Why do you have to pay for a domain name? Who owns the domain names? Why can't I just create a domain name like 'qqwwwe4th' (if it's not already used) and start it? Also, once you own a domain name, why do you have to pay yearly to use it? Who gets the money that you have to pay for a domain name.
Domain names are owned by government agencies. Many countries have a domain registration authority but most web sites are registered in the US. You pay for the privilege because administration costs money and the internet is a user pay based system. HTH
I have the same idea but with horses if I go to a plot of land and there is no house there why can't I built a house there and own that space why should I pay to buy land and pay some contact ro be allowed to build there. It's so stupid. The works is stupid.
