Love this era of being a chargers fan. Win or lose at least we can bet on the fact that we're building towards SOMETHING
More like lose than win unfortunately nowadays.
Yea, building towards a 4 win season because they went and drafted a bunch of tackles instead of playmakers
1. First of all, Joe Hortiz is the general manager, not Coach Harbaugh. Coach Harbaugh might have input, but he doesn't have final say. Otherwise, they would have had Harbaugh be general manager as well and not even hired Joe.
2. Joe has said, on more than one occasion in interviews, that he always picks best player available. And I have a sneaky suspicion that he would not think Joe Alt was the best player available at 5 over Nabers or MHJ, etc.
3. I understand you can always use depth at OL, but our OL right now as it stands is pretty good. Not only that, but offensive line is pretty deep this year, meaning they can always grab offensive lineman in later rounds instead of the first round. And additionally, Joe Alt is a left tackle... we already have a left tackle, and switching Joe over to right tackle when he's been playing left tackle his whole career would be silly.
You lose all creywhen you say out offensive line is good. We have an awful right tackle, no center and suspect guards. Wr is not as important as OL. And hOrtiz will pick who harbaugh wants. Everyone knows that
Also alt can move to right tackle. Sewell was the best right tackle in the league last year and he played left in college
@@michaeldc951 Ok. But not every guy can make that switch, and do it as successfully as he did. And like I said, we already have a capable right tackle, as well as the left tackle, so drafting Joe Alt at 5 I think would be a big mistake. I mean, if the Chargers were going to pick anything other than a wide receiver at 5, I would prefer it be the best defensive Edge, or the best cornerback, rather than an offensive tackle. Just my two cents
@@michaeldc951 That's your opinion, not a fact.
I am willing to bet everything I have Harbaugh calls more shots in the building than Hortiz does
DONT BE DISTRACTED!
this is all smoke to confuse other teams, WE TAKING A WR1
I wouldn’t be so sure about that. The worst kept secret at the combine was the talk of the Chargers being interested in trading down which makes sense considering how many areas they need to address
I hope we trade down and get a natural RT
Best rt in football last year was Sewell who played LT in college. They can switch just fine. Tons of nfl right tackles played left in college.
@@michaeldc951KC RT sucked...won the SB
If we miss out on Nabers or MHJ for a tackle I will be severely disappointed
What is Alt turns out to be the next Joe Thomas?
@@danig.barreto2030 he won’t, he’s massively overrated. I bet you some teams prefer other offensive lineman in the draft like fuaga over alt. Consensus big boards aren’t always similar to team draft boards.
It all depends on what the need is for the team, hes not a good choice to move him over to LT@@andrecastillo2612
@@danig.barreto2030 obviously Joe Thomas was the key to Cleveland being so dominant in the league. I guess we're moving off our all pro left tackle already to get cheaper?
I don't care! 😂
If the Vikings trade down and the Chargers pick Marvin, I’m gonna run out my house half naked
Please don't post pictures! 😂
I'm with you on that.
Are you a chick and hot?
if that happens I will do the same but fully naked
I have done three full, seven round mocks for the Chargers the last two days through PFF. In all three I traded out of 5, twice with Min. In one, I traded out of 23 after taking Latu at 1 and Bowers in2 at #11. This pulled me an extra 2 and 4. I also traded the #37 back to #41 and got and extra 3 and 5 rounder. Overall, I ended up with 11 and 12 picks, most of them 5th round or higher. I was able to STACK the roster and each draft was graded at an A. Unintentionally, I drafted FIVE Michigan players in the last one, three D and 2 O. This also included a 2 and a 4 in one and a 2 and a 3 in the other for 2025. As much as Harbaugh knows these college players the next two years, THAT is a huge advantage. Am not a college prospect guy, and was still able to restock the team with quality, many starters or rotational contributors, now.
The “big 3” WRs are just a luxury and would be a waste of draft capital. You don’t buy a Porsche when you need tanks. A dominant run game will force man on man and safety creep. Give Herbo time with a dominant OL, especially off play action, and he can dissect a team with me and the director at WR. I see both QJ and Palmer having great years with Coach Lal and they probably bring in a couple of veteran WR after the draft at some point.
Get used to it Bolt fans, unless there are no trade partners, we are bot going WR. Even then, Fuaga is a better fit for the offense than Alt. Look at Money and Lo Neal’s BLEAV pod cast today. It will make you feel better.
PFF is a joke.
Money said that Telesco is a hell of an evaluator which is ridiculous considering Telesco doesn’t have a good record in the draft, free agency, nor in hiring coaches. Money overrated the Chargers roster from the get go & he seemed to overhype every move Telesco made.
@@jdl619 OK. What professional organization are you employed by?
It's a mock for a reason & there is a reason every one of these people do dozens of them. Because you can't really predict what or why other teams do. So miss me with the pff mock everyone can do their own mock for free & that's what these people do to sell it to us. That's all.
@@jdl619 I get it. But, they are useful to learn off the efforts of others, who the players available are and generally who might be available and where when during the real draft to feel a little less “lost”. Usually I (and probably most people), end up wondering WTF is that player past round 1, if that. There is a lot of positional value out there for what the Chargers need. For example, I REALLY hope the Chargers take Ben Sinnott, TE, Kansas State. He looks perfect for what the Bolts are going to be running. Never even knew about him until I started doing mocks.
Finally realized that Harbaugh wants to build a QB friendly offense. Expect to maximize Herbert by him throwing more into more favorable coverages. Also to keep Herbert upright and healthy
I’m setting myself up to not be disappointed. I’ll be happy with whoever gets picked, though I’m least excited for a CB with the first pick. I equally want Fuaga as much as one of the blue chip receivers, or Bowers. Fuaga just feels right to me in all that I’ve learned about the Harbaugh philosophy.
We begged for Harbaugh and his group...so LIVE WITH IT...I will support whatever they do 😊
The best compromise between a WR and OL at 5 would be Brock Bowers. Odunze can block on the outside but Bowers has more of a floor and ceiling as an inline blocker. He also is a heck of a receiver too.
If we take O-line not only in the 1st round but with the 5th pic!!!! Then idk man but I ain’t gone be happy!!!
I would love for us to trade down and get more picks. Imagine landing WR Xavier Legette, DT Tvondre Sweat, OT Blake Fisher, and LB Marist Liufau in the Mid-Late rounds on top of whoever else we get, we would be unstoppable
All three drafts sucks. Joe Alt cant play right tackle it would be a waste of a pick.
Why not?
@@michaeldc951 He has never played right tackle at any level. When Alt has done drills at RT he has looked absolutely ass. Alt is a phenomenal prospect but he just can’t play right tackle. Flipping from left to right or right to left is not something everyone can do or as easy as everyone makes it to be.
@@JM_Weber99 he was uncomfortable. Big deal. So many right tackles in the NFL played left in college. Sewell didn’t look good either when he first switched now he is an all pro. Sorry man, I get that you like this opinion but the data doesn’t back you up
@@michaeldc951 Generally you will see greater success moving inside as opposed to switching sides. Being uncomfortable and showing poor drill work is not ideal. First round picks working out is already sub 45% and now you wanna make the odds worse?
@@JM_Weber99 show me the left tackle that wasn’t able to go right. That is the most common move when a player can’t handle being on the left. I’m not sure where this line of thinking started. I’ve heard it on some other chargers RUclips pages but the point isn’t one made by any actual football analysts, just a couple of RUclipsrs
Love long videos ⚡️ director
Another thing no one has mentioned is the importance of an elite plug and play WR1 because Harbaugh does not develop WRs well at all and we have no WR1. Michigan has only had 3 WRs drafted in the 9 years Harbaugh has been there. Two are garbage and Nico Collins was going to be really good regardless. Greg Roman is the last person on earth you want to develop a WR. You can't go drafting some random 3rd-4th round developmental WR, they will fail miserably in this system. You need an elite MHJ, Nabers or Odunze who are ready to be a WR1 opening day.
Fuaga and Murphy Round 1, Xavier Worthy Round 2, and Payton Wilson Round 3
I doubt Murphy will be there at 23 if they make a trade with the Vikings.
Wilson will be gone by 69
The fact that Dvandre sweat was still available at 69 makes WR at 49 a solid pick.
Joe Hortiz said he will take best player available. At pick 5, that is MHJ/Nabers. Period. End of story. Stop the smoke screens.
Not picking a WR as their 5th would be an embarrassing move smh. Stop with that silly narrative 🤦🏽♂️
Rb? I like taking a quick and twitchy back who can also receive rather than a bigger back. We already have 2 bigger backs in Edward’s and Spiller. And we also have Dobson who is smaller but still one cut bruiser type back.
If we do the key is pick the one that understands and can handle the pressure of being a top ten pick and what it means to the team to be the guy protecting Jus10
1:22 as long at that OL is named Bowers, it's a big mistake. TE is still considered OL haha😅
We have a tuff decision to make but trading down for 2 first round picks would make the most sense
Just trust what our coaches have in stored 🤞🏾⚡️
This is the deepest OL draft ever. There is zero reason to draft one with the 5th pick over an elite WR. There will be plenty of OL in rounds 2-5 and free agency. There won't be a single elite WR past the 10th pick....
We don't have 1 single top 25 skill player at their position on offense besides Herbert. If everyone plays to their potential we'll have the worst offense in the history of the NFL, but at least Herbert will have plenty of time to think about how hard he's going to get hit while he's looking for someone to get open.
That's a really dumb take.
A really really dumb take. There are 32 teams so having 1 top 25 player is fine
@@michaeldc951 when was the last time a team made it to the Superbowl with only 1 top 25 player? You're the genius here so I'm sure you have an answer.
@@boldwulf879 how is it a dumb take? Every competitive team in the league has a top 25 QB and at least 1 top 25 skill player at their position of not more.
@@zachbenson9548 Let me try to explain. What makes a skill player rank in the top 25? Is it their draft position? Certainly not, or Quentin Johnson would be a top 25 player. The players have to play themselves up into the top 25. And what does it mean to be in the top 25? Was Austin Ekeler in the top 25? He was in scoring and gathering Fantasy Points, but did that translate into wins? No. Where he and Antonio Gates were special is that they weren't even drafted! Don't get too focused on drafting a player early in the draft and think that this automatically makes them a top 25 player. Understand that a Great Team elevates players into the top 25. Let's let our new staff create the team they want in the manner they plan to do it.
Nah he's trying to convince the other teams so nobody trades infront to grab a wr and we get MHJ 😤 smoke screen
Mr Director..First love the show I watch everything you put out. Have you taken a look at the RAC god Malachi Corley? We dont need Marv or Nabers I want this guy. Also I’m so tired of team putting their best pass rushers on that right side of our line. It’s been killing us for years so OT then Corner or Center imo love the show keep it up
If we trade down with MIN and get picks 11 & 23, I’m fine with taking OL with one of them… but the other pick HAS to be a pass catcher (WR/TE)…
Fuwanga at 11 is good! If the staff thinks Jamar Sayler can be a productive RT I would want them to take Bowers since he adds to your receiving and blocking game. If they think they do not have a starting OT then draft a Tackle.
Finally signing J.K. Dobbins
I see alot of John Spanos wannabe draft experts in the comments, thinking they know whats best for the team. We have pros running the Chargers now so sit back, enjoy the ride and leave it to the experts and stop getting so emotional. Now with that said, I wouldnt believe anything coming out right now, there's a lot of Chargers draft rumors going around and I bet that's by design.
Thats if the grandson silver spoon boy will let them.
Thats if the grandson silver spoon boy will let them.
Mike Sanistill: not sure if he tackles well enough.
That’s what he said, he wants to be physical trench dominating team. You don’t do that by taking a WR with your first pick. O-line!!!!! Besides, you can get a really good WR in the 2nd round. Best case scenario is trade out of 5 and get draft capital.
I know you're tired of hearing this. No big 3 WR, Get Bowers & RT W/ trade. Lots of WR's later rd's. Build up w/ DB's, OC, DL, DE, LB, ect. Sprinkle in WR's if you trade again. We have high picks in all rd's. We need picks. Our coaches know the players in this draft. ÷ we still have FA & UDFA after the draft.. Have faith in the front office & coaching staff. 🙏 I'm stoked, looking forward to this season. LET'S GO, BOLT UP & HANG ON W/BOTH HANDS !!!
Trade down? Yes but at 5? Hell NO!!!
Getting a center is important!
These drafts are all good, in all honesty! I feel the same way about Allen but seriously couldn't finish his restructuring fast enough so we lost Mike....then Allen said nah to a paycut...so we lost both best WR only bc of Allen. I do see if he made his mind up sooner we would still have Mike Wil on the team with Q.J and Palmer. Then this draft would totally go the OL first round way but now we have no one to throw too so I feel like we wont trade out anymore and take Nabbers or Marvin. We need someone to take the attention away so our play action thrives bc of right now its kind of weak or non-threatening 😅.. IDK just my thoughts on tge whole Allen thing
We can't run all the time and wr we have right now I'm sorry but not good yet need that big wr to balance it out our off line is good for now
Draft C because Shipley. I’m so high on Will behind a good o-line. That will be the 2024 jersey easily.
I'm for building the trenches. But if we can trade down and get more draft capital, I'm up for it.
We have to take Murphy over a tackle in that spot. There’s a lot of tackles to take later in the first. Only 2 impactful DT’s and Murphy is a clear choice over Newton
If we’re going to take a LB only one we take is Payton Wilson. Colson is good but Wilson is the best LB in this draft and it’s not close.
If they trade down & take a tackle or a TE or anything other than Wr I will boycott the team. Honestly I would root against them at this point. I might have to buy another team gear I don't like just to make a point.
Taking OT anywhere in the 1st rd is stupid. WR and DT are extremely weak. Pipkins was ranked the same as KC RT and they won SB.
Fuaga, Newton, P. Wilson, R. Wilson, Coleman, pick'em. There's your first 5 picks.
Fun fact: In all 3 years Harbaugh was with the 49ers, he selected a running back within the first four rounds. All 3 years. Expect a running back in the first 4 rounds. Probably one named Blake Corum but I'd expect an RB within the first 4 rounds.
That's going to suck.
@@jdl619not really lmao
Thank you for a really crappy draft bit. It sucks from top to bottom but hey maybe they think just the new coaching staff is going to sell jerseys. 😂
Director i dont think going DT first round after getting Poona Ford is necessary... ive also heard through the wire the Harbaugh is interested in forming CJ okoye into a star
Taking Sanistril over Mcconkey was rough but a safer choice since WR is deeper than CB.
Wilson 2percent drop rate!! I don’t care where he catches it with that drop rate!
I am ready to win! Run or pass starts with the O line!
What if someone trades up with AZ and Harrison is still on the board at 5? Will chargers still trade down and pass on him for more picks and oline?
I can’t take another mock draft, it’s wildly played out.
Draft A is great and safe!
If we trade down cool. Joe alt at 5 aint it. we got too many holes elsewhere.
JC Latham please
I like Byron Murphy! Very hard not to take a CB!
You NEVER pick duke football players. Major violation
Lol ravens would’ve been one a SB if it’s that simple you can’t pass the ball you won’t win
The A draft showed how deep WR is!!
Cool mock drafts!!!!
Personally, if we go Oline then trade down.. but if we go wr.. Harrison jr
I love this draft
if Chargers can get junior colson thats a steal
I think the vikings should throw Addison into the deal instead of an extra pick
Group A
I rather pick offensive line man I need to protect Justin Herbert at all costs I don't want him retire like Andrew Luck 😢 Remember you only go as far as your O-line will take you !!!!!
We would be lucky to get draft A
hey micheal thomas to the chargers is this real?
Taliese Foo-aug-uh.
Director...sometimes i feel you pi k off impulse... think what you already have before you pick .... theres ALOT of factors that played in lack of development last yr .
We still have Palmer ..we still have Darius Davis in which was under used QJ with better coaching staff .. why waste picks and overstaffing wrs in a run first offense ? Makes zero sense . You passed rbs in every mock lol . Unless u think Spliller and Dotson are it then we need to look for the future Marshawn Lloyd or Audric Estime no if ands or buts
Let's Go Rebuild! 1st round OT, Edge, WR, CB, DT, MLB, S, RB, OC, there will be a lot of very good undrafted players this year! No worry!
WR first round, then coach up a right tackle. When was the last time a right tackle won the Super Bowl?
Oline or Dline letsss goo !!!!
They want to go protection because I'm sure they're going to pick up Tyler Boyd.
Tyler Boyd is garbage. We already have enough WR3s on this team
Talk of the town? People talk about the traitors in LA? I thought no one cared
Bolt gang
I’m taking Kris Jenkins over a Wr at 45.
I don't think anyone has an accurate read on what Harbaugh will do. There's a lot of gamesmanship taking place in order to deliberately, mislead other teams, so you can't go on what's being said, either. Everything's just uneducated, guesses.
We got QJ last time what can we expect only thing is having Justin healthy
I dont care who we pick as long as we win.
What's sad is I've had Herbert as my one of two keepers since day one. I may actually have to think of not keeping him with no weapons. SMH
Latham over Mimms
MHJ or bust unless he gets picked first
If the Chargers don't take Malik Nabers, it may be time to become a Rams fan!! 😂😂
Typical LA response
Go for it. I won't try to stop you!
Bye
We have had a shit O-line since around 2010. I am more a fan of Fuaga(Fu Ahh Gah!!) or the kid from Alabama. Hoping we trade down to make this happen.
Bolt fans, a tackle is NOT a bad thing!! For the run game Roman and Harbaugh want, this is the right move.
This is the deepest OL draft ever. There will be plenty there in rounds 2-5 and free agency. There will not be an elite WR past the 10th pick....
@@michaelbell75 I would make the case that it is a much, much deeper WR draft. It hasn't been this deep at receiver in a looooong time. The best O lineman are definitely in the first round. Specifically, right tackle. In the later rounds you have guys like Xavier Leggette, Roman Wilson, Ladd McConkey, Troy Franklin, the kid from Florida State Keon Coleman. This is a deep receiver draft. True right tackles? Not so much. You could move someone to a new position at right tackle I guess but I would want a true right tackle. The only true amazing right tackles are Fuaga and JC Latham. They are the only first round beasts. I love Fashanu but he's a true left tackle. I think people get so excited about flashy players like Nabers, Bowers and MHJ, rightfully so. I would LOVE one of those guys. I would be doin back flips. But it's not what Harbaugh and Greg Roman do. We'll see next week and I hope you're right but I truly believe we're goin tackle first.
@@michaelbell75 Michael, Florida State's Keon Coleman will probably be a 3rd/4th rounder. He's graded that low because he's "slow." Watch the tape and decide if you think that holds him back. By the way, Jerry Rice ran a 4.7.
This dude's a freak!
ruclips.net/video/2dYgs9YxMmw/видео.htmlsi=Qfvt2FJU1y978v9w
@@MikeEsparza949the problem with that is they got rid of 90% of the offensive production from last year. We absolutely need a WR1, ready on day 1, not some 3rd or 4th round developmental WR. Harbaugh may be great with RB and O line, but he is awful with WRs. Michigan has only had 3 WRs drafted in the 9 years he’s been there. Two are garbage and Nico Collins was gong to be really good either way. Roman doesn’t even know what a WR is. There are only three WRs capable of being a WR1 on opening day and we know who they are. Better draft one of them at 5.
@@michaelbell75 I don't know, Michael. I mean, Davante Adams was a second rounder and so was Ocho and Issac Bruce. First rounders are never a guarantee. See: Quentin Johnston. Terrell Owens was a 3rd rounder. I know that these guys are more rare but in a year where there is a ton of depth, I'd take a flier on Leggette or Roman Wilson or Keon Coleman. I genuely think those dudes a day 1 starters. But I'm with you in terms of want. I want a WR too. I just don't see it happening in reality. I see the trio of Harbaugh, Roman and Hortiz trading back for Latham or Fuaga or sticking and picking a Joe Alt (booo) or even reaching for Fuaga or Latham at 5 if they can't find a trade partner. This is probably the most anticipated draft for me personally since I started watching the draft in '92. No matter who they pick, I think it will be a stud.
We’re not picking up a lineman at 5, we have no WR depth. Esp if MHJ or Nabers still there. Or even Odunze. I’m no expert or coach but I know enough football to not do that. Assuming our coaches know the same.
If we trade down and Bowers is there you take him and then you can still get a ok OL with the 23rd.
Uh
I’ve been saying that Jim would not take a WR with the number 5 pick. If anything, they trade back and grab a WR in the late 1st or early second.
There all bad but B is the best
Hi
Wr at 5 would be a waste
I think this all michigan players is a mistake
I know you need content but cmon bro.
WR is NOT the move. 💯⚡💪🏽💙
If Brady and Mahomes can win Super Bowls without wr’s, but a top ten defense, so can Herbert. Draft Bowers and a bunch of defensive players.
