Huge basketball fan here in the US (Greek), and this year's tournament is shaping up to be one of the most exciting in recent memory. I can't wait. Especially after seeing Greece and Serbia go to overtime in an instant classic.
Can only expect more of these classic when the championship begins. Especially in the knockout stage 🤯
ref fuck this game though lets hope we have decent oficiating
Cheers from Greece my man!
hhahahahahahahahahahah 🇩🇪
Tyler Dorsey will be the key player for Greece. When he shoots consistently, things get much easier for the Greek team.
Where's giannis?
@@daijme Gannis is obvious a key player and a world class star!
@@qualityvigilante599 Is he playing in eurobasket?

1995 was a pretty stacked eurobasket.
Sabonis, Marciulionis, Kurtinaitis, Karnisovas, Perasovic, Kukoc, Radja, Vrancovic, Komazec, Savic, Danilovic, Bodiroga, Djordjevic, Divac, Paspalj, Giannakis, Fassoulas, Christodoulou, Pittis, Fucka, Gentile, Rusconi, Zdovc, Rigaudeau, Bilba, Ostrowski, Nosov, Fetisov, Bazarevich, Karasev and many more..
What a list... Hard to believe so many European icons competed amongst themselves in 95 😳
Anyone got any other picks? 👀

Galis against All Europe.
Galis, Drazen, young kukoc, young Radza, Paspali, Vrankovic, Duvac, Marculionis,
One of the most memorable finals too. Lithuanians were disgusted by the referees in the final and Croatians left the podium during Yugoslavia's national anthem and the Greek crowd booed the anthem too because of Greece's defeat in the semis and they supported Lithuania in the final.
@@petr79 And Croatians never won medal after that. Its their curse :)

Maybe in the final. Everybody in Europe don't think that Spain is strong this year.
Spain is always strong.
If Greece has no injuries, will be in the semi finals.
@@giorgoskountourgiannis8230 I hope you are right Giorgios, I really want to see them compete at the highest level like they always have. @@sergiomirallesbeneito7891 Spain will be in the semis.
Disadvantage of Greece is that the players miss many free throws.
Its a big problem all these years.
Greece has lost many games because of missed free throws.
@@giorgoskountourgiannis8230 I am sure you will do well with antetokounmpo this year, plus you have nick Kalathes and many great players. Also Greece always plays with heart and you guys have one of the best fans in basketball
@@sergiomirallesbeneito7891 basketball in Greece is a war, not a game.
Giannis misses many free throws.
Only Sloukas and Papagiannis are good in free throws.
Calathes in one game plays good and next 2-3 games not good.
If Dorsey scores many 3s, then we have good opportunities.
Semi finals Greece Turkey and Serbia Slovenia!
Turkey has big proplem on defense .
It will be a surprise for me if Turkey can play semifinal. Greece and Serbia will play final.

Great review, truly worthy of the great Lithuanian tradition in basketball! As a Slovenian, I do hope that our team will overcome our deficiencies in the paint and that we would manage to land another great final standing, since this tournament will really be star-studded! May the best team win! Big respect to Lietuva (and all the other teams) and cheers from Slovenia!
It's a pity that Latvia isn't there. I would love to see the rematch between them and us (hopefully beyond quarterfinals this time). Greetings from Slovenia.
Adding Porzingis to the picture would be wild 🔥 They're doing well in the World Cup qualifiers, so next year is the time for Latvians to shine!
Yep. It's so nice to see how the basketball is becoming a global sport. I want to also add this: guys, keep rockin' it! It's great to see You covering the European basketball with such enthusiasm.

This EuroBasket tournament is shaping up to be more interesting than the last NBA season. I love it, the competition is real, they play physical, intriguing basketball.
greek national team has so much depth. Antetokounmpo brothers, euroleauge legends like calathes sloukas and papanikolaou, dorsey and one of the greatest big men in europe papagiannis. Also the best euroleauge coach of last decade, itoudis. Greece and Serbia are two of the best (if not the best) rosters we have ever seen in european basketball. Also fisrt time are 4 teams that can easily win the cup. Serbia, Greece, Slovenia and France. Also there are 7 more teams that can do something really good like Spain and Lithuania and also Croatia, Germany, Czech Republic and Italy. Literally what a tournament! In my opinion it will end like this. 1. Serbia. 2 Greece. 3 France. 4 Slovenia.
if Gianis and his brothers are Greeks, then the earth is indeed a flat plate

Yes, i can confirm the legendary status of the Euro '22. Having watched as a kid '87s and '89s eurobasket, with the Soviet union and "papa" Sabonis, Nick Galis and the greek semi gods and last but not least the out of this planet yugoslavia's national team, the current one is the most interesting as far as it concerns the names/players. I really wish and hopefor this to be a memorable one!!
This EuroBasket will be full of surprises, we already witnessed some shocking games for WC Qualifiers. Bosnia vs France, Germany vs SLovenia, etc all shocking games where we couldn't even imagined the outcome that we had. I am really looking forward to this years EuroBasket it will definetly be a special one.
Thanks for the great content here and on your website. You‘ve filled the gap concerning European basketball, covered in English. It doesn’t surprise me that journalists from the most basketball crazy Lithuania have filled the gap.
Just one edit: it’s not sure yet that Daniel Theis will miss the Eurobasket, at the moment it doesn’t even look too bad. But respect for following all the news from different countries and different languages!
Another great video! Best channel that covers euroleague and international competitions
Appreciate the support! 🙏 We'll keep them coming during EuroBasket too, make sure to tune in 👀
Would’ve been good to see Latvia there, the team right now is really strong.
All the hope is in next year's World Cup!
correct me if I'm wrong isnt that the country KP is representing?
@@CHANGINGTHEDUWA Yeah, KP is latvian.
As a greek I thought our team didn't have the required chemistry yet even though we have great players, but after the game with Serbia, I think we have a chance.
We need papagiannis for real. Also better refs for God's sake.
@@nt_developer the most important is to have team which gets Ws in matches no matter how good/bad referees are
@@alexduka4812 We also didn't have papagiannis which is the only way to defend players like jokic. We will have him in euro basket tho.
@@nt_developer it is still impressive that Greece tied the game with Serbia at the end with a lot of absences(with Kostas Antetokoumpo and Sloukas not playing in this moment of the match)
@@alexduka4812 Papagiannis tbh would be more useful than Kostas for this match. Because Serbian are very strong and tall therefore hard to defend. Papagiannis is tall and a good defender. Also papapetrou was missing too and he is a good player.

Your right it should be a great tournament fully stacked with excellent players I'm pulling for Jokic and Serbia 🇷🇸.
Well I have high hopes for Slovenia. Hopefuly we bring another gold and defend the title. Greetings from Slovenia

for greece you skipped other major euroleague names such as papanikolaou, papagiannis, papapetrou. Also you forgot dorsey who is a dallas maverics players and was great for olympiacos.
I was going to write the same thing. I believe that in the international eyes Greece is not a favorite to do great things. Let's hope for a medal to shut some mouths.
Tried to focus more on the NBA players and EuroLeague superstars. Nonetheless, all four are very solid pieces to already beast of a squad, thanks for the input 🙏
@@BasketNews_com Yes i see what you are saying but seeing men like polonara, okobo, nedovic, I don't really get how they are more super stars at Euroleague than those guys I said. Never the less this was a very nice video!
Be real man... Giannis is the only player you need to talk about in Greece
@@vibezzzzcheck why tho? First of all do you watch euroleague? We have at least 5-6 top euroleague names?
If Bosnia beating the current European champions doesn’t say how underrated of a team we are, then people must be sleeping on us because they have proven time and time again that they don’t mess around and they put their all in to every play until the final buzzer. Regardless of where Bosnia finish, Bosnians around the world will be proud of them for the hard work they’ve put into every game . After the ethic division currently in Bosnia, we finally have something to cheer for and forget about everything going on for a few hours and cheer for the country that we all love.

Great analysis, man! Let's hope Coach Itoudis will bring the best out of this amazing Greek group of talented players
Nah I think you guys got this. As a Spanish guy I don't wanna face Greece too early on the Eurobasket just in case, this year we are not the favorites at all and you have potentially the strongest team. Definitely I'm gonna watch all the Greek matches since it's fun to watch but most importantly you are our Mediterranean brothers 🇬🇷❤️
One of the best videos, if you want to get some quick information!! Continue the work!!!!
Happy to hear, will do! 🎉
Greece has the best team
We could have trios from balkan for medals: Serbia, Slovenia and possibly even Croatia. But France, Spain and even Greece will be ready and could make a podium.
Oh man, even me as a Spanish don't think we stand a chance, this year's Eurobasket is full of talent eh, I hope you are right tho but I see Greece and Serbia strong af along with Slovenia and Croatia
The Netherlands can pack there bags already for a the flight back home !
Saw some games today and man it reminds me so much of the word cup and euros in football. Also the games feel so much like the NCAA tournament with a bit more passion.
I really hope the game grows in Europe where there are bigger crowds and teams that can potentially match with the USA’s talent.
I know football/soccer will always be king in Europe and I love the sport too, but I hope and believe countries like Serbia, Greece, Turkey, Slovenia, Etc., can keep developing great NBA talent.
Even countries like Spain, France, and Germany have a chance to grow the sport there even if football will always be number one there.
I 'm Greek myself but I' m hoping ang eagerly waiting for a great tournament in general.

Imagine if Euro basketball teams would stop their players from representing their nations at major tournaments like NBA does.
It's astonishing how many NBA players are here and not just journeymen, but top level talents. Even Bjelica won an NBA title last season.
country with 2mil people chilling as #1 favorites
Luka has to stop looking at the refs for a foul after every basket... Move on to the next play Luka! Get back on defense, take your frustrations out on the opposing team with aggressive defense
This is fucking SAD i mean since his 2 year after winning the Rookie of the year title he began to "eye fucking" the refs every fucking possession it's insane . I really used to have mad respect and i quite liked him but now he became a whinny ass bitch . Didn't Bjelica just win with GSW? I know he just signed with Europe but he's a pretty common name in the NBA.
He did indeed, but has signed with Fenerbahce for next year 👀
I only have this to say: If all European players came back to Europe, I wouldn't watch NBA again.
European basketball is better, the rules are better, the refs are better, the coaching is better, and there are no 1,500 pointless games that you can feel that teams and players don't want to play and only exist for making money. The only thing missing from European basketball is our players. Bring them back.

Well, i have a bad feeling about Slovenia winning a medal. There is Dončič and Dragič and Čančar, Prepelič and Tobey. But Slovenian coach decided to bring 8guards to the championship, meanwhile we have troubles with tall players. If you put Tobey in trouble with fouls and Dimec will bring himself into trouble with fouls, Slovenia will play with Čančar on center position.
