- Queens of the stone age performing live @ Rock Werchter 2011
(30/06/2011)
Josh Homme
Troy Van Leeuwen
Joey Castillo
Michael Shuman
Dean Fertita
Without any doubt one of the best 'unknown' numbers they have.
The 'jam' in the middle is simply mindblowing spectacular!
the breakdown when josh and mikey sing together is amazing. it deff gives me the chills
Yes, it's wonderful!! I love Mike's voice too.
i think it all depends on the songs they play whether you mosh and dance like crazy, or stand there chilled in awe. any song off the 1st album and most songs off songs for the deaf you wanna be dancing around like crazy, but other songs like this one, in the fade etc you do just wanna stand there and take it all in
One of the most underrated bands, ever! These guys are so good!!!!
+Fonzy Brookestone They're pretty well rated actually.
rated R I heard - waheeey
Not underrated at al 🤣
when the song breaks down and Josh and Mikey sing, man that gives me the fuckin chills... amazing. "Better Living..." is definitely one of their best songs.
Queens of the Stone Age is the one band that I WOULDN'T go nuts in the crowd to. Whenever I've seen them live, I just stand there in awe and try to soak in as much of it as possible and burn it into my brain, to hopefully never forget it. I don't wanna miss a single part of it. This band is the greatest live band I've ever seen.
wow, I'm so impressed with their new bass player! I think he's really stepped up an found his place in a band of super musicians
we love mikey
the best 8 minutes from Werchter Festival '11
@brody789 Watching Qotsa is never boring.
Josh seems to have a real good time.
+knetterwauz010 He really is fucking amazing live.
Bachishaman
I know... I was there... :D
Have seen them more then 8 times now and still loving them more and more
knetterwauz010 Yeah, I noticed the half empty bottle of vodka by his pedal board lol
i was there, this was a great performance, i feel like i am watching a historic moment in woodstock
I'm not sure the crowd is understanding what perfection they are witnessing
this is just out of this world. QOTSA = DEFINING ROCK
Absolutely love Qotsa! Josh, Troy,Nick,Joey- great man!❤️
Returning to this after a few years of lsitening to Jon Theodore era live performances and the studio version really gives me some perspective that while Joey was special I think he left at the right time. The guitar solo parts of this song are missing so much without anything unique added. For such an otherwise tight band to start feeling rushed and huried during parts of some songs takes me out of the experience at times. But songs like Battery Acid and Misfit Love and whatnot are also songs that feel like they're missing something played by someone other than Joey. It's the way of life I suppose
Queens of the Stone Age gods of stoner!!
💕💕 love love Josh
Props to whoever mixed this
that middle jam was absolutely amazing!
4:50 I DIED
@pouncelciot That's not a Qotsa logo, that's an 'Ampeg' logo. A famous brand wich produces bass amplifiers.
it was the best :) hope to see them back soon
Flawless 🖤
Asi es como quiero vivir la maldita vida
Killer performance 🤘🏼
that is one sexy guitar
freakin' awesome!
@Brody789 - UK Audiences are always rocking!
oh and by the way, qotsa played fairly early in the day at Werchter compared to Glasto - maybe this connection you mention was related to intoxication of whatever floated the audiences boat that day.
@brody789 I've always considered Qotsa one of those eloquently low-key bands that lets the music speak for itself, and that's what the crowd should be "connecting" with. I've never got the people who think that the only way to appreciate the band live is to go one way or the other berserk in the crowd. So just because everyone isn't crowd-surfing at 4:14 automatically means they are bored at the performance? And what's this about the band looking bored, not enough smiling for your liking? :D
@brody789 acctually you are tottally right.
They played way to early on the evening. it started 8.30
They should 've been the headliner for that night but instead they got Linkin park after QOTSA .OMFG!
Werchter is all about money and its not the festival anymore it was.
I wish i was in glastonbury to see them the audience was way more enthousiast.
Still i like the video and like every version of there songs.
Portugal next year plz.
@brody789 Personally, I'm English and was at Werchter only... look at it from the musicians perspective, QOTSA had approx 76,000 people in front of them that day, if that doesn't give them a buzz and make them wanna entertain they're probably dead inside. Comparing concerts is never a good thing, we all have good and bad days - I'll remember that day for all the positives, no point comparing it to anything else -it was Werchter 2011.
4:06 that's what gods drink.
@Teuchterdavie Exactly my way of experiencing their shows as well. Go and bash into each other at some punk show or something...
@brody789 bring them to Portugal and we will teach everyone else :P
💕
6:30 Tom Morello was there!
@brody789 Somtimes people don't shout or jump or headbang, because they want to hear music better?
@brody789 But were you at both festivals ? I think only then you can compare the audience. Maybe you are right. I was there and I think they were really conected with the audience. Atleast that was what I felt.
@Teuchterdavie I know what you mean, but I've got the sensation that they aren't enjoying...
Whatever...
They are so lucky to be there
@brody789
it is not boring at all
I wanted to see this, but Eels won the contest
@brody789 Bored cause you watched the audience instead of the band? Something's not right there honey.
What's Josh doing in the crowd at 7:52
There is one @ 1:53.
Stil wonder what the JFK background during the concert had to do with their gig ?
Anyone can help?
@F0rtyNuggets you're so fucking right!!
Can somebody tell me how can i find that qotsa logo that appears on the top of an amp at minute 2:08??
Thanks
@evabakker err when did I say that, honey?
Heart rate: not normal.
Makes a change for the UK audience (i.e. Glasto 2011) to be a LOT more rocking than the rest of Europe.
Bored watching this.
@pouncelciot you should get a blue pill
Fucking amazing! Who the fuck down voted this 🖕🏼
I loved hearing some non-festival songs in the set list, but the lukewarm reaction of the crowd was really annoying. It's not because you can't sing it along that you have to start talking all over it.
@rovyerOnTube i was joking too
Oh my god the audience is quiet... Well, that's so lame.
It's an amazing song!
I didn't come here to hear the audience!!
The crowd seems dead at the beginning, but then they start to get it after the jam.
@rovyerOnTube no
You can take the Josh outta Kyuss...
Super tight, but I gotta say I'm not a huge fan of the keys how they're used here... #SoberJoeyNdrunkJosh
@brody789 Shows how much you actually give a shit about the music, I'd personally go apeshit even if Qotsa played this classic tune in a fucking kitchen closet to a zero audience.
Right let's get this straight as people are misinterpreting what I originally stated.
With the Glastonbury performance , both the band and the audience connected and Josh was in fine spirits. I don't know why people seem to think I am referring to moshing/head banging, I just get the feeling that the band are going through the motions on this performance and the audience can probably tell. That's why I found this particular performance boring to watch.
Sorry to have a different opinion
@matenizer Hahaha, come back and say something remotely interesting without twisting what I have said in a couple of years when you have grown up a little.
Douchebag? Lol.
Just because I didn't particularly like a QOTSA performance shown on YT, it doesn't mean I am insulting anyone.
Ciao bella x
Bored reading your comment.
The new bass player ...ehhhh bit of a tool ... LA guy ... right place, right time - just throw your hair back one more time dude
@SpaceCadet1 I don't give a shit about the music? I recently saw them at Glasto and also Bournemouth (as well as countless times over the last 8 years). If I didn't give a shit about the music I wouldn't have gone to see them would I?
They look piss bored at this festival and don't appear to connect with the audience who also look bored. That is all
@F0rtyNuggets Bored of the lack of enthusiasm from the audience, and compared to Glasto, Josh appears to be bored too. Just sayin
