- Just watched Stray Kids for the FIRST time as a group finally, on this channel! I'm honestly a bit speechless from Thunderous. And I share more of on why through this video.

My real name is Tad, but DonKawaii/Don was simply an IGN name I created playing FF14 online, so I kinda just rolled with it. Lol. You can call me either one. I am also a teacher, and I teach people dance. And normally, I teach my students dance through sharing my own choreography, giving people drills or exercises to build foundation and technique. and I've been dancing for 15 years mainly growing up through Hip Hop dance culture, but have also taken inspiration from other dance artforms such as ballet, jazz, and tap. And how I got into K-Pop was because the main three groups, Wonder Girls, Big Bang, and SNSD. That followed with other things hallyu like korean dramas, variety shows, and the rest is history.

Why "Dance Teacher" even though you say "Dance Mentor"?
I actually consider myself both. I am not just someone who teaches dance, but I resonate more as a mentor who is there to help, train, or advise dancers to take steps into the right direction. "Dance Teacher" is a title that just makes it easier for newer people to understand what I do.
Do you actually know or speak Korean?
Baby levels. I've studied Korean 한국어 for 1 year when I was in community college. I can read and write in Korean, but I still have trouble speaking and formulating sentences.
Have you ever worked for any K-Pop artists in terms of creating choreography, backup dancers, etc.?
Yes, but not directly or in-person. I have partaken in K-Pop choreography submission projects/demos under the direction of dancers such as Pat Cruz (Kinjaz, The Company), Larkin Poynton (Project Home), and Alo Galedo (Brotherhood, The Company).

Thunderous' album is called Noeasy (noisy). Because they've received criticisms that their music is just noise and construction sounds. The song is really just a mockery for the hater's and Stray Kids saying they gonna do what they do, and "they don't play by the rules".
so, i wouldn't consider myself a stay (their fandom name, which explains "you make stray kids stay") but i do wanna just say,, some words about them and this song i guess? so "꾼 (kkun)" doesn't have a direct translation, but its along the lines of "being really good/a master at something". "소리 (sori)" mean sound or noise, so they're calling themselves the masters of noise. skz got a reputation early on of having "noisy music", this cb is pretty much them owning that. i'd love for you to check out god's menu and back door, these 3 songs combined aren't necessarily a trilogy but i feel like they're intertwined in terms of music, BUT i'd love even more if you considered adding them to the channel at some point and going from start to most recent! they're a super unique, heavily self-produced group that have amazing choreographies and outstanding stages.

Sorikkun is a traditional Korean singer who “sings” speaking . That’s the reason Changbin have a rap part when he imitates it.
You should definitely check out more of their M/Vs and their corresponding dance practices! Every title track has a dance practice as well as some b-sides. They are fabulous dancers and have only gotten better with time!
Finally you are checking out stray kids, their choreographies are art and they are great performers. This song thunderous are full of korean elements, the choreography includes korean traditional dance, martial arts and games.

If you're interested, you can try watching God's Menu first and then Back Door. Those 2 are the previous comebacks before Thunderous.:))
It's a continuation of Straykids kicking butt. I got really into them when I saw "Back Door" and "God's Menu". and they had a FANTASTIC performance in Kingdom earlier this year.
Oh if you do go into the Kingdom shows you should check out Mayfly dance group (it'll be Straykids, Ateez, and Btob members). That was an awesome performance. 100% worth it.

The guy with the long extensions is Felix, he's from Australia and he has a pretty deep and distinguish voice.
"Thunderous" is a word play in Korean and it has different meanings and translations. They are basically "the noisy gods/goblins" who came once in a while to make some noise, like a thunder. They're loud and they always make an impact. The song is kind of a diss track to haters who always said their music is just noise. They are laughing to them and having fun with their own sound and music.

8:55 this section of the choreography is about how he can do things easily even if his eyes are blocked.. Because the general meaning of the song is about them, making their own music, and they don't care what the haters will say about it, cause they're doing it for the fans.. And that choreography., for me, implies that even if you block their eyes, they'll be successful in what they do (in the choreo, the guy rapping successfully avoided the arm of the other member).. hope this enlightened you..
and yes, they do wordplays, and put that in the choreo too.. and i think it's great..

Yay! Thank you for checking them out! I hope you enjoyed it and will check out some more of them in the future! My personal suggestions for dances would be miroh, side effects, double knot, or ta but literally anything that they do is fantastic! The premise for this song and the album in general is a response to haters who say that they only make “noise music” the concept for the mv is that they are powerful traditional Korean goblins known as the noise makers or thunderous ones which I believe is the direct translation of the title! Another dancer mentioned that the arm movement that they do at the laugh bit reminded them of the move done at battles when one dancer is stealing choreo and while I have no clue if that’s the actual meaning behind it I think it’s an interesting theory that you might enjoy!
Ahh I see, that does make sense now. In the battle scene as far as I know, there's a motto called "Byterz Will Be Eaten". Maybe that's what they mean!

you should definitely react to more of their dance practices and mvs. I'd really recommend easy, God's menu, back door, double knot, levanter(for a more artsy/contemporary feel), boxer, district 9( debut), hellevator(pre-debut), all in.

The central themes are - signified in the opening via animation- the Stray Kids are representing the legendary mythological creatures called Dokkaeb (goblins) who have come down from above to earth( the reason that you see blue flames above their heads) and a general statement to those who in their beginning years called them 'noise music' and/or 'construction music'.
I believe that the M/V was shot at the Bukchon Hanok Village which is a Korean traditional village in Seoul. They did wonders blending the new and traditional (many of the traditional instruments were used in the sound track) music styles giving this a unique sound even in Kpop circles. Also integrated the Taekkyon martial art's style into their dance performance.

Fun fact this video is done all in one take no cuts and just wide lens on camera to make the dance parts and more impact on the sound and story behind it n then they just pushed in on closeup shots so deff shout out to camera crew n production n camera
and with this song, choreo/perfomance, Stray Kids won "Performance of the Year" at the 2021 Asian Artist Awards (on 12/02/2021)!!! 💥💯🔥🤩 So very well deserved!!!

tbh, dancing is not what skz known for, they are more rap focused group, but i think since gods menu comeback, they've been improving soooo much with their dance, more so bcs they are having this really new concept and opening up to so much creativity and with winning kingdom they finally got their confidence.
