Yeah, as a Greek, even though we didn't get the win, I absolutely loved this game, so entertaining to watch. Giannis and Jokic are too good for most other European players, they're gonna be amazing in the Eurobasket. And so will Luka for that matter.
My predictions/wishful thinking have a Slovenia vs Greece final, I really hope we get to see that!
It’s actually horrifying to see how good Giannis is improving, he’s not just going to be a superstar. He’s hall of fame runner up. Like in my humble ass opinion. He’s a wilt Chamberlain kind of player. Dude sticks with the bucks might not win to much rings. But he’s just gonna be so god dam elevated on the court.

No, I definitely agree on that, but he is more athletic than he was when he first got in the NBA. The NBA is famous for having the best work out programmes and diets to get the players in shape. Jokić has gotten faster and has more stamina then before. That is all I am saying

if you are from America, it is very likely that you have never seen Euroleague, i.e. inter-club European basketball where the atmosphere is much better and you will especially see such an atmosphere in the Greek and Serbian teams in the fans of Panathinaikos, Olympiakos, Red Stars and Partizan

To be fair, Greece had no center in this game. Papagiannis the starting big guy is injured and Kostas Antetokoumpo got injured as well in the first quarter.
So he was mostly guarded by much shorter guys like Thanasis and occasionally by Giannis who, to be fair, was incredible in the game, by far the best player in the court

As an American it is nice to see the game go as global as its gotten. Arguably the top young players in the league are all foreign. Giannis, Luka, Jokic and Embiid. Lebron, KD and Steph are all old now and the future of the league is looking very diverse and could kick up some American competition to get back in the top spots again.
In order for Americans to build a new generation of superstars NBA needs to be less flashy, american coaches to work on fundamentals of bb, nba drop the 100 plus points policy and let defencive game roll and thus built more skilled & tough players. Also it has to drop the "we are all friends and we hang out together" mentality and built some rivalries and passion amongst NBA teams. Last but not least, more intense playing during regular season, less commercial time-outs

The Greek team has lack of players in the 5 position atm. Papagiannis is the main Center for the team. Kostas, Giannis and Thanasis covered the gap and they did their best vs Jokic and Milutinov. Jokic played at his position all the way. It was a great match.
Serbian team lacked also 5 players. Bogdanovic, Bjelica, Marjanovic, Pokusevski (all NBA players) and Micic got hurt at the begging (Euroleague MVP)
Actually 8 players. 3 more were hurt (Nemanja Nedović, Filip Petrušev i Aleksa Avramović)

Can you explain the"better teams" point??? Serbia is a top tier team and a contenter for gold medal in eurobasket. There are no better teams up there and if they are they are not too many (maybe Slovenia and France).
It didn't seem that we had problems in that match. The score was close against the favourites of winning the Eurobasket. If you also consider that the match was in Belgrade and the refs were much rooting for Serbia to qualify, then the Greek team did good overall.
