incredible and unique. It deserves a shoutout in Honorable Mentions at least. But the rest of the episode before the fight wasn't anything special. Regrettably, I don't see it deserving a spot in Top 5.
Idk, there are some weaker episodes and at _least_ 10 obvious standouts. A top 5 list does seem silly though... But like the episode with the baby (the 'finale') and the episode where Jack goes "undercover" in the mob. Or when he steals from an Egyptian pyramid with a sly thief. One where two southern bounty hunters try to get Jack on a train. They're all kind of innocuous. But I take your point. Samurai Jack was a really impressive show overall. There are also a few truly great ones that I've grown cold to because CN played them too many times when I was a kid. But that's a different thing.
I love the Spectacular Spiderman discs in the background. Hint at possible Channel Awesome mention of an amazing TV series that was cancelled too soon?
Honorable mention to Aku's Fairy Tales- it's refreshing and hilarious to see Jack as the bad guy. "Rapunzel, let down your hairs" *Horse falls and squishes Jack*
Jack and the Haunted House and Jack Remembers the Past are two of my personal favourite episodes. The fact that they were the only favourites on the list (including honourable mentions) speaks more to me about the quality of the show and the fact that there are so many great episodes that people can choose for their own lists. In truth, it makes me quite happy to see more than my favourites on the list. Let's hope that the show can finally have that epic send-off it deserves now that it is no longer cancelled.
Yo love samurai Jack so happy you did this list I can say with as much bias as I can possibly muster that this is the best episode of top 5 you have ever done! Definitively!
Rejoice Walter. For the Scotsman is set to appear in Season 5 :) My top 5 Samurai Jack episodes are (Not counting Season 3 episodes, because that season was my favorite and most of my favorite episodes are there): 5)Jack and the Scotsman 4)Jack vs. Demongo, the Soul Collector 3)Samurai vs. Ninja 2)Tale of X-9 1)The Aku Infection There are more episode that I enjoyed, but couldn't fit them in a top 5.
Michael Ternosvky I love The Aku Infection so much. As a fan of stories about over coming stuggles of the individual, I have been watching that episode over and over. Actually come to think of it, that episode might had been one of the very closest that Aku defeated Jack without even realising it.
You're not wrong there. It wasn't Aku's intension to infect Jack, but he definitely would have had him if Jack's will wasn't strong enough. I remember watching that episode multiple times when I was a kid :)
Impossible to pick my favourites let alone rank them but here goes.. Jack vs The Imakandies Jack vs Dogs of Seth Jack vs The Guardian Jack vs The Scotsman Jack vs The Saammmurai etc etc etc but one episode which stood out for me the most, the episode which is testimony on why Samurai Jack is the greatest tv show ever.....dunno remember the name of the episode but it was "Skilled Assassins try to kill jack" the whole episode was about some deadly assassins trying to deploy a trap on Jack but Jack killed all of them in 30 seconds (I noted the time)
The moments that stick out the most in my memory are the light vs. dark fight where jack and the black ninja are fighting in a tower while the sun is slowly setting, and the episode with the blind jackal guardians. Also: "You can fly?!" "No. Jump good."
1. Tale of X9 2. Jack vs the Guardian 3. Jack vs the Bounty Hunters 4. Jack vs the Shinobi 5. Jack vs the Sah-moo-rai My top 5, funny that my top episode also barely had Jack in it
Okay I just have to talk about my favorite episode... clears throat Jack and the Traveling Creatures (the portal guardian episode) is my all time favorite episode. This episode contains everything I love about the series. I love the sense of journey and exploration you feel during the first few minutes when immersed in the multiple environments - all of which have beautifully designed and drawn atmospheres surrounding each location. The lore of the ancient creature that transports jack across the lake just broadens the overall history and mythology of the future world jack is in. Also adding to the lore is the design of the path that leads to and surrounds the time portal. You see the countless bodies of robots and fallen warriors having been there for seemingly centuries or millennia. All of this leads up to one of my favorite fights in the entire series: jack vs the time guardian. This is one of the VERY few times jack loses a battle from simply being outmatched. It reminds the audience that even though jack is an extremely skilled fighter, he's still human. Also, according to the guardian it wasn't time for jack to enter the portal because he wasn't ready yet. Lastly, the final shot of the episode is incredible. Seeing a future vision of an older jack as a king still wielding his sword is a beautiful way to close the episode. It shows that despite jack losing his fight, he'll one day return to the past and become a FREAKIN' KING when the time is right. In my opinion, this episode is perfect and is nothing short of pure art. K end of critique! (thanks for reading if you did!)
I can't say which season it's from, but the episode where Jack is confronted by a ninja in black is one of my all-time favorites. What I remember most is how Jack turned his own robes into an outfit similar to the assassin's, except for being white, and how their fight involved light and shadows.
My favorite episode is the Bounty Hunter Princess one. The whole episode these bounty hunters prepare their ultimate plan and Jack puts them to shame with the stakes being heartcrushing.
I think Jack and the Lava Monster and Samurai Vs Ninja deserved a honorable mention too. The latter for having one of the most tense and creative fight scenes in animation history, and the former for its legitimately tear-jerking ending.
XXVIII: Jack and the Rave (Samurai Jack in a rave and busting both heads and moves) XL: Samurai versus Ninja (A beautiful fight of Light vs Shadow) VII: Jack and the Three Blind Archers (The sheer skill Jack possesses) XI: Jack and the Scotsman, Part 1/Part 2 (Can't deny seeing the Scotsman for the first time is always a joy) XXVI: Jack's Sandals (Always nice to see people that remind Jack of the time he is trying to return to)
For me the best episode is "The Princess and the Bounty Hunters". Its perfect. The description of the plans all in different type of drawing, the tension waiting the arrival of Jack, the drop of water, the sounds, the attack. An episode almost without Jack, and without a single word spoken from him, just Bad-ass, simple and perfect.
My favorite by a wide margine is the episode with the blind archers, the use of sound, lack of dialoge and visuals is what I always look back on when this show comes up.
My five favorites are the birth of evil, young Jack in Africa, Jack vs Aku, Samurai vs Samurai, and the Tale of X9. There are so many good ones but those are my favorites
It's been a long time since I've seen Samurai Jack, but it was definitely my favorite show on CN. As for my top 5: Jack Learns to Jump Good Jack and the Rave Jack and the Ultra Robots Jack and the Labyrinth The Birth of Evil
Tartakovsky, at a panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2016, confirmed that the Scotsman will return to the series. I am so hyped to see the Scotsman again! Can you imagine him as a grouchy old man?
I cant remember the name of the episode, but I remember the one where Jack comes across a dopy monster that wont stop following him around as Jack searches for some sort of crystal, and something happened later on to Jack, causing the dopy monster to become a massive, vicious beast and save Jack. That was one of my favorites.
My favorites? Jack vs. the DJ b/c it was probably one of the best music they've used for that episode alone. Anytime the Scotsman is in will always be my favorite. Jump Good is another favorite of mine.
Ya know the thing I realized about Birth of Evil, Jack and Aku basically have the same man to thank for coming into world, and were born on basically the same day...trippy
My top 5: Jack and the Scotsman- this is the episode that won the Scotsman so many fans. The humor in it is spot on. Comedic timing perfection. Jack and the zombies- yes. Very disturbing at times, especially once Jack loses his sword, with Aku there. (Bear in mind... he can't hurt Aku without that sword.) Jack and the haunted house- So much suspense. The four seasons of death- This episode feels like it was made just to showcase their worldbuilding abilities. Four short stories themed around the seasons. Tale of X9- Takes on a dark, noire style, about an ex assassin android. The repetitive dialogue feels reminiscent of Frank Miller's writing in Sin City. It works. It spends the whole episode building up the atmosphere, and this robot's character. He gets blackmailed into trying to take out Jack... for a long, tense scene he stalks him... then gets one shotted like any mook Jack's faced before. Makes you wonder about the stories behind all the other "robots" he's killed. And look at Jack's face. He knows.
i am so hyped for the new series but one episode I personally feel should of been on this list was the one when Aku was sick and Jack accidentally engulfed part of aku. I feel that one was a serious battle for Jack and over came a heck of a challenge it almost defeated him fighting Aku in that manner. While i agree with the others in this review those episodes were certainly awesome episodes. Personally I find it hard to pick favorites because the ENTIRE series is so awesome!!! I gotta say though that haunted house episode was freaky as heck and I remember it ALLLLLL TOO WELL.
When he fought the sam-moo-rai. That guy was funny. A funky hip hop samurai wannabe that got his ass humiliated by jack, then in the end wants jack to teach him. Great episode
My Favorite Samurai Jack Episodes? Well some of the ones you mentioned made it. But here are My Top Honorable Mentions. 5. Jack vs Aku 4. Jack vs Demongo 3. The Tale of X-9 2. The Princess and the Bounty Hunters 1. Samurai vs. Ninja
I personally would include the episode with that blue guardian guy who's just a blacker Morpheus, where we see jack get beaten and almost killed until a portal saves him. It gives us a good view of what tartakovsky probably had in mind for a finale to the series, and I hope it's how the series ends and that we get to see black Morpheus one more time
Good picks for the best episodes, honestly Samurai Jack is such a fantastic show I can easily imagine any episodes from the original series being listed as the best, it really is one of those rare instances where one can find perfection in everything the show had to offer. My personal picks for best episodes would be Jack Vs. The Three Archers, Jack & the Travelling Creatures, Samurai Vs. Ninja, Jack & The Spartans, and my choice for best episode in the entire series: The Tale of X9. I recently re-watched that episode and it is still as stylized, gripping, tragic and tense as I remember. In the short span of twenty minutes, Samurai Jack managed to introduce and make the audience care so deeply for a robotic killer and his quest to rescue his dog, to the point where we're conflicted as to who to root for in the end. Jack is the hero and should win by all rights, but doing so means seeing the end of X9, and the fate of Lulu grim and unknown. Nothing quite tugs at my heartstrings like that episode, for my money, the single best instance of animated storytelling ever put to the screen.
I remember that there was an episode where jack fights a black dressed ninja that hides in the shadow and it's invisible and jack dressed like a ninja and defeated him.
Anyone else hyped for the new season starting this weekend? HYPE!!!!
Channel Awesome so hyped
Hell Yeah!!!! Got get back! Back to the past! Samurai Jack!
Channel Awesome Yayyyyy, hyped! Wait what are we talking about?
Channel Awesome actually it's airing on Toonami

When he fought the Guardian
When he fought Aku in Human form and knew that he knew that I knew that he knew that he would steal the sword
When he fought Mad Jack
When His father first fought Aku
When he Trained with the Monkeys
Those are my Top 5
i love the 300 spartans one and the massive mech/jeagers one
Mine are:
The film noir episode with the robot and its (his?) dog
The one with the Spartans
Jack vs the three blind archers
Jack and the Scotsman on the bridge
Jack vs the Shinobi
And the "WTF am I even watching bonus award": Jack is Naked
AceOfClubsHUN that first one you listed is "The tale of X9" and it is one of my favorites as well
....Lulu, sweet thing
When he fought the blind archers in the woods.
J Grandmaster 👏👏👏👏👌👌👌👌
Clever... Very clever.
J Grandmaster
Gotta go back!
back to the good shows!
Samurai Jack!
watch out!
😂 OhMyGosh! This is so funny.
It is actually a continuation, not a reboot.
I would add the episode where Jack fights Shinobi, the Warrior of the Shadow. The animation of that fight is simply stunning
That's my favorite, probably tied for favorite with the Princess and the Bounty hunters one.
Tale of X9 , the best episode in my opinion
Niko Ortiz Lulu...sweet thing
Niko Ortiz word
Niko Ortiz I literally cried when he died.
*Slash and crash*
Noooooo! X9! Noooooo!
*Lulu... take care of Lulu...*
What? i-i-I'm not crying. I just got something in my eyes!
*Final view of Lulu's picture with music*
-on the floor bawling-
Agreed. So good.
agreed
Samurai Jack is the best.
Easily one of my favorite cartoons of the early 2000's.
I'm so hyped for season 5.
do you know the same actor who voice him voice afro samruai
*Gives everyone the Samurai Jack eyes*
*WATCH OUT!*
Dr Aidan Quinn You have seen too much. You have the spirit of the samurai now.
Elena Garcia Thank you
Dr Aidan Quinn You're welcome
Elena Garcia No PROBLEM
Pizzario Samurai Jack Jack Watch out!
My favorite was the Blind Archers episode. The silence really showed how different the show was from the standard fare.
Dorelaxen The designs and animation rhythm are beautiful
Dorelaxen The episode of the three blind archers is the one thing I remember the most fluently from my childhood. It was just so amazing, the feeling of awe will never disappear.
Jack and the Hunters was very cinematic and it showed how Jack kinda got his peace "disturbed" and the way he was "pushed" to his limit just out of nowhere and in no time - was so captivating to watch! for those of you wondering about the scotsman. in genndy's words "he's back, in a big way".
Did he really say that? LOL! I thought I saw him being vague about it, but that was before they said "50 Years in the Future"
Good news is that The Scotsman will be back for Season 5. I hope he says some more vulgar insults now that it's on Adult Swim.
GODZ Music Lol, it's been 50 years since season 4. We'll be seeing a very old one, but hopefully he'll still kick ass.
The Kanki dickriding association the trailer showed him with a robot eye and a mini gun for a leg giving off a battle cry...he's gonna kick ass
Tbh I never liked him
but he always had the mini gun for a leg
Train Hardnett no he had a machine gun for a leg
He didn't mention the bounty hunter episode...kill me
Njörðr Torbjörn fully agree that is my favorite episode in the entire series
The Princess and the Bounty Hunters? That episode is great!
I'm surprised how many people agree with this. It used to never appear on top ten lists. I thought I was crazy.
No it wasn't. I don't know what word you're looking for, but "cliche" isn't it.
The whole point was to build him up as a mythological figure because they _were_ experienced, and he nailed them anyway. In Seasons of Death they literally do the same gag for the winter segment. my top 5 episodes of Samurai Jack
5) Jack and the Haunted House
4) Jack and the Lava Monster
3) Jack and the Spartans
2) Tale of X-9
1) Jack vs. Aku
Not a single episode on your list is in my top 5...
Which I think speaks more to the quality of the show and most of the episodes than it does to anything else.

2. The Princess and the Bounty Hunters (Diff. art styles, tragic princess)

*Also, I do own the DVD collection, with Phil LaMar's autograph on the Season 1 set.
Nick DePaulo Jack remembers the past is the name of that episode
Impossible to pick my favourites let alone rank them but here goes..
Jack vs The Imakandies
Jack vs Dogs of Seth
Jack vs The Guardian
Jack vs The Scotsman
Jack vs The Saammmurai
etc etc etc
but one episode which stood out for me the most, the episode which is testimony on why Samurai Jack is the greatest tv show ever.....dunno remember the name of the episode but it was "Skilled Assassins try to kill jack"
the whole episode was about some deadly assassins trying to deploy a trap on Jack but Jack killed all of them in 30 seconds (I noted the time)
VB MUTT that episode you're referring to is the Princess and the Bounty Hunters.
THE HYPE FOR MY CHILDHOOD IS REAL! A NEW SAMURAI JACK AND DUCKTALES 😆
Knight Warrior Ducktales? Seriously, they're bringing it back!?
Is DarkWing Duck coming back too! Launchpad too!?
:)
Knight Warrior - praying Swat Kats Revolution comes out this year too!
@Above Beyond ....Well, Launchpad is back.
Never forget the incredible art direction for the Samurai Vs. Ninja episode.
Garrett Carter That's my favorite. The pyramid robbery episode, Shaolin monks, blindfolded forest combat, jumping, and the Aku storytelling ones are on my list too.
I'm very excited for season 5!
MegaSoulHero same here
MegaSoulHero also I hope it goes really dark
Idk, jack using a gun and stuff is exciting already
DaLlama me too! but not so dark it gets edgy
1. Jack vs Beetle robot army
2.Jack and the Spartans
3.Jack in the Dome of Doom
4.Jack vs Zombies
5.Jack and three blind archers
6.(honorable mention : all episodes with Scotsman)
If Doug was familiar with the series, I really would like to see him do a Raiders of the Story Arc on Samurai Jack. That was phenomenal start for a series.
I'm surprised they didn't include the episode where Jack fights his shadow copy. that's one of my favorites.
One of the best cartoons ever! Episode XXVI: Jack's Sandals is one of my favourites. The scene with family at the end is brilliant.
Hey, don't know if anyone mentioned it, but samurai Jack is having a week long Livestream, found at www.adultswim.com/videos/streams/samurai-jack/
They are showing all the episodes to hype up to the premiere of season 5 on Saturday
they'll also have Gendy on before the premiere
and the whole series is being played on loop, constantly going 24/7
private last great timing. The moment I pressed the link, #4 showed up. :)
Don't need no hype myself. I'm marathoning the series this week in preparation for the big event.
I hated Aku as a kid, since he was evil. Now as an adult I find him hilarious.
"his technological dystopian future doesn't look so bad to me as an adult.."
That's really depressing. - Honestly.
futurestoryteller Tells you much about my faith in humanity, does it?
Drath Luk
Yes. Yes, it does. But I kinda feel the same way
It's surprising I couldn't find Mr Enter in the comment section just freaking out over the premier of the new show😂
Hmmm....... Quite surprising!
Has doug seen this show yet? I was kinda hoping this would be him but then went "Oh, duh, he does top 11 episodes"
think he said somewhere in his vlogs that he hasn't seen it
Holy shit, you know what that means! Gotta spam him like crazy so he watches it (and makes vlogs possibly). Fuck yeah!
The Scotsman is confirmed for season 5.
Ninja," "The Princess and the Bounty Hunters," and "Tale of X-9."
Can't wait for season 5!
Jack and the Spartans has always been one of my favorites. Along with any episode featuring the Scotsman.
This is great! I'm actually in the process of watching the whole series again.
No Ninja vs Samurai? :(
MrElmo54321 I loved that episode for the final fight scene, which was definitely incredible and unique. It deserves a shoutout in Honorable Mentions at least.
But the rest of the episode before the fight wasn't anything special. Regrettably, I don't see it deserving a spot in Top 5.
Spectacular Spiderman AND Batman Beyond in the background?! Mad respect, I loved those shows.
👏Nice picks for this top 5. I always have a hard time doing these cause all the episodes are so fun and cool in their own way.
This list might as well be the whole series..
This and Courage were the best shows from CN.
Honorable mention to Aku's Fairy Tales- it's refreshing and hilarious to see Jack as the bad guy. "Rapunzel, let down your hairs" *Horse falls and squishes Jack*
Catalina Melo I know right? I even love how the kids rebel and tell their own stories of how things go down.
Let's be honest: the most visually stunning fight was at the end of Samurai vs. Ninja
Yo love samurai Jack so happy you did this list I can say with as much bias as I can possibly muster that this is the best episode of top 5 you have ever done! Definitively!
Rejoice Walter. For the Scotsman is set to appear in Season 5 :)
My top 5 Samurai Jack episodes are (Not counting Season 3 episodes, because that season was my favorite and most of my favorite episodes are there):
5)Jack and the Scotsman
4)Jack vs. Demongo, the Soul Collector
3)Samurai vs. Ninja
2)Tale of X-9
1)The Aku Infection
There are more episode that I enjoyed, but couldn't fit them in a top 5.
Jack vs The Imakandies
Jack vs Dogs of Seth
Jack vs The Guardian
Jack vs The Scotsman
Jack vs The Saammmurai
etc etc etc
but one episode which stood out for me the most, the episode which is testimony on why Samurai Jack is the greatest tv show ever.....dunno remember the name of the episode but it was "Skilled Assassins try to kill jack"
the whole episode was about some deadly assassins trying to deploy a trap on Jack but Jack killed all of them in 30 seconds (I noted the time)
Michael Ternosvky Also I really felt for Jack in that episode.
All of these were amazing, seen them all.
You havent seen them yet no one has.
+Djcaprisun Smith
u wot
Djcaprisun Smith yes I have these are all pre season 5 episodes
The video just came out 3 minutes ago and it's 14 minutes long even if you were going at double speed you couldn't of seen them all.
Djcaprisun Smith boy I skipped to each part then watched the full video
HOW DARE YOU NOT INCLUDE THE EPISODE WHERE JACK IS CHASING A RABBIT. OUTRAGEOUS
You mean Jack is naked?
People generally don't like that episode actually.
why is was fuuny
5:00 Not to mention the fact that they ARE CREEEEEEEEEEE-PY BEYOND ALL FUCKERY!!! And Tara Strong was one of them too. :)
episode 8, jack vs. mad jack hooked me completely when I first saw it back then, been a huge fan ever since...
The moments that stick out the most in my memory are the light vs. dark fight where jack and the black ninja are fighting in a tower while the sun is slowly setting, and the episode with the blind jackal guardians. Also:
"You can fly?!"
"No. Jump good."
hahah your "the great unknown" sounded great.
this was my favorite show as a kid so glad its back
Cool List Man!
1. Tale of X9
2. Jack vs the Guardian
3. Jack vs the Bounty Hunters
4. Jack vs the Shinobi
5. Jack vs the Sah-moo-rai
My top 5, funny that my top episode also barely had Jack in it
Honestly, every single episode in this series is super iconic. Every and any episode could end up on such a list.
I was surprised Jack and the Bounty Hunters or i think its Jack and the Guardians werent mentioned
Okay I just have to talk about my favorite episode... clears throat
Jack and the Traveling Creatures (the portal guardian episode) is my all time favorite episode.
Any episode where he loses his robe is a good episode.
Okay so I'm shameless.
i am super excited for this amazing show return
The fact that one entire shelf is just spectacular Spider-Man dvd's pleases me
I can't say which season it's from, but the episode where Jack is confronted by a ninja in black is one of my all-time favorites. What I remember most is how Jack turned his own robes into an outfit similar to the assassin's, except for being white, and how their fight involved light and shadows.
My favorite is Jack vs the Ninja. The beautiful animation with just black and white for the fight was stunning.
Can't forget the Shinobi or the three blind archers, both fantastic uses of visual and audio work
The Princess and the Bounty Hunters. Easily one of the best episodes of the series.
My fave Ep is Four Seasons of Death, the Spring part is WONDERFUL, with the "fairy" luring jack and her devilish smile at the end
XXVIII: Jack and the Rave (Samurai Jack in a rave and busting both heads and moves)
XL: Samurai versus Ninja (A beautiful fight of Light vs Shadow)
VII: Jack and the Three Blind Archers (The sheer skill Jack possesses)
XI: Jack and the Scotsman, Part 1/Part 2 (Can't deny seeing the Scotsman for the first time is always a joy)
XXVI: Jack's Sandals (Always nice to see people that remind Jack of the time he is trying to return to)
I'm surprised the X-Model episode didn't make the list. :o Although the rest are really good choices, too! :D
SO excited for season five!! The hype is real!!
Why not jack vs the 4 lion hunters ? That was a op eps
Tran5002...I think they were called as Imakandis...that episode was great...
even the 3 dogs of seth was great...jack couldn't beat them as well..
Scotsman's already been shown in one of the clips though, he's still alive and kicking ass.
It's been a long time since I've seen Samurai Jack, but it was definitely my favorite show on CN.
As for my top 5:
Jack Learns to Jump Good
Jack and the Rave
Jack and the Ultra Robots
Jack and the Labyrinth
The Birth of Evil
Amir Elkassed Oh yeah! I almost forgot the rave episode! I played the flash game for that episode a lot when I was younger.
Amir Elkassed...I don't remember the labyrinth...who was the bad guy?
1:16 oh I am SO stoked this made the list. I love this one.
4:28 OH you are in for a surpriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiise!
Almost every episode is a masterpiece, every list lacks the best episodes on different lists, it’d honestly quite amazing.
My favorites? Jack vs. the DJ b/c it was probably one of the best music they've used for that episode alone. Anytime the Scotsman is in will always be my favorite. Jump Good is another favorite of mine.
The Scotsman is definitely coming back.
THE SCOTSMAN IS COMING BACK!!!
Ya know the thing I realized about Birth of Evil, Jack and Aku basically have the same man to thank for coming into world, and were born on basically the same day...trippy
Thank you so much for putting the ultrabots epsiode in this list!
My top 5:
Jack and the Scotsman- this is the episode that won the Scotsman so many fans. The humor in it is spot on. Comedic timing perfection.
Jack and the zombies- yes. Very disturbing at times, especially once Jack loses his sword, with Aku there. (Bear in mind... he can't hurt Aku without that sword.)
Jack and the haunted house- So much suspense.
I gotta say though that haunted house episode was freaky as heck and I remember it ALLLLLL TOO WELL.
top 5 best teen titans episode
All about episode 12 for me. Love that Viking bit and super early cameo of Odin.
When he fought the sam-moo-rai. That guy was funny. A funky hip hop samurai wannabe that got his ass humiliated by jack, then in the end wants jack to teach him. Great episode
DrViperVideos...One of the funniest SJ episodes along with the first episode with The Scotsman..
Aku is pure fun, and Jack's the hero we love. I hope that season five keeps us happy.
One of the greatest series from my childhood.... woah Jack!
My Top 5
5: Jack and the Lava Monster
4: Jack and the 3 Blind Archers
3: The Birth of Evil
2: The Premiere Movie
1: Jack and the Traveling Creatures
My Favorite Samurai Jack Episodes?
Well some of the ones you mentioned made it. But here are My Top Honorable Mentions.
5. Jack vs Aku
4. Jack vs Demongo
3. The Tale of X-9
2. The Princess and the Bounty Hunters
1. Samurai vs. Ninja
Don't forget to not only rewatch the episodes, but read the 20 issue Comic series that's basicly season 4.5
I personally would include the episode with that blue guardian guy who's just a blacker Morpheus, where we see jack get beaten and almost killed until a portal saves him. It gives us a good view of what tartakovsky probably had in mind for a finale to the series, and I hope it's how the series ends and that we get to see black Morpheus one more time
No mention of episode 1? That episode is a masterpiece
1. Gatekeeper
2. Birth of Aku
3. The Princess & The Bounty Hunters (actually my number one)
4. Haunted House
5. Three Blind Mice (Archers)
