    What is it with people complaining about almost every guest on the show? You complain when someone doesn't talk enough, or talks too much, or says a phrase too frequently, or isn't cheery enough for your liking, or doesn't know every detail about their car, or make a mistake, or sweats too much. Good grief you don't have to put every negative thought you have into words guys.

      Everyone thinks it's their job to point out anything negative they can find, they do it all over youtube, Jays channel usually isn't as bad as most, most people treat each other with respect.
      No one cares how what they say may effect the people they are talking about.

      I just commented above about the 3- 67's I owned. I remember as a kid, the 1st "GTO" was actually a '64 tempest with a GTO option package. Then the '65, ok. The '66, ok. But the '67, I loved it on first sight and knew I'd own one someday. The '66 body style laid the groundwork for the steller styling refinements of the '67. I almost bought a '67 Tyrol Blue hardtop/Parchment top/interior 4 speed, fully factory loaded and restored back in 2012. But at the time, 36,500 was a lot to shell out when I'd likely drive it once a month, and never in the rain. But we can still dream.

    '67 Mustang

    '67 GTO

    '67 Firebird
    All desirable and collectable..

      Just happens to be right before the gas crisis which changed things, it's the same with 68 and 69 cars, even into 70.

    • @MaximRecoil
      @MaximRecoil 4 года назад +1

      First-generation Chargers ('66 and '67) aren't iconic at all, plus they are ugly and they were low-effort from Dodge (essentially a Coronet with a hastily added fastback). Second-generation Chargers ('68 to '70) are the only iconic ones in the entire history of the model line.
      '68 was the best year in my opinion. The newly styled Mopars (e.g., Charger, Road Runner, Super Bee) looked awesome, especially the Charger, and so did the C3 Corvette. Also, it was the year of the "Bullitt" Mustang (and Bullitt Charger, of course). On top of that it was the first year of the most iconic Chevelle body style, and the first year of the Torino.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the movie, but this dude watched it 3x in theaters simply because it had a '67 GTO in it? Hope he didn't get too much nut on the seat in front of him! Pontiac podcasts, Pontiac this, Pontiac that, This has definitely progressed from a "hobby" to an "obsession." I see meetings in a church basement in this guy's not-too-distant future..

    ...BTW in 1964 under Bill Mitchell and Chuck Brown (head of Pontiac since 1958) John Delorean designed the Pontiac Banshee XP-833, it would become the basis shape of the up and coming C3 Corvette. The Banshee was suppose to be equipped with a range of Pontiac V8's (from 326 to 421). Only two prototypes were ever built, one hardtop and one convertible. The hardtop had a motor similar to the one Jay said he was restoring in his Sprint (but the original 230 cubic inch motor only produced 165 hp), it's in a private collection called Napoli Indoor Auto in Milford CT. The convertible had a V8, a 421 H.O. that in this prototype convertible was 500+ lbs lighter than a big block C2, it's currently in the Joe Bortz collection along with some other very rare cars. Two unique features on the convertible were a retractable roof (into the trunk) and the horizontal taillight slits that would show up eventually on second generation Firebird.

    I'm also a Pontiac guy. Both "good old" and more. My first was a 1948 Pontiac Silver Streak flat head 6 with a 4 speed hydromatic transmission. Unusual because it was not the torpedo body, but it was with vacuum operated wipers both front and rear. No fender skirts, but with a sunshield. Rescued from a farmyard in 1958. I beefed up the rear suspension using shocks with external adjustable springs. I found a paper air cleaner element that exactly replaced the original oil bath element. Unfortunately I drove it to death because it was so much fun to drive. In 1964 I changed over to a corvair spyder and moved on to whatever looked best from then on. Married in 1964, started a family in 1974 and then only bought cars for utility. Now I'm 77 and disabled. But the memories are great. Wish I had more photos of my earlier cars to share…
