As I watched this video, I began to shed tears, because "Our People" have been deeply hurt/ killed by members of Law Enforcement OR incidents where "team officers" KNEW deep down in their hearts, their team "Officer" was doing something wrong, and wouldn't stand up and tell them, "STOP, YOU'RE WRONG, or just simply intervene and remove that particular officer out of the way, to REGAIN CONTROL of the situation. How do one turn their head away from someone being tortured? HOW?! As a Nurse, I have a duty to intervene/stop another Nurse from hurting/abusing, whether it's physically or verbally......that's MY DUTY....to cause NO HARM and to STAND UP to the ones that MAY cause harm......why can't they do the same.....Derek Chauvin DESERVES Capital Punishment by DEATH......the other 2 officers are just as guilty for restraining him, as Chauvin slowly take GEORGE'S LIFE away from him. Officer Lane asked his teammates, "Shall we roll him over?" You don't need to ask such question when you ALREADY KNOW what was being done didn't look or feel right....NOW, he wants to play, Mr Advocate.....He should have been GEORGE's Advocate like the TRUE OATH of Law Enforcement is SUPPOSE to do. And as for the 4th officer Mr. Chinese man, standing there protecting Chauvin from the crowd, he also chose, not to do the right thing........All 3 officers had a chance to make a difference.....they FELL! They FELL GEORGE, they FELL his CHILDREN/ HIS FAMILY......they even FELL their own families.....they FELL every member of Law Enforcement.....and they FELL the American People who believe in doing what's Right ......Sometimes you may have to stand ALONE in doing what's right.....and it won't always feel good......now, those 3 "ride or die" officers have not only messed up the FLOYD's family life, they have messed up their OWN LIVES and their families are also suffering from that ignorant choice they made that day......I'm sorry to post such a lengthy post, but I am angry and had to get it out.....to the officers that took out time to make this video, I say Bless each and everyone of you! It is what it is and as Black men and women we are viewed differently so that distinction have to be made because you can take off a uniform and no one would know that you were a police officer but you can not take off your beautiful Black skin. I understand your pain and anger. I feel it too. However, they are speaking from a place of sincerity. They could have said nothing, but instead chose to step up and speak out. That's very powerful!!! We have to remember that every officer would not have done what those four did to George Floyd. Don't get caught up in his choice of words. Because US police are so decentralized, all they can do is be an advocate. Unlike every other first world country, we let thousands of independent local local police departments make their own rules. Every other sane country has a very centralized police system with far more consistent policies and much longer training thanks to broader taxes.
We must not accept change in the system over a period of time. In this matters, change has to happen immediately.

I dated a cop for many years and I have cousins that are in the police force and they are amazing at what they do. But when you say that not all police are bad please also remember that not all black men & women are threats either.

As an APD retiree this video shows the continued commitment we have to the community. I don’t know a single officer, active or retired, that saw Mr. Floyd’s death as anything other than a horrible murder.
If APD could write the book that other agencies had to follow, that would be something. It's unfortunate that many lack the will to change their ingrained department culture, and even those that do might not be able to afford it due to inadequate funding.
These aren't the days of the late 60's & early 70's where Native Americans & people of color were randomly shot/killed being hunted down for sport & fun with no retribution. Actions like these are taught, teach peace ✌as children and they'll follow, but if teach hate, bully, and haze and this is the outcome.

I wish I could have gone back to the 1600's and stopped the British soldiers from bringing the African Americans to the U.S. and sold as slaves!! it's probably just 1/4th, since they do shift work, the other shift would have ended a 12 hour shift probably hours ago and barely has time to get home, showers, sleep, get food ready, get uniform ready, and get back to work to do it again. These are people that have to respond to high steaks emergencies, and you literally cant take everyone off the road, because crime doesnt stop for a cute little video

1.) What steps are they going to take to ensure safer training techniques? Other countries have their officers training for years, while in the U.S., it takes only few wks. 2.) Will they require body cameras? 3.) Will disciplinary actions in their record be enforced? How can police with records be allowed to train new police to destroy human beings like the one who murdered Mr. Floyd? 4.) Please add to my list if I have left something out. Blessings. 🙏👼

I started over 35 years ago. During 90% of the time I felt exactly how the black female officer felt. Caught in the middle with a community that didn’t always embrace police officers while trying to maintain my black identity in a white dominated agency which had a few racist cops in key positions. I often felt over looked by the black community and my talents untapped by the department unless it was solely to benefit department heads. However if we don’t get more black community members to join agencies change will be un impactful.

As a black, ....very angry, .....very upset, female Army Veteran trying to raise right two black sons in this country, it was sooooo good to hear each of you vocally express that Mr. Floyd was murdered and that his death was senseless and that you are hurt and troubled by it. All of you are in my prayers and I still believe there are still good cops like yourselves in America. I hope that every police dept in American feel, believe and speak out this way. Everyone in this video as a whole are very candid and true heroes in my eyes, this community is where I want to leave with my family because I can tell from the chief's down to regular officers they all are very good individuals who may have many differences but, know how to do their jobs without conflicting they're personal feelings into the profession.

They are sincere. In 2006, my son attended William Ramsey Elementary School. I was a single mother and new to the area. The principal at William Ramsey Elementary School enrolled my son in a mentor-ship program. His mentor was an Alexandria City Police Officer (a white man). We are African American. He cared about my child.
Leaning curve..yes u can pin someone down if necessary but avoid putting pressure on lungs, neck, ,head and also make adjustments when someone complains they cant breath..make them comfortable call for medical attention .. your main goal is to save lives , save assets and enforce the law..be driven with compassion..
